The only reason I brought them in was to clean and make sure it was working properly. I've been told by others who have since tried to help us get it working that we probably need to remove the fan that they convinced us we needed. And charged us so much for. Even if the fan did work (which it doesn't - smoke billows into the living room -- NEVER did that before Ace came) the fan sounds like an engine on an airplane, which takes away any chance of enjoying a fire. I should have written this ages ago, but I was hoping we would figure out a way to make it work. If you have an older house, PLEASE find a company that knows what they are doing. We are SO frustrated with not being able to enjoy our beautiful fireplace.

The technician was incredibly knowledgeable, and even though he came on a Saturday at 3:30 PM he told me he could have the job done Sunday morning at 9 AM. Just as he said, they arrived Sunday morning and put the liner in. He told me the smell would go away, which I was very dubious about. However, he was correct. My home does not smell like creosote anymore. I saw this company had a lot of negative reviews and I just want you to know that they did right by me. Not everybody has a bad experience. I was given a fair price for something that was absolutely necessary. I would definitely recommend them.

I recently moved into a flip and, to both of our surprise, discovered feet of concrete and bricks stuffed in the middle of my chimney -- meaning my hot water heater and gas line weren't venting properly. Oscar and his team quite literally saved my life. When you buy a new home, you never know what surprises are waiting behind the walls. Oscar went above and beyond to make sure I was safe, that the job was done correctly, and that they'd leave with absolutely no trace they were ever there. Mid-project, they had to open a wall, and not only did they patch the drywall, but they painted it, too -- you'd never know it was touched. He took the time to explain everything in detail so I could actually understand the process, documented every step, and made me feel like a true partner in the project. One thing he said that really stuck with me was: "I know you own the house, but it's our fireplace now." That level of care and pride in his work says it all. Two gentlemen came and worked on my equipment (they really tried to bring it back to life but the thing was just too far gone). They ordered the part, we set up a new date to install it, so that by a week later they were right back to finish the job and install the part (a blower). When they came back, within an hour... not only was it working again, I had my buns pressed right against that grill warming them up against this everlasting cold in NYS!
