Amelia Street Pizza is a nice spot for NY style pizza. There is minimal bar seating, so I would suggest planning on getting takeout. They only have 18" cheese or pepperoni pizzas. You could also try their ranch or madam dipping sauces. For dessert, they also have a 1/4 lb chocolate chip cookie. The service is average, but people complain that their wait times can be long. We went at around 4pm on a Saturday and it took 20 minutes which was not bad, but I could imagine waiting much longer during a regular meal time. We got a cheese pizza and a cookie. The pizza was exactly what we were looking for. It had that NY thin pizza crust that was crisp. There could have been a bit more sauce, but other than that it was great. They dusted half the pizza with some shredded cheese which was completely unnecessary, and if I come again, I would specifically request for them to skip that since I did not enjoy the half of the pizza with the extra cheese. The cookie was big, but not as big as I thought it would be. I cut it in half for us to share, but I definitely could have finished it alone. It was delicious, but it was clearly underbaked. Overall, the food was good but overpriced for what it was. I don't think I'll be a regular here, but I could see myself coming back every once in a while.

Second time having Amelia street pizza but first time dining in. This is probably my new favorite pizza in Michigan. Friendly staff and there wasn't too long of a wait for the pizza. Limited seating inside but plenty of parking out front.

Good vibes, good energy, good pizza. What more could you want! Menu is simple but well executed. Pizza and cookie were delicious. We will come back here for sure!

So excited to try this viral pizza. I have followed since I saw it going viral yrs ago on tik tok and Instagram. I never got a drop but I sure tried. Now there is a location, my husband went at the end of the day and waited about 45 mins. The pizza looked amazing. The half moon pecorino crust was a nice touch. The crunch was very satisfying. The secret sauce was a welcome addition. Highly recommend. They make their own ranch as well. My husband tried it. We also got the salted chocolate chip cookies. A delicious end to the meal! I will have to go back and see them make it in person soon!

Got one of each pizza, both sauces, and of course the cookie! Everything was delicious! Definitely will be back again! Also, didn't catch the girl at the counters name when I ordered but she was great too and extremely helpful!

Small menu but everything on it is perfect. The 2 sauces complement the pizzas perfectly. Don't skip the cookies either. High quality ingredients and attention to detail make this place stand out. Easily in my top 3 pizzas in metro Detroit.

Pizza has a great taste. Everything about it is good but the dough sets it apart. Great texture and taste. The ranch was also very good. It reminded me similar to cottage inn ranch (I love cottage inn ranch). The madam sauce I did not like. Then you can't forget the cookie. They are delicious and pretty soft. !!!DISCLAIMER!!! If you want a fast pizza, go to little ceasars. It's a unique place and there's gonna be a wait.

If you're wondering whether this place is worth the hype, it absolutely is! We stopped by while visiting Michigan for a family event and were so impressed. The pizza was made with fresh, quality ingredients, wasn't overly greasy, and had the perfect thin, crispy crust that held up beautifully. Every bite was delicious. Don't skip the cookie either it was soft, chewy, tasted like a brown butter chocolate chip cookie, and had the perfect touch of flaky sea salt. We come back to Michigan a few times a year, and this has officially earned a spot on our must-visit list. Highly recommend!

    Pepp pizza

Came in around 5pm on a Thursday. Small line outside that moved quickly. Had pizza in hand in about 35 mins. 0 critiques for the food itself... it is the best NY style pie I've had in Michigan. Both sauces are also killer. A pepp pie is $28 which is a little steep, but you definitely taste the quality.

Louis is the best Detroit style pizza in Metro Detroit…read more The crust is soft and doughy in the best way possible but still retains a nice crunch on the edge, the amount of cheese is generous, and the toppings are almost marinaded in the deliciously sweet pizza sauce. The result is a mouthwatering pie-like pizza that you're not getting anywhere else. If you want a lot of topping options, Louis isn't for you, it's far more limited than competitors, but I would argue they perfect the basics. The interior is charming in a straight out of the 1970s sort of way. The dining area can get pretty loud but the noise level is friendly and it's great being in a full restaurant surrounded by other people having a good time. There's a strong community feeling you don't get in sterile, corporate chains or local takeout spots. Despite my overwhelming praise for the pizzas they make, I also have to be honest. In the most charitable way possible, I hope that they can take some of their much deserved recent success and reinvest it back into the business because the front of house staff is regularly in over their heads. You can safely add 15 minutes to whatever time they quote you when placing your order. I had one order that was close to 30 minutes late and another that was missing all the extra sauces. As a result, pickup orders are very frustrating. The other criticism I have is that the parking lot is very crowded and routinely spills out into the surrounding streets. The lot size is limited, so not much they can do but they could work with the city to repave the lot and color label certain areas. I hope more people check out Louis. It is a gem.

