Great place to get embroidery done for graduation sashes! [ORDERING PROCESS] I was referred this place because my usual go-to embroidery place (Alpha Greek Apparel) doesn't embroider graduation sashes. I came into the store and sat down with Simon to get a quote on graduation sashes. I ordered them a month in advanced because I was afraid that they wouldn't be done in time, and he said that he could get them done within two weeks. He suggested to get quotes from other places to make sure that the price of these sashes was within my range. You can tell he's been doing this for a while because he keeps all of his files organized by universities! He gave me a discount for being a UCI student, so let him know what school you're from! [QUALITY] Simon called me a day before my pick up date to tell me that my graduation sashes would be done a little earlier and I could come pick them up early if I wanted. I took a robe that I wanted to customized with my best friends initial on it, the first time the owner said t to my face "make it real short, I have a lot of customers in the back" and then the next morning I wanted to call to ask about their font-if there are options to choose thickness. I cannot believe the owner said it in a very bad attitude " you are asking too much. The most unprofessional business I have encountered in Orange County. Initially I wasn't going to leave a review, but after today I feel obligated to warn future customers. Upon ordering our embroidery, Simon hastily took notes, as he was distracted by multitasking. Our sample was slightly wrong, which he assured would be corrected prior to embroidery. Unfortunately he proceeded with the embroidery without correcting the errors, and as a result our shirts and jackets were poorly executed. After much arguing, to the point of threatening with small claims court, Simon agreed to re-purchase the items and redo the embroidery. True to his word, he completed the revised order and reimbursed the cost of the items. Had he left it at that, all good. Upon leaving the store amicably, Simon chose to express his discontent by calling us "the worst people in the world" and to never come in the shop again. At this point we took the high road, picked up our order, and walked out of his office. He then followed us to our car and said "You look like the devil." Interesting words coming from someone claiming to be the head of a church. At any rate, they've been in business a long time, and I hope that he learns from this mistake. I was drawn to them because of the good reviews and very reasonable prices. Unfortunately, we received horrible service. Not only did they ruin one of our shirts (which was $50), but after seeing the proof we had told them that their lines weren't straight and needed to be fixed, and Simon brushed it off and said it was only a proof and seemed to be in a hurry. He had originally just wanted to send us pic of proof via email but we insisted to see it in person, even though he stated it was better in email, which doesn't quite make sense. Finished product was poorly done, after arguing he agreed to cover cost of merch and try again, which he did but unfortunately he acted like a 12 year old child about it. Alright so I was in charge of getting the stoles for the seniors in my co-ed fraternity. America Embroidery is located in this plaza with warehouses on the corner of Valencia and Red Hill (it's facing Valencia). I've never had anything embroidered before, but I have to say that Simon the owner was the sweetest man ever! His wife Silvia was very nice as well. They are both very concerned with giving their customers the best quality possible. They both weren't accustomed to Greek letters, so I had to Google it for them in their office....they are so cute! Simon inquired how I heard about this place because was surprised that so many "young people" were coming in asking for embroidery. I thought this was freaking adorable that he wasn't used to this kind of clientèle since he usually does large volumes for other companies. I told him it was probably because of Yelp! All of them referred me to EmbroiderMe and elsewhere. I got very mixed reviews about EmbroiderMe.. so I yelped other embroidery places. To be honest, I might have been able to get my embroidery done for a cheaper price elsewhere... but the customer service and the workmanship was worth every penny! America Embroidery is owned by a sweet old Korean couple. When you call them, the reception is a bit staticy so don't let that sketchyness turn you away. Although this company is used to doing large orders, Simon was nice enough to embroider my single bathrobe and charged me a very reasonable price for it, given all the special work that I had requested. Most places require you to purchase the item you want embroidered at their store, but not at America Embroidery. Literally, you probably could get ANYTHING embroidered there. Simon is such a sweet man! He is very patient and was very helpful in helping me decide the color, font, size, and location of my embroidery. Not to mention he gets his orders completed ON TIME, unlike EmbroiderMe. I innitially called 2 other embroidery places in Irvine/Lake Forest because they were closer to home but didn't get a good vibe over the phone. When I called America Embroidery, Simon was very kind and eager to help. I needed 4 luxury bath towels and 2 hand towels to be embroidered with innitials for our 2nd year wedding anniversary since cotton is the traditional gift. Simon was very thorough, and helped me picked out every detail from the thread count, font, width, height, spacing to coloring. I was a pretty skeptical about the color of the innitials matching the champagne colored leaves already embroidered on the towels, but when I picked up the towels... everything was PERFECT! I wanted to make a personalized gift for my bf and America Embroidery did a great job on the sweater and towel. Service was quick and job was clean. They had done the stitching on one of the items already but they suggested I choose another color because the color of the fabric would bleed onto the white thread. He got my embroidery done fast, it looked good, and he didn't even charge me extra. The embroidery itself was flawless! Even further, America Embroidery does not take cards. Although Simon warned me of this, I misunderstood and came to pick up my items with no cash, only card, in hand. Simon let me pay in one dollar bills, change, and then when I was still two dollars short, said it was completely fine. Rather than having me go to the bank so I could pay the full amount, he let me just pay the amount I had.
