AMC24 is probably the best theater in Jacksonville. I've been going there almost exclusively for the last 17 years. I love the new recliners in standard and Dolby theaters, however I think some of the Imax theaters are still using the old-style seating and need an upgrade. I'm pretty sure the subwoofers are blown out in the Doby theater so those probably need to be repaired. The snack bar is kind of a ripoff price-wise and the quality of the snacks and popcorn has gone down a bit from what it used to be, but that doesn't really matter much since I don't really get stuff there anyway. read more

I'm always at this theatre. It's very close to my home. The staff has always been helpful and polite. They make you feel welcome. Love the reclining chairs and the fact that the seats are assigned because it makes the process go quicker. The sound from the movies are a little loud but everything else is great. read more

IMAX theater is a joke!!! Old broken down filthy dirty seats with busted armrests for an up-charge. Save your money. Even a busted couch at home would be better. The assigned seating makes it even worse...can't even feel free to pick the best of the nasty choices. I'll show management this review and see if they even care....two stars instead of zero because of the appropriate and prompt response; it was a shame a complaint was necessary. Guest services indicated the old seats and poor condition were in part due to the IMAX relationship and contractual restrictions. We were issued a refund and comped seats in a different theater with recliner seats that were tidy and clean. Take away: AMC 24 Regency seems to care about guests Just AVOID the IMAX completely. read more

The location of the place is dangerous, imagine trying to enjoy a movie but is paranoid that something may happen. I guess they want you to feel as if your safe by having the police station right in the mall but it just proves that it isn't a safe area. Why don't they have a metal detector at the mall because people carry weapons. read more

This place was amazing! The big seller was the seat that I was in. It's better than any La-Z-Boy chair my father has ever owned. The seats are motorized so that I can choose how far back I want to recline, how high I want to sit up. They have a bar, plenty of food options. The only thing I have to worry about is how much it's all going to cost. But that experience kind a left me with that desire to come back as soon as possible. I prefer coming to this AMC versus others in Jacksonville. Usually pretty quiet during the weekends and they don't get packed like most due. The location isn't the greatest but it helps since it doesn't get packed. They have the lounge seats and service to bring your food to you. I was a concession manager for another movie theater chain. I have several issues with their concession stand and drink area. The stand is always understaffed and the wait time is unreasonable. I've been as many as 6 people deep. There should never be a line of more than the person you are serving and one behind them. Next in line service is a must. Enough staff and opening the auxiliary stands in the hallways is a must with weekends and big movie openings. I have never seen them open ever. Their prices are high, even by movie theaters standards. The theaters are expensive to run and the theater doesn't see a lot of the money spent at the box office. Most of it goes to the company that made the film. So, the concession stand is where they have to make their money. All that said, the prices are to high. I also have an issue with the cleanliness of the stand area. There are soda and food spills everywhere. Both unsightly and unsanitary. There should be one staff member who should be cleaning these areas as soon as they are dirty. No excuse for a dirty stand area. The heated food, hot dogs, nachos, etc., is mostly good, except for the popcorn. Their popcorn is terrible. Taste stale and their are a ton of broken kernels. The theaters themselves and the reclining seats are nice and their projection equipment is of high quality. They could clean the theaters a little better between shows, but all in all the movie presentation is good. The Cinemark up the street has some of the same issues, but does a much better job. read more

AMC needs to do better with delivery to seat service. I was brought the wrong things 2 times. Instructs me to go guests services after the movie is over to get a refund. No one was there. After I asked is one working over here . They call a manager to come, which he takes his time. Then tells me i have to go to over to concessions to get refund. Which is a lie because I've gotten a refund before from guest services for concessions. Because this was not my first food incident with them.Movies are not cheap nor is the food. I like you AMC so please get it together. read more

Okay, let's start with the fact that the AMC has always been my favorite theater in Jacksonville/ Orange Park. I have been apart of the AMC Stubs program forever. I even paid for the membership the past few years and BONUS when the paid got bumped up to Premier Status with your own line for tickets and concessions. Then, this theater got all fancy with the recliners and reserved seating. Not to mention the bar (though I have not indulged.) On my last visit, they upgraded the menu as well. Since there usually is 8 of us going to see a movie on it's opening weekend, I buy the tickets way in advanced to get us seated together. More times than not, I have gotten an email from AMC about a special or a bonus AFTER I have booked our tickets. Usually, AMC will make any adjustments but most times I just let it go. The employees are usually on the younger side, but I always enjoy interacting with them. They are usually friendly and upbeat and don't mind a little chit chat. The theater is always busy even when you'd think it wouldn't be. I been here at opening on a weekday.... busy. I've been here late night on a weekday... busy. So I imagine a Friday/ Saturday might be just as bad if not worse. HOWEVER, reserved seating makes it all disappear. No more having family members or friends fend off strangers from taking your seat. Meaning you can take your sweet time getting to the theater as well and still getting your preferred seat. With the new recliners, gone are the days of strangers feet on the back of your chair or closer than you really want to be to someone's bare feet. You recline with plenty of room for people to still get by and the space between rows is enough you will never interact with anyone in front or behind you. Which means you won't be bothered by fidgeting kids (unless they are in your immediate area) or annoying talking or phone use. It still happens but they are close enough and singled out that a glance in their direction will get it solved. It really has made moviegoing much more enjoyable. Also, they added a feature to order your concessions ahead or even from your seat and a member brings it out to your seat. How fancy is that? AMC is certainly on top of their game. We probably go at least once a month but with our movie line up this year, we will be here more often. read more

