It's a small establishment, with outdoor seating when it's nice out. I sat at the bar & it was brunch so there was a DJ there. I ordered Sicilian Spritz and a Strawberry Hugo Spritz from their seasonal drink menu. I thought those were good. Then got a chicken pesto panini from the brunch menu. That was a bit disappointing as there was barely any chicken for a $17.50 panini. Also found out when asking for the check that it's cash only. Was told that there was an ATM next door. I will start off by saying the food was fantastic. There was not a single thing we ordered that we did not enjoy. However... I will say, our experience wasn't entirely great. The place is very small & tight. Not a problem. But we were so incredibly uncomfortable in their seats, no joke. Came for an early dinner on a Tuesday night - party of three. When we arrived, it was just us & three people at the bar. There were two bartender/servers. In the time we were there, two more tables (one larger, 6 or 8 people and one 2 top) sat ... the servers just could not keep up. Which, with that few customers, shouldn't be a problem. Giving this place four stars because their drinks were really delicious and so is their food, but I will say that they took their time with everything. We got a red velvet espresso, martini, and normal espresso martinis, and they were really really delicious made with real espresso. We also got food in the photo that is the spinach artichoke dip and then we also got some sandwiches and salad salads for the table as well and it was all very tasty. Very good. My only critique is that the service was very slow. We ordered multiple drinks because we were a table of six and the drinks came out out a very inconsistent pace so that was a little bit annoying, but it wasn't the end of the world so I'm still giving it four stars. read more

Such a cute wine bar! I ordered the Serenity cocktail and it was delicious & pink, my girlie got a phenomenal espresso martini and we split the brownie dessert. A cozy, dark little spot nestled in the strip of stores across from the train station. You would expect that typically chill wine bar experience but that's not what you get. If you want more of a thumping party-party vibe, you've found just the place. I honestly wanted to walk right out but we were meeting a friend so we squeezed ourselves in and managed to get a table. The staff was pretty slammed (I think it was just two guys handling the bar and tables so bravo to them for working it-- like I saw one guy making six freaking espresso martinis) , but our server helped us arrange seating for three at a high top which was so nice of him, especially given how busy it was in there. They have a full bar and tons of cocktail and by the bottle options, but I stuck to their Montepulciano by the glass. When my friend asked what the red blend was, our waiter didn't know... kind of odd to not be informed of the wines if this is a wine bar. I just think management could do a better job of training as expectations in a place that calls itself a wine bar are going to be high. I guess it's not a wine bar but it's literally in the name of the bar? I know it's a thing out here to feel like you're at the club as you're eating dinner (by the way, literally nothing vegan except for olives on the menu so luckily I wasn't hungry). Overall this is a pretty solid spot located right off the train in massapequa park. The food is very good id say, with the burrata, and flat breads being the best. The rice balls are also fire. Their dessert options are also very good. As far as the wine goes, there decent, not a huge selection, and they serve there red wines at room temperature, not the ideal 55 degrees. Service wise they are a bit slow and for a wine bar their servers have no clue about the wine their serving. The one bartender stated the malbec was from italy and the other could not describe the wine being served. Now this may sound small, but a wine bar should employee people that know wine. We ordered drinks and I asked if one of the drinks that had coconut could be substituted for something else and the waitress said no. I asked if the drinks were premade and she said no - so then i asked why can't the bartender just not add the coconut puree? She went and asked the bartender and said that he could do it. obviously I knew he could not sure why she gave such a hard time about it. The food took forever to come out. I ordered the avocado toast and burrata, I also added grilled chicked to it. It was def not what I expected. I thought I would get a nice burrata ball on top -nope! And it was the whitest chicken I have ever seen. It had no flavor (see attached pics). I paid $25 for ONE piece of toast with guac and some pieces of burrata? With what looked like chicken that was possibly grilled early that day and then reheated. It definitely was not a fresh chicken cutlet. Overall, the drinks is what keeps this place open because that had to be the best espresso martini I've had. They should just stick to being a cocktail/wine bar and just serve flatbreads. It was obnoxiously loud and dark for no reason. The waitress was very nice but everything from the drinks and food took forever to come out. I recommend coming here for a drink before or after dinner. BEWARE!! Michaelangelos charges a 4% credit card fee on the bill. No disclosures anywhere. Per February 2024 NYS law, this is a violation. They claim the POS system won't print cash payment checks until you pay the credit card price then they will bring you change. I wonder how many customers they have scammed an extra 4% from because they just paid the bill in cash and left not knowing?!? Service was terrible. Didn't bring an item we ordered. Charged us for 2 glasses of wine that were $2 more per glass than what we ordered and waited 30 minutes for the check. Do better!! read more

