My favorite theater by far. Reclining seats! Need I say more?! No bad experiences here except once the AC was out in a theater for a few minutes of film. Didn't bother me. Went & saw The Color Purple. Everything seemed fine until the movie started, and we realized that the sound wasn't even loud enough to fill the room. A couple people went out to complain to staff, but nothing changed. Ruined the movie experience. Don't want to risk going back, especially with the price of movies these days. read more

We finally were able to see a movie after not stepping foot into a movie theater since covid started. I thought since maybe the theaters would have less occupancy the place would be cleaner but nope. Restrooms are still messy and almost every stall is always dirty. My seat had grease or butter on it when I arrived.. I've been going to this theater for a long time. Ever since I got my AMC STUBBS A List I go twice, sometimes 3 times a week (I've gone around 50 times this year alone). During the week the theater is well kept, decently clean. Weekends things do tend to get a little messy but I've seen the staff try their best to keep up. I've brought several issues up to the staff (ie chairs malfunctioning, torn, the elevator not working, sound off in a theater, lights still on in the theater, toilets not working properly, ect) & I can say the staff listened. I've had trouble with my seating/tickets & I've never had an issue with exchanges or refunds. This staff has also been more than welcoming & accommodating to my service dog. Sometimes I do run into an issue but the staff has always been kind. I'm not saying bad experiences at this theater don't happen but for me I've always had a good (or decent) experience. EDIT: 10.20.19 - I had noticed that my ticket did not match the movie time posted. I brought this up to the staff when I arrived. They apologized then explained it was an error on their part. The theater in general would normally get 4 stars, but the horrible bartender At McGuffins brought the experience down a couple stars. First, without any acknowledgment of our presence, she ignored my wife and me for a minute or so while she moved some bottles around. When she was done, she finally walked over and just stood and looked at us with her hands on her hips. No smile, no hello, no nothing. We both ordered Amaretto sours and she mixed them horribly. Either she had a personal problem with us or she needs some serious training in customer service and mixing drinks. read more

So I paid $25 a ticket to see (5:00pm) Star Wars Rise of Skywalker and enjoyed the movie but lobby has to do something. We got there and traffic was horrible but had twenty five minutes to spare. Only one person scanning phones so it took awhile. Bobby was very friendly though and tried as quick as possible. If you looked around though ... tons of employees standing. Maybe waiting for shift. Then concessions, only one person working it. Another long line and staff just walking around. Pretty sure I saw a manager walking from an office and back and didn't even try to help. Been going to this theatre since I was a kid. Pretty consistent I would say. The employees working will get you what you need and keep it pushing. I completely respect that. Maybe in an ideal world somewhere, instead of telling us where our auditorium is, they say "don't worry baby we goin' find your seat", take our outstretched hand, and be the guiding beacon we badly need in this life. Maybe they'd tuck us into the recliner with a warm blanket and feed us popcorn by hand. Maybe in Universe 587 but not here sorry. Here, a great experience comes thru in the way that this is just about the safest environment you can be in while in close proximity to working teenagers. Considering we came to this AMC theater after encountering mold minutes before at a different location, they're okay in my book. I really enjoyed the automatic reclining seats, and for the most part everything was pretty clean. On our way out of our theater, we passed up 2 men's and 1 family restroom before we spotted the women's restroom. Wassup with that? Kind of a weird layout. Any way, that's all. My wife and I came here to see the new Marvel movie on IMAX. The theater was clean but as with most movie theaters the concessions are criminal. We paid $22 for a pretzel and a drink. The IMAX theater was poorly designed, we were in row F and the wall separating each aisle was too high and cut off the bottom of the screen, and since this movie had subtitles at times I was constantly having to get up just to read the subtitles, not a lot of thought put in to the design of their precious IMAX theater. The theater itself was fine, but the lack of thought put into the design of their IMAX seating and the raping that they do at the concessions bar is ridiculous, that's why they get two stars. read more

My go to movie theater! It's in a great location, easy to get to, and plenty of parking. The reclining seats are great and if they don't work, a worker comes to your theater and fixes something in the back of the chair to get it going. I don't mind having to purchase my tickets/reserve my seat(s) in advance. Booking tickets is super easy and depending on what movie & how soon it came out, booking an hour in advance will do. I always have gotten a seat in the back (my preference) & have never sat any closer to the screen. I have the AMC app or you can book through Fandango - both are super easy, just show your phone. If you go to the movies a lot (particularly AMC), I highly recommend you get the Stubs premier membership. It's $15/yr and you get expedited service at the concession stand + $5 ticket Tuesdays + free popcorn & drink upgrade, etc. When I've had to buy my tickets at the box office, lines never took long and employees have always been helpful, especially when I first got my Premier membership and wasn't sure how it worked. read more

