Flavorful and fast Mexican fare on Brighton Ave. in Allston. With all the standard "Mexican-American" options such as burritos, tacos, and bowls, Amelia's Taqueria has variety and vibrancy. Best for take-out but also a few tables inside the small restaurant. Order at the counter. Pick your vehicle, pick your protein, pick your fillers. The corn tortillas for the tacos are light and durable. The bowls are a great deal with plenty of room for yellow rice, savory black/pinto beans, salsas, and veggies. Recommend the slightly pickled red onions for a topper and the salsa roja, creamy with a bite of heat. The guacamole is also more an avocado crema. Al pastor (pork) is very similar to brisket, tender with some sweetness. The spicy chicken isn't overpowering but brings a nice kick. Both the steak and carnitas are juicy and not lacking zest.

We've lived in Allston for 2 years and this has been our go to food spot. The burritos are massive and the ingredients are fresh and delicious. Boston is expensive - it's awesome to get a delicious massive burrito for $9 or less, and go down to the Silhoutte for a $11 pitcher. Would definitely recommend anything on the menu!

I wasn't impressed with the chicken tacos, because of the chewy consistency of the chicken and flavor of the corn tortilla, I prefer a flour tortilla. The strawberry margarita was delicious and even came with a strawberry garnish! Be prepared because this place gets busy and loud on a Friday night. I couldn't hear my friend across the table. We also struggled because we had a small high top and could barely fit all of our food on it. They did a good job clearing the table and waiting for us to finish our appetizers. Our waitress had her hands full it seemed like she was waiting on every table but she did amazing.

So many amazing dishes, I will say the only thing that was average was the pancakes. Definitely nit great like the rest of the food. Next tike skip the pancake. We sat outside, and our service was amazing too. I forget her name but she was a young woman from Brazil. She was fun, gave great recommendations and even got us another iced coffee to go!! The inside had a great vibe, full of color and fun. If you're looking for brunch.... here is the place!

Special shoutouts to: chips and guac, pork belly taco, duck birria, green margarita, and churros. One thing about Bartacos that I've come to learn over time: the quality can vary. Sometimes it's a good Bartaco day, sometimes it's an incredible Bartaco day. But I've never had a bad Bartaco day. The service model is quick and efficient. You typically order using the QR code, though I recently noticed they've been offering the physical menus more which feels a lot classier. However, when you order on your phone with the QR, you will get a free taco for your next visit after completing a short survey. Unless you put the blue service card up to indicate you want your server, you probably won't see them much, but it's not an issue, especially with the many food runners they have. The ambiance is very pretty and eclectic with soft lantern lighting. Medium casual dining, not too expensive, very suitable for a first date, probably not a fancy anniversary dinner type of place. TLDR: go to Bartaco. You'll probably love it.
