I have been to this movie theater so many times that I lost count. I love the fact that I can purchase my tickets and pick my seats online before going. I love the rewards program because I always get a free upgrade on popcorn and drink. Sometimes I have actual cash Rewards I can use towards my purchase as well. When you walk up to the concession stand, there's a line to the right for Rewards members only and then the line to the left for all other customers. Just like the airport, they have a line for Priority customers and "regular" customers. You pay extra to get served first in essence, however, it doesn't always work that way at this movie theater. Also, there has been a time or two where I had to ask for fresh popcorn because what they gave me tasted as if it had been sitting for awhile. The movie theater it self is fairly clean so I'm pretty comfortable while I'm reclined in the seats watching the movie. One time over the summer, the movie went out for a quick second due to a thunder storm but I just went to the customer service stand and they gave me a complimentary ticket to use whenever I wanted. I will try Tinseltown Movie Theater next week to compare to this AMC. read more

Every movie theater in town should follow the lead of AMC Regency for the best movie experience. Each theater have huge comfy leather power reclining seats. Even at full reclined position, there is still plenty of room for people to walk by. I also like the fact that I can reserve my seat on-line. This AMC is an interesting mix of a chain theater with an upscale boutique experience. On one hand you get the standard issue popcorn at ridiculous prices. On the other hand, a full liquor bar and power reclining seats. I've seen a couple of movies here and enjoyed it. There's rarely a wait to get tickets or into the theater itself. The one drawback, which frankly surprised me with the advent of assigned seating, were the theater hoppers. I've had to politely ask squatters to get out of my seat, so make sure you have your ticket handy to prove your claim. read more

First, it's a movie theater. What do you expect?? Prices are high. For everything. Outside of that, the AMC Regency is an OK theatre. I live closer to the OP theater, but I prefer the lounger seats and to be honest, AMC Regency doesn't seem packed. It had a bad rap, in my book, due to reports of violence and kiddos acting crazy, but I've never felt unsafe. I do like the assigned seats because I don't feel like I have to rush to get a good seat and know my whole group can sit together for opening day movies. So far I've chosen AMC Regency over OP 4 times in the last few months. EPIC is now open in Oakleaf, but it's smaller. I'll have to check it out one day soon. read more

OKAY REGENCY, I see you! Massive changes since I've been here years ago and they're great! I normally go to Tinseltown since it's a lot closer to me, but I was quite impressed by AMC this go-around. Like I said I haven't been here in years. Maybe since 2010? I've heard about the many improvements but this blew me away! First, parking was a bit of a hassle, but was understandable for a Saturday night. The line was quite long, with only two windows open, so decided to use the self serve kiosk which was a breeze. We get inside and I felt like my eyes were literally going to pop out my head. So many changes! Looks a lot more upscale than back in the day and the Bar?! Quite nice. I passed up a drink- this time! The concession's line wasn't bad, and the selection was abundant. Disappointed at how pricey everything was, but that's what's expected with theatres. Self serve drinks are a great idea, but it was very messy and who knows what everyone touched before me?? The salted caramel popcorn was DELICIOUS! I wish they had smaller sizes because I have half that bucket still waiting for me to finish it. Don't worry, it's in a zip-lock bag! Into the room, and the seats were so comfortable and super roomy! My only complaint was that we had to wipe off some popcorn from the previous screening. Not a bad experience, asides from the cleanliness and prices, I may return! read more

I love the reserve sitting! I don't like their IMAX Experience though. I feel like it has the worse sound compared to Regal's RPX and Cinemark's XD offerings. The seats is also worse on AMC IMAX theater compared to Cinemark and Regal. However, the hidden gem on AMC is their general non-3D/IMAX screens. Unlike their IMAX screens, seats are only available with recliners. I wish they upgrade their IMAX screen with recliners too. I get they're trying to pack as many people in that theater, but I've never seen it halfway full. AMC is the extremely on the top and the bottom of the three cinemas I frequent to. This theater has really gone down hill. The seats are torn up and taped together which really makes for an uncomfortable viewing experience. The screen seems small, as does the theaters. Paying almost $14 for the tickets I would have hoped would have been a guarantee the theater itself would be better than the theater down the street charging less. Sorry AMC, your credibility has gone way down in my opinion. This will probably be our last visit here. read more

