Going through the process of exploring and contracting partners to build a new dock and boat lift can be pretty wild. Robert initially helped me find an option which met my budget, but we quickly realized there was a leak in one of the tanks. He and his team sprang into action and within a couple of days, they completely rebuilt the lift with brand new tanks to take care of the surprising situation for all involved. They made numerous follow-up trips to my property to fine-tune the lift and make sure everything was working perfectly. Rob is doing well these days, compared to some reviews here. If there was a questionable past, he has certainly cleaned up his act. His customer service for me, has been excellent. Anytime I have had a problem he responds within a few minutes and corrections/repairs have been done sometimes with in a period of 24 hour period. I have had heavy boat on a very active position on the lake, so his boat lift has more work to do than many lifts I see. Robert (American boat lift) did not finish the job of replacing my boat lift as agreed. Once he was paid, he would not come back to finish the job. Robert might get your lift installed and promise you a warranty. But once he's paid... good luck getting him to return a phone call or text. The products he installs are sub-par. I've had several problems. He will not return calls or texts. I'm not confident in the install and hoping the lift doesn't break the dock or damage my boat. Finding a Hydro hoist at Lake Mead can prove to be incredibly difficult and in very high demand. American boat lift (Roberto) installed a new lift from me and it has been an amazing experience. he is quick ,reliable and does what he says. This company does not value your time. Were told they would arrive on a certain date to install, didn't show, didn't call. Six times this happened!! We bought the orginal hydrohoist in 2015 from him when we docked at SeaWorld Marina in San Diego. Recently, it took some time to arrange our move from SeaWorld Marina in San Diego to our new home at Saguaro Lake in the Tonto National Park Forest in Mesa, Arizona as apparently there was an issue with the original trailer. He ended up renting a trailer for the move plus on the way to Arizona he had 2 flat tires!. He had our hoist on one trailer with another driver and drove our SeaRay on another. He drove up from California to Arizona on one day and then with his excellent work skills installed everything in one day! I recently had my boat wrapped and wanted to protect it from be damaged. I purchased a used Hydrohoist 6600 and new galvanized kayak racks from Robert for our dock in Lake Arrowhead. From my initial conversation with Robert, I knew he was hands on with his business, an excellent communicator, and genuinely cares about his customer and quality of work. I am more than pleased with the quality of work that he and his team showed as they assembled the lift to fit my dock perfectly! The lift had all new bushings, hardware and galvanized frame and new bunker boards and a 36 month warranty. Robert delivered the lift to Lake Arrowhead for me on his trailer and was patient with the delays from the Arrowhead Lake Association to approve the permit to install. I have since been i n contact with the company and they have refunded my money, They have also made a good faith effort to re-connect with me and provide the service that we had agreed to originally. They have also asked if they could pay for any expenses that might have occurred during our first mishap. He has asked if there is anything that he can do to help me. I will give him another chance. I was contracted by the owner, Robert, who has done work for me in the past and he suggested that he could upgrade my lift. Now, 6 months and $4,000 later my lift has been removed and replaced with a product which is not usable missing the control box, hoses, and bunk which I did have since I did have a fully functioning product. I have called Robert about 20 times along with texts and occasionally have gotten a response such as "I am on it". In addition, he has as for additional money which I have sent to him. I now believe him to be a thief. If you are thinking of using Robert, call the factory, Hydrohoist, in Oklahoma and ask to talk to the Western Regional Manager and he will tell you about the legion of unhappy and dissatisfied customers of American Boat Lift. Hydrohoist does have a number of qualified installers in Southern California. Don't make the same mistake I did, I'm now $4,000 poorer without a functioning lift and a totally non responsive Robert who apparently owns the Company. read more

Robert does great work at a reasonable price. He has been super helpful keeping my old boatlift in good condition. He works very hard and has clever ways of repairing the boatlifts. He keeps very busy and goes out of his way to make it here when I need him. read more
