First, they never never took the job. Let's keep this 100. I'm reviewing them on what they didn't do. Check this out. I called them yesterday to have Brandon come out for an estimate. He came out to another property for us 2 years ago. Today I call and I'm told that he doesn't service our area. The woman who answers the phone, Chrystal was not easy to talk to. I explain that the property he came out to 2 years ago is 5-6 minutes from where I'm requesting service. She tells me she has to talk to Brandon and call me back. I tell her to please tell Brandon that he's highly recommended and has serviced my mom's place, which is even further away from him than we are. Chrystal calls me this morning and tells me Brandon will only come out to us if we have at least $1000 of work to do. What? I explain that I don't know how much it will cost to do because I was calling to make an estimate appointment. You tell me how much you cost to do the work. I'm just done. Don't play me. I'd hate to think that they saw our zip code and formulated some reasons as to why they didn't service our area anymore. Not at a time like this. That would be foolish. In the 28 years we've owned our home, we've never had a tree service as good as this. The gentleman they sent out were very hard workers, did the all-day job I had contracted. They actually cleaned up after themselves! All of my trees (2 pepper, 1 olive, and 3 citrus) look so much better and healthier. They were respectful of my property and that of my neighbors. Just hired them. Already looking for new Gardeners, they are ridiculously overpriced and so fake. We hand Brandon come and took notes and made us sign a contract that went over what would be done and that they need 30 day notice. Once we signed, they sent 2 guys we hadn't met and had to spend another 20 minutes telling them what needs to be done all over again because the company didn't tell them anything. American Arbor Care removed a small tree from my front yard. It was a small job for them, but would have been a big nightmare for me. My experience could not have been better. Their prices were reasonable. The team who came out worked fast and removed the entire tree, roots and all, in about an hour. Everything was chipped and not a stray leaf was left behind. Everyone on the team was polite, which is something I wish I could say about my regular gardeners (sigh). My experience was great, but that isn't all: Brandon, who owns American Arbor Care, did some consulting work for a nonprofit for kids I worked with several years back. Constantly had to call the office, with no results. I have a 20 year old organic garden and told them not to touch trees or above ground garden beds or plants on my patio (in containers). They did whatever they wanted. They cut back and ripped apart my white peach tree, my 15 " lilac, pulled out 3 old tubarose plants, removed my asparagus patch, and so much more I cannot list it all. The worker was constantly on his phone, I even videoed it and sent to Brandon and was assured he would not be back but is back. The workers have a real attitude when we try to talk to them. They would rather clip dead leaves on my patio than do what they are hired to do. I pay for an hour a week and unless we are here to supervise them, they leave in less than 15 minutes. They also come whenever they want and not at the scheduled time. When they cancel they just dont show up and if I complain, they will show up on a different day and time - if they feel like it. Terrible service. workers do not know the difference between a weed and a treasured plant. They are not to be trusted with your garden. read more

American Arbor is fabulous. We needed to get a lot of different trees trimmed (pines, fruit, citrus, etc). I got estimates from several companies. What was the difference? Brandon. When he saw our trees, he gave us a quote and then mentioned that he would not be cutting the pines until later. If you cut pines at the wrong time of year, you can get a lot of sap and/or stunted growth. We hired American Arbor Care to remove some trees in then backyard. Called them and they were out the next day for the estimate. They had a cancellation, so they were able to take six trees out the next day. From initial call to the work being done was 3 days. Pretty amazing. They did a fabulous job, and left the backyard cleaner than they found it. I even called Brandon, to get his opinion on some palm trees that SCE wanted to remove. He was so helpful and knowledgeable. I just had a huge job done in my canyon by American Arbor Care. Brandon is the arborist/president/estimator. He is knowledgeable, straight-forward, and fair. And the price was right. A crew of 6 worked all day and finished before estimated time, did everything we had talked about, cleaned up every leaf and twig that they had hauled up from the canyon, and swept the street clean. They worked very hard - no easy task walking up and down a very steep 70 ft canyon hauling heavy branches and debris. A five star plus! read more

I hired AAC to trim and thin the mature bamboo plants along the perimeter of our property, a big job but completely straightforward. The owner Brandon was affable and gave me a reasonable, not inexpensive bid. The day they came to start the work, I specifically pointed out the plastic irrigation drip line along the base of the plants. After the trimming work was completed I noticed water shooting out from one then two places in the drip line that were clearly cut... I called Brandon to let him know and he sent one of his workers out to make the repairs. As the worker began making the repairs and the water pressure could build up, he began to reveal more and more cuts in the line... this would have been bad enough on its own but then he showed me a section of the hosing that had been cut completely through and then wrapped with electrical tape. When I bought this information to the owner, he defended his crew, suggesting they would never have been so deceptive. He made no effort to make any further repairs or financial reparations and I was forced to have an irrigation specialist repair and replace all of the damage AAC caused and then amateurishly attempted to fix. I am sorry to have to leave a negative review, this is my first ever but the lack of professionalism and damage caused, demands that I caution others. read more

I don't even know where to start...This is HANDS DOWN the BEST tree trimming experience I have ever had! We had 3 dead Eucalyptus that needed to be removed, another 2 trees were invading the pool and had to go, Italian Cypress that needed trimming, 5 ficuses that were about 3X their normal size... Not only do all the trimmed things look amazing, but the cleanup...the clean up ROCKS!!! I could throw a pool party right now! AAC trimmed my Melaleuca Trees and Queen Palms in Redondo Beach. Before I hired them I paid Brandon Gill, the owner, to come out for a consultation because he is a certified arborist. I felt confident with his assessment. He said the Melaleuca have been topped in the past and cannot be allowed to grow too tall, because the new shoots will eventually be weak at the top, but also said the trees could grow a little taller and could be trimmed with that in mind. He assured me that he passed down to his crew how to cut, however I had some issues with what they did and said. I sent a message to his private email. I wanted to know why the foreman of the crew who trimmed the Melaleuca Trees said that they always top Melaleuca Trees and why they cut 3 to 4 feet off the top after he and I had discussed letting them grow taller before topping them. Gill did not respond to me. It seems now that communication is lacking for this company, both with his crew and his customers. The lady in the office did give me a 5% discount; an amount, however, barely worth mentioning. read more
