After he went out there to take a look, he asked if I wanted to the good news or the bad news. The Good News: The windows were already super energy efficient. He knows because he had put them in himself for the previous tenant a few years back. What a coincidence! The Bad News: He wasn't going to make any money on this job. As with every type of appointment for construction services you normally enter into a conversation hesitant wondering who is this guy, and will he give me a good price, a good job, stand behind work, or just give me a crappy job and run with my money, never to be heard from again. We've all heard the stories. Dave arrived at my home, introduced himself and we talked at great length about our siding project, and he did a walk around the home just to evaluate the job. He came back in, did a little figuring on a piece of paper, and gave us a price on the spot. While we knew not what to expect about the cost, we were somewhat surprised as it seemed a little over what we had budgeted. We talked a little longer and he explained in great detail what was needed and what he was going to do, he explained the funding and how it would work and he left. We thanked him for his time, his explanations, and his proposal and told him we would be in touch. After Dave left my wife and I sat down and discussed the project, the cost, and the timeline, as we wanted to get the project done before September this year. You know that everyone says, "Never take the first proposal, get prices, get multiple proposals, etc". We didn't know what it was exactly, but my wife and I both felt really good about our visit with Dave and so we decided to call him back the next day and enter into a contract. Not to make this review to long, the project was scheduled and actually took place a week earlier than expected. Dave anticipated a 5 day project, and they finished up in 4 days. His guys were like busy bees, only stopping for a 30 minute lunch break each day. Very professional, knew their profession, and did not need constant oversite. Dave's supervisor on the job Louis knew the job and knew the timeline and was sure to make it happen. While Dave was on the site almost every day, I think he thinks of himself as the cleanup crew picking up and taking garbage almost every day. There was no language barrier between the workers and me, and everyone on the job was eager to please. Dave made every effort to assure that the finished project was worthy of our praise, even adding a few things not originally negotiated in the contract. While the project was not considered a large project, it had alot of intricate details that took extra time to work around. My wife and I cannot express enough our level of satisfaction with Dave and his guys. They did what they said they would do, and most likely more that we didn't even know about. Great job, great contractor, and great value for the money. The project was worth every penny spent. I see now why much of Dave's business is return customers. We would/will certainly use him again if the need arises. Not to lengthen this review longer I would only like to add, that Dave is human, he is not a robot and his speech is not rehearsed. We learned alot about his family, his dogs, etc. and we felt he was true to form, just a good guy to work with. Highly recommend. Having Sunrise Roofing and Chimney do work on our home. What an amazing job they did!! We had our roof done a few years ago by a family member and there were some major issues - (learned a valuable lesson- you get what you pay for when you have family say they know what they're doing). We pointed out the issues to the representative before we decided to go ahead with replacing our siding and windows. He told us what would need to be done to correct the problem and he was right on. There was another issue found once the work started, which was addressed with minimal additional cost. I love the finished product!! Our new windows and siding look amazing. I can't say enough positive things about the crew. They were respectful, accommodating and cleaned up every day. Around the end they even went around with a magnet to pick up nails that were on the ground. We are so happy with the entire experience and highly recommend Sunrise Roofing to anyone looking to replace their siding and windows. My sister had a roof done by them earlier this year and had a wonderful experience - the quality of the workmanship, the quality of the materials used, they were on time, finished on time and cleaned up. My sister had done a lot of research and got other estimates before deciding to hire Sunrise Roofing. Their price was very fair and competitive. We had some siding blown off in a windstorm several weeks ago and called a few local contractors for repair estimates; Sunrise was one of them and was able to promptly provide an estimate with several options. After meeting with Sheffield, one of the bosses, we decided to replace a complete side panel with a new gable vent. The service requested was performed exactly as we planned with the technicians doing a great job. While on site, they pointed out some issues with our chimney which they were also able to complete a few days later. I called at least half a dozen chimney companies to repair an old concrete crown and come up with a solution to extend and secure my flexible wood stove flue pipe that didn't quite reach the top (it had pulled away and fell short of the top plate). Most other companies only wanted to replace the entire flue pipe at upwards of 4 times the price. Why replace something if it still works? Sheffield fixed the problem by adding just what was needed at a price that beat everyone else...and even caulked a leak while he was there free of charge. Shefield responded to my request to come and look at my gutters because water was coming through my front door. They responded quickly and came the next day. They were professional and courteous. They addressed the problem. When we had the storm with heavy rain and strong winds I noticed rain coming in my door. Not as bad as before but I was concerned. Gina came by, took pictures, and told me exactly what they would do. She then pointed out one of the possible reasons I was having a leak in the house. (Shingles were installed improperly) BTW: Gina had just come back on the redeye from the West Coast, after attending a construction conference. She was so determined to see my house, and put all the necessary wheels in motion ASAP - she showed up SUNDAY, 7:30 AM - where most people would have gone home to get some sleep, she was there to help my project get started! (And was there throughout the whole process as well) We then discussed the difference in price for installing over the existing roof versus installing a completely new (ripping the old one off) roof. The cost, though not cheap, was better than anything I had been quoted prior to this. I ultimately decided to install a completely new roof. The roofers managed to take down the old roof, and install the new one in less than 10 hours (this was done in late November, and it got dark by 5:30), including cleanup of all debris! The gutter people who were subcontracted, did a great job with one minor exception. When I contacted Gina, her response was "I'll take care of it immediately". Two days later, the guys came by, and fixed the problem in about 20 minutes! Like the solar company that hired them, I felt confident from the first moment, that not only would the job be done right; Marcor would stand behind their work and deal with any problems - no questions asked. Marcor lists themselves as a roofing company - if you are in need of a new roof, or simply a repair on your existing roof, I would wholeheartedly recommend you get in touch with this company! His prices are so reasonable. His roofer Joe is awesome. His helpers were super nice. He never got tired of my questions. Today was install day and so far it looks amazing. Joe only does skylights. This is his thing. He knows I'm nervous about the first rain storm this weekend and he said he would call me to check in. That's just the kind of guy he is. I have a one story home plus a large two car garage and the work went very quickly and by 11:00 AM the job was done and cleaned up.
