I have watched the transformation of the theater and I pretty much like what I see. It is nice to be able to recline in the seats and watch the movie. Another great thing is the tiered seating which ensures that you never have someone's head blocking your view of the screen. I am glad that they added the Coca Cola drink machine, not so thrilled about the bar, but to each his own. The assigned seating is okay, but it would be nice to be ushered to your seats as I have gone to my seat to find someone else in it. I wish they would go back to earlier shows on the weekend, before 12 pm. read more

However you must get tickets on line early or you can't get a good seat . As all theaters the food is way too pricey. I live closer to Orange Park and was on my way there, but decided to head to Regency because I'd heard so many good things about it. Here's my issue. The movie was supposed to start at 11:10. When it was already ten minutes late I decided to go to the desk to check on things. Amber contacted someone to ensure something was done, so I went back to my seat. After another ten minutes had passed the trailers finally started. After a few trailers played the screen went black. I waited a minute and then went back to the desk to ask them what's going on. It took a few minutes but a manager came up to refund the money for the ticket and give me a pass for another one because it wasn't going to play. Forget about the money I spent on the overpriced candy and my loss of time. I don't see myself coming back to this theatre if something like this can happen again. read more

The WORST experience ever. Went to see The Mummy and children were in the theater screaming, crying and running up and down the steps. This was after asking guest services to please have someone come into the theater and look into it. After the movie, I went to guest services where there were multiple people lined up and the manager standing with his arms crossed silently. He informed us that he just showed up and its the first he heard BUT continued to not offer a solution until finally saying what are the options. We went as a group of four and bought beer, soda AND popcorn and were offered 4 guest passes as compensation. Another customer asked about all the food that was paid for and he shrugged his shoulders. Absolutely blown away my a "managers" response or lack thereof. Will NEVER be back. read more

I have been going to this movie theatre for probably my entire life. I grew up in this neighborhood and I'm SOO glad they decided to revamp this place. The best thing about it is the seats. They're huge recliners that can lean back and are super comfortable. I have often brought a small blanket and snuggled up watching my movie . The lobby is clean and the staff is very kind and friendly. There's a bar but you can't leave the bar area with your drink so I think it's kind of pointless. This is my favorite movie theatre in Jacksonville but if it's a popular movie and on a weekend night, you better get tickets online because seats are limited and it's almost always sold out. Seats are also assigned and you get to pick where you're going to sit when you buy the tickets. I really like this because you don't have to search around in the dark for a seat. read more

OMG! The seats were buttery soft, roomy, recliners with electric controls. I wish I could have carried a couple of them out to my truck! The movie theaters themselves were excellent. The bass could be felt in the seats (part of the electric seats???) and made the movie a better experience. We went to the very early show at 10:45AM and it was less than $6.00 per person. The only thing I didn't like is you must choose your seat BEFORE you even walk into the theater. read more

Love the rewards. The facility is often dirty, the bathrooms have smelled of urine for years. The recliner seats were nice when first installed. Then they quickly became tattered and worn. Perhaps better upholstery and more cleaning would help. ALWAYS bring wet wipes to clean the seats and cup holders, unless you want to chance leaving sticky and putting your drink cup into unknown liquid. The convenience is great. The facility needs more staffing to handle regular cleaning. At times, expect a lengthy wait at the concession counter. That area is always understaffed. read more

I won free amc movie passes at work and finally decided to use them. We were able to choose our seats ahead of time which was awesome. Something new I've never experienced before. The movie room was spacious and the seats reclined! How cool. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Never in a million years did I think the regency AMC would be my go to movie watching spot. But with the improvements they made to the seating it's the only place I go to watch movies now. I love being able to relax in the reclining leather seats and relax because there is no one directly in front of me or behind me. I love the reserved seating as well so you never have to worry if there will be the right amount of seats you need next to each other. read more

Went to a movie at this location today ticketing process was fairly easy however when ordering food my order was mixed up and given to another Patron so I had to wait an additional 5 -10 minutes for them to re-cook my order. This cayses me to miss the previews to my movie. Also my recliner was broken in theater 20 seat number F10 so I had to move over to another seat. Theater is fairly clean however some of the seats have wear and tear. read more

I hate assigned seating! Why do theaters think people want this? When I go to see a movie, I get there early and find a seat which puts me as close as possible (vertically and horizintally) to the center of the screen. Theaters have different dimensions, angles of floors, screen sizes and heights. This makes it impossible to choose a seat ahead of time and be assured of being centered on the screen. This theater by far has the best seats in town with recliner chairs, choose ahead seating and the option to enjoy a beer during the movie. We rarely go anywhere else simply because if you're going to pay an arm and a leg for the movies, you might as well be super comfy while watching. read more