Overall this theater is okay. When I got my popcorn it looked full but after I added the butter and shake the bag, it was only 3/4 full. No biggie, I asked them to top it off. I saw a movie that was playing on the IMAX screen so I didn't get to sit in the nice big recliners. Some of the chairs had lots of stains on them and looks like it needs to be replaced. The cup holders were a bit weird. It's slanted so that means your drink will slant forward... not sure why as this is the first amc I've ever seen this in. As long as you're careful, you're good. I had stayed away from this theater cause I've heard it's in a bad area but it was actually ok. We went early in the day and it was full of families. So no need to worry. We also purchased our tickets online and was able so choose our seats. So no more going early to wait in line for the best seats. Don't forget to sign up for the stubs rewards. It's free but if you want to be treated like VIPs and get better and faster rewards then you can pay for the Stubs premiere rewards for $15/yr. read more

Their IMAX Theater: Purchased a ticket(on-line) to view "Inhumans" at AMC Regency 24 (9451 Regency Square Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32225).The concession staff was pleasant / fleet. Upon entering the IMAX Theatre, 20 minutes before the showing, nothing was on the screen and the room was pitch black. I had to go back towards the hallway door so I could read my seat information. I then had to turn on my Phone Flashlight to see where I was walking and find my seat. Once I could see the inside of the theatre I understood why they kept it dark. It was the most filthy disgusting theater I have ever been to in the 57 years of my life. Chair arms seemed to be pushed/bent down further than their normal position. The cloth seats and cloth seat backs were mostly stained and didn't look like they had been cleaned in years. I have walked out on a playing movie about a handful of times in my life, but this is the first time I walked out of a theater before the trailers have even started to play. I visited Guest Services and I explained my disappointment in the facilities and requested a refund. The only success I see from this property is their Staff that they have hired. The young man in Guest Services was polite and very apologetic for the lack of a clean environment. He promptly refunded my ticket cost. Your company should not wait another minute in scheduling a facilities upgrade to this location. Until this can be done, I strongly suggest that you hire an outside cleaning service to Steam / Dry clean the theater or close it to public access. read more

Nowadays going to movies is very expensive, God! I am not cheap but the price to buy a pop corn and soda to enjoy the movie are outrageous! Well, I paid for it because I love to watch my movie with my soda and pop corn. I did it ok back to the review about this place. I like it because it's huge, clean, even the bathrooms are clean. The seat are very comfortable and the air conditioning is just right to feel cozy with my pop corns and soda. I watched The Curse if La llorona. I like it. I will back over and over again to watch the movies and...I'm gonna try to find out especial offers to get my pop corn and soda, maybe the offer something that I do not now yet. read more

AMC at Regency Square is my go to Cinema place most of the time. Their lounge seating is probably the best in town and even with Cinemark upgrading it's seating as well, I'd give AMC a 5-star for the seating. You never have problem with the legroom or people kicking your hands hands away, fighting for the hand rests. There is always enough parking even during crowded weekends. Parking lot is always under police patrol during the late night hours and give you a safe feeling when you come out from watching those late night shows. I also love their Soda/Drink stations where you can get unlimited refills on large drinks. They also carry a wide variety of food options - though too pricey. My favorite is their chicken tenders and curly fries combo. The curly fries are the bomb and surely satisfy your tummy! read more

Just went to movie The movie is just part of the experience. 2 tickets $24.. No refills on popcorn (how easy would it be to use disposable paper bags) $6. Small Popcorn. Ice cold just over half full. This theatre has definitely upped the ante when it comes to movie-going: reclining seats, RESERVED reclining seats, full bar, more food options. Prices for food/beverages seem on par with other major movie chains. Definitely a fan of all the changes they've made, but as others have observed some issues with the cleanliness of different snack stations. We happened to be there for an early movie, so the bar wasn't opened just yet. Oh well, maybe next time. Definitely keeping this theatre on my radar more often when we actually go out to see a movie. read more

