I was told about ameco from my neighbor and called them to give us a price on solar panels for our 2,500sqft home. They were one of 4 estimates that we received and they came in right in the middle which is one of the reasons i chose them(do not take the cheapest guy!). We were told the process will take 2 months but it ended up getting done in 3 weeks so we were happy about that. The installation took 2 days and it was non invasive we didn't even know they were there! One week after we installed, LADWP came out and gave us the permission to turn on the system and we flipped the switch! I am very pleased with the entire process and how ameco ran our project. I was referred to AMECO by my next door neighbor who just used them as well as his in laws. Both him and his family had a great experience with them. I took three bids for the job. From the financial aspect, AMECO was the cheapest. 40k less than the highest bid. I'm a pretty busy guy so it was helpful that most of the consults and meetings were able to be done over the phone. The process was pretty straightforward and didn't really take away from much of my time. Having a construction background I can tell you that the contractors AMECO are very professional and top notch. They do great work and you will not be having to pick up water bottles or Del Taco trash at the end of the day. The extra electrical boxes that come with solar can be unsightly. But the way they did my layout and conduit work, it came out looking super clean and tidy. Communication with the office staff was always professional and helpful. They completed my installation just a few days ago and did a beautiful job from start to finish. Their crew was not only highly organized and hard working but they were very careful on our cement tile roof. They managed to get their rack brackets underneath the tiles with surgical precision. In case you're wondering they then put the tiles back once the rails were attached. The rails were bolted to the roof rafters for extra stability, not just the plywood roof sheathing. When they were finished they picked up their debris (roofing nails, packaging, and conduit cut off's, etc) and made sure the area was spotless. When I called their office I had a bunch of pre installation questions and Idan or Jazmina had the answers or get back to me within a few minutes. This is a well run quality business. One of the micro-inverters in our solar panels failed. We called AMECO who ordered a replacement to be drop-shipped to our house. AMECO followed up shortly to confirm that we received the new micro-inverter and sent a technician to our home the next day to install. The initial installation was outstanding. Everything was done on time, and very professional installation and follow-up. A panel failed from the get go, and found out the warranty is covered only by the manufacturer ( LG), and not Ameco ( middleman). At first, the project manager initiated a return ticket with LG. Then after weeks, still did not have a time frame for repairs. Later, he didn't even reply to Emails or calls. Found out he either was fired or quit. After 3 months of going back and fourth, the replacement was delivered at my house. A week later, Ameco send a technician and replaced the panel. The tech was very professional and did an excellent job. I want to give them an extra 1/2 a star but cannot. So its 4 1/2 STARS. I would use and recommend this company again. read more

Our solar adventure started with a couple of mishaps and when I figured out that DWP had a solar marketplace I went through them to find Ameco Solar. This team is wonderful! Angelica was our project manager and was incredibly communicative and helpful throughout the whole process. They moved through the permit process quickly and with ease. I was told to expect the permitting to take 5 weeks to a few months and they were ready to move into installation three weeks after the initial permits were submitted! Angelica took care of everything for us. From the permitting to the scheduling to requesting the permission to operate from DWP. We just sat back and watched them work! I can't recommend Ameco highly enough. 5/5 would recommend them to anyone looking to add solar to their home. The other companies we had looked at before going onto the marketplace were shady and trying to get the tax benefits for the equipment. I went with this company because there are a few good reviews on yelp and their sales representative is quite responsive. The experience after that is declining every few weeks. Contract was signed on July 4th and I paid on schedule ASAP. It became a very very slow moving process after that. They finally submitted the permit to the city (Irvine) on the week of September 1st. It is 10 weeks since then and there is really no progress. I checked with them multiple times, it is always "a minor change" by the City and approval will be received next week. Worst of all, you need to follow through your email to get response. Honestly, I am not sure if they really submitted the paper work since they don't include any attachment in email. I think there should be mutual trust between the customer and vendor. However, my trust in this company is near 0 at this moment. read more

No electrical issues. - Inspection on 2/4/2022; Yazmina was able to expedite earlier than expected; Joaquin passed with flying colors! This was a tough inspector (aren't the all) that wanted us to confirm other things not related to the solar panels! - Received Permission to Operate (PTO) from SCE on 2/9/2022; Danel, Yazmina's team effort with submitting applications so I didn't need to do it! - Final call 2/10/2022; Logan helped with solar monitoring and answered all of my questions! Run - -do not walk AWAY from this company. Under the original owner, this company had the well-deserved reputation of excellent customer service and solar system expertise. The company has since changed hands twice and has become just the opposite. I have two solar PV systems which were purchased from the original company. Now that I need service on the system I am told that they will not service my system as it contains equipment that they no longer sell - - something as typical as a SunnyBoy (SMA) inverter will no longer be serviced by them as they currently are selling a different brand. I found this hard to believe so I questioned whether they would service my panels and was told they no longer sell this brand so the answer was NO. If you buy from AMECO today and subsequently need service, you better hope that they are still selling the brand of equipment they sold you or you are just out of luck. read more