I was very nervous about going here for a movie recently. I mean it's Regency. My hopes were not that high. I don't know of any other theater that offers reserved seating, but it's a great idea and takes out the need to get there so early to make sure you get a good seat. The recliners are the best. Very comfortable with leather and electric reclining control. My feet did get in the way a bit, but I didn't mind so much. Being that it's Regency, I expected there to be some loud people who just didn't care about anyone but themselves, and there was. Groups of people kept coming in and out well after the movie had started and were talking loudly and laughing like nobody else was there. Security did come in to control them. I would still go back just for the assigned seating and recliners. read more

I'm only giving it a 2-star because the reclining chairs are nice. Too bad the seats were not clean, and food was in between the seats. I get being a premier customer, but there was not enough staff today for concessions. We missed the beginning of our movie because we kept getting skipped. Plenty of parking, pleather (but comfortable) seats that recline, you can pre-select your seating, plenty of theatres, self checkout kiosks, haven't had any bad experiences. Sometimes you have no option to buy tickets other than through a machine, this is my only complaint. They seem to work okay, but they're actually slower than human employees, and people need jobs anyway. read more

The new theater is incredible I love the seats! But I paid extra to see a 3D movie because there was very little seating available in the regular theater . you purposely pick your location and seats but no one is in there to make sure that everyone is sitting in there correct seats . so I ended up having to sit in a handicap spot because my seats were taken and the movie had already started . read more

Pros: Comfortable seats, self serve butter for popcorn, self serve Coca Cola freestyle with hundreds of options for drinks Cons: LONG lines, automated ticket machines don't work, seats sell out quickly, pricey concessions, rude staff, fees to purchase tickets online, no discount codes or coupons available, low parking availability, crowded, seated next to strangers that smoke/cough etc. Me, my husband and my 3 year old arrived on Saturday for a matinee. I read yelp reviews online about the comfortable seating and figured this would be a great opportunity for my son to see his FIRST MOVIE!!! (The Good Dinosaur!) We arrived at 10:30AM for an 11:20AM showing. LOTS of time to get tickets, get concessions, get seated and comfortable. Upon arrival, we saw no less than 50 people standing in line at the ticket counter with ONE, I can count on one finger, ONE ticket cashier. We looked to the left and saw 4 automated machines with a long line as well, so we opted that would be quicker. We wasted 15 mins in line at the automated ticket machine, just for that machine to be out of paper and not able to purchase our tickets. We then tried another machine which said that no tickets were available for our show?? It's a matinee kids move that's been out for a MONTH! We shuffle over to the regular line. Each checkout is taking SEVERAL minutes! The cashier is SUPER chatty and explains the assigned seating to EVERYONE checking out. We wait 30 minutes and finally our turn to purchase tickets. At this point it's 5 minutes to the show and it's sold out?! She shows us the stadium and there's only like 20-25 seats. She then offers us 3 front row end seats, which we gratefully accept. My husband went to the theater to get seated and I went to the concession stand. $25 for one large drink, one popcorn, and one nachos. Awful! At least we get one free refill, and the coca cola freestyle machine is awesome! Overall the experience was... negative. Front row section is awful, although the seats are comfortable, I sat next to a heavy smoker that coughed the whole time. Very disappointed with the lack of staffing at the box office, and the wasted time we spent on broken machines. Management was not helpful and we will not be back. $50 spent at a theater that does NOT care about their patrons, only profit. read more

Awesome being able to select your own seating when purchasing tickets! This advantage alone makes me want to return over and over again! Add in a bar at the entrance, and extra wide comfy reclining seats throughout, I'm a lifetime customer! Alright, I love this theatre, I do! However, I wish they would step up their viewer strictness. By that I mean, I wish they'd kick more misbehaving kids out of the movie, or at least give warnings. I've had to deal with families bringing toddlers (with light up shoes) into PG13 movies, like Jurassic World, and then letting the child run around. Even after complaining during the movie, nothing was done. The reason why I'm giving it a four star rather than three rating is because after the movie when I confronted the manager again they gave me a free voucher and were very apologetic and polite about it. That went a long way with me. In addition, the theatre is kept clean and those recliners are super nice. And just an fyi, movies in IMAX have traditional seats. read more
