I recently visited American Deli and while the food itself was good, the service was very disappointing. The person who took my order (also the cook) had EarPods in and I had to repeat my order several times . What concerned me even more was that he kept touching his phone with the same gloves he was wearing to handle food. That is very unsanitary and unprofessional. When I brought it to the owner's attention, he made things right by having my food remade, which I appreciated. This American Deli is kind of a hole in the wall location. It reminds me of local fast food places back home in Mississippi... There's not much to this location...a few tables, one television and I swear it's always showing Criminal Minds everytime I go. The only thing I eat here are fries... They come out of a bag frozen, they're fried, the cashier shoves way too many in a styrofoam box, asks if I want some seasoning salt on them, then I'm out the door. I believe only one cashier works here, as she's the only person I see everytime I go. I can't really explain the service though, I mean she's nice but sometimes she'll be on the phone with the earpiece in and you think she's talking to you, or she'll be outside when you're walking up which is no big deal... It's just really casual service from someone that's extremely comfortable at their job. Other than that there's plenty of parking as it's in the shopping center with the Krogers. I've never had to wait long as there are hardly a lot of people rushing in when I go. I can honestly say I would not eat anything else here except for fries. There is absolutely nothing awesome about this place just....meh. But meh can get me some fries atleast... but for a good dinner I'll say cook at home or keep on looking.... read more

Location is everything for wing joints like this in my opinion. I've seen this American Deli go through 3 different managements starting with the first owners who were family friends. The outside sign says "American Deli" but it's actually more like a "Mom and Pop" shop. Compared to other American Delis I've been to, they have less flavor wings. I'm assuming they just offer the basic American Deli corporate approved flavors. The new management seem nice. English is a second language to them. Every American Deli I've been to is Korean owned. It's like owning an American Deli is the new dry cleaners. Because English is a second language for them, the way they say certain things may come off as rude or impolite. Being Korean myself, I think they're just trying to directly translate what they want to say. My favorite is the sweet chili flavor. I've always went for hot teriyaki in any wing joint as a default. Who could mess up hot teriyaki right? The cashier told me that the sweet chili was her favorite, and now it's my favorite too. If you go enough times, the owners will remember you and also try to remember your regular order(if you have one). From what I can see the owner and his wife are the only cooks. They have one cashier lady. When it gets busy, I think they call in another guy to help. Pro tip(?): if you ever call ahead to to-go your food, just know that it's never cooked before you get there. I called ahead today to be in and out of the store, but they started cooking it right after I paid for it. I don't know what kind of scumbag misused the to-go system they had, but thank you scumbag for ruining it for the rest of us. Recommendation: if you live near Marietta and feel like driving a little bit, try the American deli on Delk Road. They have a bigger flavor selection and they're also family friends! read more

I ordered fries and wings,and I'm waiting after payng for the cashier to bag the food I purchased.The fries container was not closing secure ,a bag would have been useful. She gives me this blank stare and asked if I needed a bag, I said yes. She slides the bag across counter to me. I came in on a Monday afternoon, it was not busy at all. The staff was very friendly and talkative and the food came quickly. However, it's disgusting in here. The tables are sticky, the floor is dirty, the kitchen is dirty and messy. The cheesesteak was good, but the wings and fries taste like they've been reheated over and over again. The health score was behind the counter slightly out of view( it was an 81, not good.) The napkin and utensil section had something liquid all over them. I have been ordering from this American Deli for the past year I have lived in this area. Today as I was walking in to pick up my order, I noticed signs that informed of new management. When I received my food, I asked to check my food , normally they do it for you but this time I had to ask. It looked like it should so I brought it home. After adding soy sauce to my rice, I stirred it around to notice I only had SIX shrimp in my SHRIMP FRIED RICE. Flabbergasted I called the restaurant to complain...they offered to add FOUR more shrimp to my order and said they can't do anything else. Like what kind of restaurant counts the amount of shrimp they put into shrimp fried rice ?! If I wanted rice with a side of shrimp, I could've made it own my own! The service here SUCKS. the girl in there gave me the worst attitude ever and really just made it seem like she hated me. She didn't tell me that there's a lemon pepper sauce and just flakes. When I asked her to mix hot and lemon pepper together, she chose the sauce and it wasn't as good as expected.