This is really delicious pizza. We are blessed in this area with a lot of great Pizza, and obviously a lot of great Detroit style Pizza, however, this place does set the bar very high. It's obvious the ingredients are fresh and it's equally obvious that those that prepare this Pizza really care about what they're doing. They also have some really good gelato! The building is super cute, staff were really friendly. Unfortunately, can't say that I'm impressed by the pizza. My friend and I both ordered the Hot Honey Ricotta-Roni, one as is and the other no meat. We both felt the pizza lacked sauce and flavor. There was more bread to eat through than toppings and that was disappointing. For the pizza where no meat was requested and they said they couldn't do a substitution, you would've thought they'd add extra cheese or whatever other sauce they put on the pizza. I did request this over the phone but the background was extremely loud, so it may have been missed. Overall, the next time I visit Michigan, I'd be interested in trying another of their vegetarian pizzas to give it a shot. Thanks to the staff for being so friendly.

My wife first took me there in 1985. We had to go up to Detroit for a funeral. She grew up in Roseville so we always went to the one on 10 mile and Gratiot. This location was close to my hotel so I went by figured I'd grab a sub on the way to the airport. I had never been to this location before but they said they made steak sandwiches so I said give me a large one with everything on it which to me includes lettuce, tomato and banana peppers. The lady working behind the counter took outstanding care of me. She said it would take 10 minutes. I told her no problem you can't rush genius. We both laughed. She packaged this thing up nicely and I was out of there probably in less than 10 minutes. To say she took good care of me, felt like I was one of her kids cause that was the way my mom took care of me when I was little. I had to run a couple of other errands and finally got a chance to bite into it about 30 minutes later. Outstanding doesn't say enough. Definitely will hit this location again. Pro tip, if you're in the area, Saint Clair Shores has a great bakery, Bomarito's. If you need something sweet after the sub, they're a great place to go.

Tonight we ordered the large pizza with slab of ribs, fries, and coleslaw. We were informed that…read morethey were cooking more ribs but it would be two hours until they were finished (which would have been around 9pm) or they could give us 3/4 slab they had ready and reduce the price by $5. We decided to do that so we could eat dinner before 9pm, figuring they must sell a lot of ribs so they must be good. On the pizza, we ordered pepperoni/green pepper. After getting the order home, we discovered that the ribs looked more like just over 1/2 slab (8 bones starting at the small end of the slab) and were dry with lots of fat. Definitely needed more sauce because once you got past the initial thin coating, it was dry pork and endless chewing to try to process the dry meat. We all agreed we wouldn't order these again. Fries were OK, coleslaw was inedible, it had either gone bad or they added too much vinegar, either way no one ate more than a first bite and it got thrown away. We had ordered a pepperoni/green pepper pizza but received a ham and bacon one instead. We ate it anyway, although this combo isn't our thing, it was ok but the slices were cut so there were skinny slices mixed with larger ones. It would have been more helpful in dividing things out of they would have at least been more uniform. Some may ask why we didn't call back up there and correct the situation, but at this point we had just spent over $30 and the time it took to go up there, we decided to deal with what we had since the family was hungry. The place was empty when we picked up so not sure what was going on tonight. Two stars - one for the pizza and one to recognize them for trying to give us a deal for the ribs they had available at the time of our order. It's a bummer that this meal wasn't more of a hit.

I opted for the garlic fries upcharge, bringing my total to $19.00. Somehow I justified it because I like these toppings and these toppings weirdly weren't available on a pizza. Or at least I didn't see it via the phone based ordering system. Yes, that's right, this is all of the future check with wrist bands and pour your own beer situation. Don't look for a paper menu, they ain't here. My sandwich wasn't a grilled cheese. It was basically pesto toast with large sun-dried tomatoes and scraps of mozzarella. Baby spinach was just missing. I did inquire to the host (perchance the only actual employee?) and he did talk to the kitchen and I guess they were out. With that information I turned to my friend Robert and said, "You know why we have servers? So they can let you know they're 86 spinach." I suppose I would have adjusted my order had I known this too. What's nuts is, they have ingredients to make a better grilled cheese. I mean, step one: add cheese. Why not mix the ricotta and pesto together and then add like havarti or something that may actually melt and have flavor. The sun-dried tomatoes should be sliced smaller. The garlic fries were fine, but also could have had more flavor. Robert's and neighboring table's pizza looked fine. Is it better than any other place offering Detroit style pizza? Hard to say. I guess I'm not in a hurry to go back. The kind host did make an adjustment to my bill for lack of spinach--but having a server would have prevented that being necessary.

Upon entering, the staffer explained the set-up to enjoy a variety of beers, poured and priced by the volume. Located at the back of the restaurant, customers can select beer flavors and serve themselves, no bartender needed. A tab is started and charged based on usage, tracked through the wristband provided to you. I ordered over mobile via a QR code, selecting pretzel sticks with beer cheese dip and a large, Detroit-style pizza. The soft pretzels were tender with a lovely crusty exterior. I inhaled the first pretzel since it was past lunchtime, savoring the salty, cheesy bites. I must admit, the pretzels' saltiness temporarily affected my taste buds because the pizza had little flavor, even with the pepperoni, sausage, and olives. I definitely did not taste the hot honey drizzle. I want to praise the light, airy crust. For a deep dish pizza, it did not sit heavy in my tummy. I also appreciated that the pizza was served on a rack, to allow air circulation and to prevent sogginess. The space was dark and had both large communal tables and smaller, intimate tables. This allowed for larger groups to enjoy community beyond a friend group. The other plus is the board games that are available to pass the time while enjoying various beers.