Came here with a group of friends for Sunday brunch and I can't say enough about how good everything was! The cocktails were absolutely delicious, so creative and so beautiful! The food was wonderfully prepared, fresh, our group loved everything we got. I went for the avocado toast and everything from the perfectly runny eggs, to the amazingly fresh and crispy bread to the perfect avocado to arugula ratio were a hit. We also got the hummus plate and several desserts (Nutella panini, the baked brownie which was out of this world!). Service was fast, attentive, and polite. The wine selection is overpriced for what you're actually getting - most of it tastes like cheap, mass-produced wine that you can find at any corner store for a fraction of the price. To top it off, the owner is incredibly rude and unwelcoming, which completely ruins the experience. Instead of creating a warm, inviting atmosphere, it feels like you're intruding. Absolutely love it here. They have a lot of great drinks to choose from, and the food is delicious. I usually get the chicken pesto panini, but I've been wanting to try some other items on the menu. The dirty martini is one of my favorite drinks because it's not too strong, and you can really taste the olive juice. They do have really good seasonal drinks though that I highly recommend trying (especially during the fall). Absolutely terrible experience. Probably the worst dining experience ever!!!! Do not go for Sunday brunch. From the start our party yes rather a large one had to wait and watch the staff ask seated tables to move to different tables so they can set tables for us. I've worked in restaurant industry for 20 years and I have never ever seen that needed to be done. After being accommodated and seated, we sat at the tables for over 20 minutes before water was brought to us and a drink order was taken. Another 15-20 minutes for drinks to arrive to the tables. Food order taken and not received for over an hour. When I questioned a staff member about our food and if we would get it today or tomorrow the only response was "I'm sorry it's coming, 6 more minutes." Because our party was large we were separated at tables. One set of tables received their food and ate while the other tables continued to wait another half hour to be served. When food finally arrived, the dish I ordered was presented and the staff member said "bacon egg and cheese" which no one ordered so we said to just put it down. Waiting for the rest of the food and it all arrive I realized that first dish was mine. So the staff doesn't even know the food they are serving. That's really bad! Never once in the 2.5 hours there was anyone water glass refilled or asked to be refilled. When I asked for a manger I was told that there is no manager there. I understand the place is small and the kitchen isn't exactly a real kitchen, if you can thanks a bus packed place and large parties then you shouldn't take reservations for them. Not having a manager in a restaurant is just mind boggling. Don't know how they are still operating and in business. If I could give this place a 0 star rating I absolutely would, it doesn't deserve the 1 that it's getting. read more

This spot is cute! The drinks are very pretty and do taste really good. We had cosmos, a rose vodka beverage, watermelon mojito - All very good and picture worthy. Waiters were very attentive to us! Outside seating is nice as the inside can get crowded. We didn't eat, so no comment on the food. My only gripe is that the drinks are incredibly expensive which I get it, inflation! But I think that the size of the cosmo glass was insanely small and the drink was $18 (pic provided) I did order another one and I watched the rest of my first drink was sitting in the shaker be poured as my second drink, yet I was still charged for two drinks. Well... I can't begin to explain how badly I had been dying to go to Michaelangelo's. I've followed their Instagram for months sending all their posts to my friends telling them we had to go. The cocktails are quite expensive which is to be expected being that its cocktail bar.. however it was a weird service experience in my opinion. We sat at the bar and waited a while to be acknowledged and receive menus which is fair because he was ringing someone else up. After getting menus we were ready to order cocktails quite quickly so we let him know what we wanted. About 10 minutes later a different gentleman came up to us asking what we wanted again and then proceeded to get started on them. Again, as someone who's worked in service industry, I understand you get side tracked or other things come up. However, the restaurant was almost empty and the first guy seemed like he was getting started on it and then kind of disappeared. Beside the service the cocktails presentation was fabulous. It's always fun treating yourself to something you wouldn't always go for but we were in agreement our cocktails were kind of mediocre for the price. My wife and I came here after finding ourselves with an unexpected night away from the baby after having recently seen an Instagram post touting Michaelangelo's. We got cocktails and a cheese board. I got the Vanilla Reposado, and my wife got one of the sangrias. They were both delicious. The cheese board was varied and interesting. However, the prices for everything was very high. For the mid-level pre-made cheese board and the two cocktails we paid over $100 with tip. We ended up still going to a restaurant afterwards for dinner. It was definitely a nice time, and the place is small, cozy and fancy-feeling. Our waiter (we sat at the bar) was on the ball, and we never waited too long for anything. I must add, I am a cocktail hobbyist and my wife works for a cheese company, so we know a little bit about the respective areas. I've definitely had more adventurous cheeses, and worry that the prices are pretty inflated. read more

It's 3pm, we weren't sat and We are now at the fabulous Tap Room because the table wouldn't move and the waitress pretty much told us to leave because they didn't care to try to accommodate our party. Myself and three of my girlfriends came here after work on a Wednesday night. At 5:30 we were the only people in the place, but by 7 it was packed. The place is so cute inside - very cozy with a sort of romantic feel. Our drinks were delicious - highly recommend the strawberry rosé sangria. I also had a pumpkin spice espresso martini which was also delicious, but too expensive at $20. We split the largest charcuterie board which was delicious! We were a little hungry afterwards; I would say it would have been the perfect size for three people. Two of my girlfriends split a flatbread, which they said was great. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. I did think it was a bit expensive which is why I knocked a star off, but maybe thats just me! I've been dying to come here once I saw the sangria flights on my friends Instagram page!! With that being said I didn't read the reviews beforehand but I did notice they had a 3.5 review. We got there on a Saturday night around 745 and were told we had to wait 10-15 minutes which was totally fine. Once we were seated, we ordered our drinks and were about to order some apps but the server just walked away (not maliciously, but they were packed and it wasn't a priority.) Our drinks were made with love, but it took us an extra 20 minutes to actually order our food because our server was that busy, and it also took ~30 minutes to get a glass of water. We eventually got to order a ricotta dip which was yummy (and filling) + chorizo + salami which came with bread + a little bit of sweet jam which was delicious! But because the service was slow we decided, we'd go somewhere else for dinner. Peter, our server, was actually really nice the whole time. Whether it was seating us or asking us which was our favorite, he was awesome. The issue was that they're understaffed so it was reallllllly slow.