I grew up in Arlington, but have not been back to the theater here in 30 years. Things sure have changed. This place is amazing. You pick your seats as if you are buying tickets for a sporting event or play. The seats are leather recliners and spaced perfectly between rows so that you cannot see the row below you or above you. No more annoying texting during the movie. The concession is quite cool also. You put your own butter on your popcorn and you get your own soda from one of those machines that has 150 different combinations to choose from. They also have a bar in the theater, but the prices ($8 a beer) kept me from ordering. I guess the price would also keep people from getting drunk and becoming obnoxious to other movie viewers. I would highly recommend this theater. read more

I have been going to Regency 24 for a couple of years now. Most years I was just going a couple times of year b/c it was close. But ever since they upgraded their seats and changed their customer service, every movie I have seen the past year has been at AMC Regency. Come on, how can you not love recliner seats and reserved seating. Getting tickets are so easy if you use Fandango.com. All you do is order, get your tickets on your phone, and then they scan it when you get to the theater. The seats are comfortable and lean waaaay back. If you are on date night, the arm rest in the middle comes up. Nice big ole cup holders. I really like that they updated the soda machines. Tons of choices to chose from. If you complain about the movie prices, just go early. I take my boys a lot to see family and children movies so we chose the early times. The movies are like 5.25 a person even for new movies on the weekend if you go to first showing or early movies. So please, go to the AMC Regency 24, lay back, relax and watch a movie!!! read more

Holy cow they got recliners! And self service soda stations! So we came here because we had heard about the recliners and figured it cost the same $10ish dollars to come here as it would cost us to go to regal and Tinseltown especially for opening weekend of star wars. ZWe were not disappointed. The seats were super comfortable, the theater was clean and the popcorn was good. The theater has the same overpriced food as any other movie theater but at least they have the sodas as self service but they do the honor system when it comes to 1 free refill. They do have assigned seating but I personally like that because then I don't have to guess where can I sit. The parking lot was huge and the theater was pretty well lit. Overall, I think we will be making the drive here to see movies when they have them available in the recliner theaters! read more

Love what regency has done to their theatre. The laid back electric reclining seats really set this theatre apart from the others in Jax. You are able to reserve seating online which I recommend considering they have less seats now because of the recliners. Omg they are soooo comfortable! I also like the new pop machines very nice! Get your own drinks. The bathrooms were not too bad either compared to other theatres. I will be going to more movies over here just because of the seats! read more

Let's just say those reclining chairs are the bomb! I think I had a lil cat nap during the movie, I blame it on the recliner. I learned that you have assigned seats in the theatre, so there is no need to rush to your seat. I just wonder how often they clean the seats (just me thinking out loud). What I do like about the theatre is that it had a bar. What a wonderful idea but, get ready to pay an arm and a leg. It's cool it you want to "ultimate chill" with an alcoholic beverage go right ahead . I hope you can taste the alcohol for a mixed drink that's $10+ it better be alcohol loaded! I thought the lobby could have been a little more cleaner. The area where you have the self serve Coke machines with a billion flavor concoctions should be cleaned often. The floor and area get sticky. I almost forgot the kiosk outside to purchase tickets (they have four of them) well elegant I learned was that if all four is being used at the same time one or two of the four is going to slow down (start stallings). This happen to me so I had to go to the box office and buy tickets. What's the point...argh! Another thing don't get the seats all the in the front row (I know it's the only seats left and the movie is a top seller and it just dropped today). The seats are way too close. I felt I was apart of the movie Dead Pool, I was checking the credits at the end of the movie for my name. I will return to the Regency AMC theater. read more

I went on a date to see the night before there was a mom with 3 very young children. They completely ruined the movie experience for me and my guy. They obviously do not check IDs for rated R movies. Find another movie theater or grab a 6 pack and rent a movie at home it'll be cheaper. read more