This theater is terrible! We normally go to Cinemark Tinseltown which is a great theater. These seats are awful. We got the last two seats which were on the end of the back row. We could not see about 2 feet of the bottom of the screen because of a wall in front of us and my husband could not see part of the side of the screen because of another wall that was in the way on the left of the theater. Plus the theater smells terrible. Never again! read more

Decent theater. Usually pretty clean and haven't had any problems with the theater in years. They have been slowly updating different parts of the theater and now have a bar for alcohol. The ticket prices at this location are a little higher than everywhere else, including the AMC at orange park. The last time I went I think the IMAX sound system was getting a little weak, but I heard that they updated it since I was last in there. Overall it's your standard movie theater. Nothing stands out, but nothing is really wrong. Go on the weekdays to avoid the crowds and high ticket prices. read more

It had been nearly a decade since I visited this theater and I have to admit that I am very impressed with the upgrade to the facilities. The one thing that still needs work is the concessions system they have. Apparently, there is an express lane and it is a very confusing system. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to the order in which they call you up. The theaters are equipped with recliners and if you are seated in the middle (there are assigned seats), it is tough to navigate through the row with snacks around the recliners. It was a positive experience overall, I just wish I didn't have to stand in the concessions line for so long. read more

The screen is a perfect size and the temperature was fine with me but mom got a little chilly. She always brings a sweater just in case so she was fine. I've been here 4 times in 2 months and it get dirtier each time. Outside is littered with trash. I mean it's everywhere. The soda machine area is even worse. They do not clean the theater in between shows so be prepared to have trash everywhere. There was sweat stains on my seat. The whole place is just gross. Don't even get me started on the bathrooms. They have air hand dryers. You will straight up get AIDS if you put your hand in there to dry your hands. The entire place needs to be cleaned. I feel like Batman's parents when I'm walking back to my car after a late movie. I'm just waiting to be robbed or shot. read more

Ok, soft plush recliners in every theater!? Heck yes! When I heard that this place actually considers the comfort of patrons, without increasing the price, I knew it was the place I needed to go watch a flick this weekend. It's a surprisingly nice theater in a surprisingly shady area of town and kind of feels out of place in the area. This is a recently renovated theater and has pulled out all the stops from a full bar to recliners that you may just fall asleep on. It's important to know that you absolutely need to get your tickets far ahead of time for any show. We showed up 45 minutes early for a movie which had been out a week and only the very first row had seats available. Even with your seat reclined to a gloriously flat sleeping position, being on the front row can give you nausea. The theater serves alcohol and has some nice decor but everything seems to be slowly wearing down and peeling up at the edges despite trying to keep a high-end look. In this area it feels a bit like trying to put makeup on a pig. The overall effect is okay but you never lose the sense that you're not in a nice area of the city. It's by far the best theater in the city and how can you beat the recliners but it's not perfect and I wish I could pick it up and move it to St. John's county. read more

We stopped coming here about ten years ago because of poor management and it being overrun by unruly and rude teenagers. We heard it was better and took another chance today. We typically drive much further to go to a Regal theater or head to San Marco. We were shocked at how much nicer it was. Lines were not long and you can purchase tickets through a kiosk. We chose assigned seats in advance, which was great. We accidentally picked front row seats and they quickly fixed that for us. Food prices weren't great, just like virtually every theater, but free refills are definitely a nice touch. They have a full bar now, which most theaters don't offer, but expect high prices there too. When we got to the theater for our movie, wow! Those reclining chairs are awesome. Totally comfortable and adjustable, you feel like you're watching a movie in a really good home theater. Propping your feet up is great, and the width and snack/drink setup is perfect so you aren't close to strangers even when sitting next to them. We had a really comfortable experience where we will start using AMC as our primary theater now. What a difference! read more