Lean back. Went with some friends for a 10 am showing of Wonder Woman. Was a lot apprehensive because I stooped frequenting movie theaters because of loud people talking and just cleanliness. Things have changed. There were assigned seats and all the seats reclined. (Which can be a good and bad thing lol). The staff was friendly, restrooms and theaters were clean and no talking. Winning. My friend pre-purchased the tickets so she was able to pick our seats (I'd recommend that). The only part that can be tricky is getting out of the row during the movie - there isn't a lot of leg room when everyone is reclined. Overall it was a great experience. Going to movies at AMC used to be great fun for my family. For the past few months (6-9 months) I have noticed the volume in all of the movies has been raised to levels that make watching a movie unenjoyable. I have asked for the volume to be lowered and they do lower it, but I shouldn't have to do this for most movies I see here. This spans all movie types, except for 3D. I don't watch those. I have used a decibel meter on my phone and it shows volume levels between 68 and 74 dB. If you don't like movie volumes being extremely loud, steer clear of here. read more

I visited North Houston.It was Tuesday.I was supposed to watch a movie for $5 because of my membership of AMC.I bought a ticket of " They shall not grow old."I had to pay around $11.I was not sure the reason.But the regular price was around $16.I still had some discount. The AMC was located near freeway and FM 1960.I saw a lot of parking spots.My seat was great.It looked like a VIP seat. I have suggestions for improvements. Popcorn are everywhere on the floor.People in Texas has a slogan" Don't mess with Texas".But most of the movie theaters were so mess.People were cleaning.Probably, it is an issue of " moral vacuum" of the movie fans.We are not kids.We learned how to eat popcorn. I watched "Planet of the Apes". This is a comfy theatre. The chairs recline,which is like enjoying a movie from your home recliner. The soda machines are amazing and filled with a variety,plus you can go to the bar or get an icee. The movie was slow,and a tear jerker,but this theater is a fun one to come to. read more

Some staff was very polite. Two at the concession stand weren't impolite but were joking around and doing a 1 person job while I was waiting in line. Joking is ok in the work place, as long as the customer is put first. Break off from the joking around, attend the customer, then go back to joking around if you can. Everyone's happy. However, I gave this theater a 3 star bc the popcorn was EXTREMELY salty! And it got me sick. So that was annoying. Maybe don't douse the popcorn with salt? And perhaps upgrade your butter? $13 a ticket is a little pricey for my taste but it was my Solo day/night out, like in the wise words of Donna and Tom from "Parks and Rec"....Treat Yo' Self day! I didn't want to bother anyone to watch "Crazy Rich Asians". Kids would lose their minds, mom don't speak English too well and my girl friends were too busy enjoying a night at La Bare's GNO. (I was too tired to participate). I did get a kids pack, small popcorn and a small drink with gummies (I do not like gummies BTW) But the pack was perfect for just me and no one else to share with. AMC now offers refills so I did have to end up getting a refill during the movie. So lastly, what made this worth $13!? The premium seating! Words cannot explain the comfort I felt at 11:15 PM with my yoga pants and my over-sized hoodie as I reclined with my feet propped up with my drink on the left and my popcorn to my right and watching this RomCom with tears and laughter. I cannot wait to keep coming during the winter time with my blanket and slippers on a large comfy reclinable couch and enjoy a good movie. read more

Reclining seats are still in pretty good shape. As with any large theater the lines are going to be kinda long weekends & film opening nights. Prices are pretty much the same as everywhere else. They can do a better job with cleaning up the place. But I mean, hey...it's a bunch of high school/early college students mainly working here. Just a note to whoever's managing the place. Try to get the service & housekeeping up to a good level. Just like the now standard, the delivery service for food & drink are available, but you're paying too much for it IMO. I'd say the best time to come is on off days or for early shows. Their kiosks help you move it indoors pretty quick. read more

Only reason I am giving it two stars is because of the staff and confortable seats and was not very dirty like other cinemas. Other than that, the area ruins this cinema. Good luck trying to watch a movie comfortably and walking outside comfortably without the feeling of being robbed or shot. While watching a movie, a police officer came in the theater and made an arrest on a criminal, and no hate to the officer just doing his job but that shows how dangerous and uncomfortable this area the cinema is in. I enjoy a good picture show, but not when it comes to most of all the soda machines being out of ice and soda concentrate. Its like I am on a wild goose chase for something to drink. Where do I begin, let's start with the fact that I purchase all my tickets on line so I can walk or shall I say skip right pass all the lines. I love, love, love, the fact that the theatre has upgraded their seats to theatre seats, and that they have reserved seating. Yes reserved seating is now a popular thing, but the luxury of these recliner seats, and they are leather clean and free of debris, gum, and food is a plus in my book. Tickets are a little pricey, but I will pay for quality, comfort, and satisfaction over cheapness. Now the down side is, this is the second occasion, I have visited and the women's bathroom needs some attending too. Not your average paper is out of order, I mean some women can be just nasty and not clean up behind themselves, and there would be no complaints if I hadn't visited that bathroom before and after the movie and it still had not been addressed. This is also the second visit where the lobby and concession stand can stand some additional cleaning, the first time the manager explained they were under staffed and it was going to be handled, so this time I left it completely alone cause I'm sure and excused would be in his favor, and since I don't eat at the movies or sleep in the bathroom stalls, I will keep it moving. Establishment is in a strip with plenty to do and accommodate your eventful outing, there is plenty of parking space around the building and plenty of lightning for safety. Location is great, for there is a lot of other places to visit, shop, and dine at if this strip doesn't excite you. read more

So my Girl and I decided to see Magic Mike 2 this weekend and Yelped the nearest theater to our hotel and up pops the AMC Willowbrook 24. I enjoyed the theater and must say the comfortable/plush seats were a plus. It took me a minute within the dark theater to realize that other patrons were reclined back and this theater was very Clean which upped this place to Four stars. The location seems great next to Willowbrook mall, PF Changs and Pappadeauxs and had a reasonably priced concession stand. While Magic Mike got the old ladies off, I wanted to see more Flesh but that's for another review. All in all, it was a decent movie since I haven't seen One and don't have much to compare it too. Jada Pinkett was entertaining and Channing definitely had me jumping out of my seat... I'm a Fan and would return if I'm in the Houston area. This theater will always hold a special place in my heart... It was my first job as a teenager! It has come a long way from those awful uniforms I had to wear during my employment. Of course the food has gotten a major upgrade, not to mention the reclining seats and of course... The PRICE!!! YIKES. We're not as frequent as we used to be and it's because it's expensive to go to the movies nowadays, so it's more of a treat than a "I'm bored, let's go to the movies" kind of thing. From the food, to the seating (reserved) the climate and level of noise, it's always been great. Since I order everything beforehand, from the tickets to the food, there's minimal interaction with the staff. Definitely enjoy coming to the movies on a Sunday morning. I've been coming to this theatre since I was a kid. AMC is pretty good about keeping up with the trends, as they now have reclining seats, food delivery to your seat, and a bar. Personally, I think they have the most comfortable chairs of all the competing theaters, with just the right amount of space between them and the isle. Tickets are expensive but they do offer a military discount after 4 p.m. The new reclining seats are comfortable and you don't have to worry about someone behind you kicking your seat. I like that you can reserve seats - just be careful because some people do not care and they will sit anywhere. The bar is ok but the drinks are weak and overpriced. My biggest problem with this theater: the restroom; they are disgusting. It smells like someone sprayed urine scented air freshener. I found a cockroach in there too. Gas station restrooms are cleaner. They over charge on everything (tickets, alcohol, food) so you figure they would have the money to pay someone to clean their restrooms. It's been almost two years since the last time I was here. It is newly renovated! My boyfriend took me yesterday to watch Zootopia 3D. We went an hour & half earlier there to buy the tickets and reserve seats. We didn't buy our tickets online becaude we wanted to avoid the processing fee. And since it was Thursday night. There was not many people there. Inside when we walked in I was surprised to see how much it changed. They had self-serve drinks and self-serve icee machines. Bathrooms are cleaner too. Watched Star Wars: Episode VII here. Very nice place with good sized theaters and comfy chairs. The place was clean and the staff was on their best behavior for some reason. Maybe their boss is a Sith and threatened them. Who knows? Obviously this place is great for date nights or family outings.
