Pizza and salad and gelato oh my! I've ate here more times than I can count and I'm surprised I haven't already left a review. Let's start with the shocking goodness. The salads. As someone who's been a vegetarian since I was 7 and never a big fan of salads I LOVE the house and panzanella. They are always fresh and refreshing. My mother can't eat here without getting the luscious house salad. The pizzas: from fun names to tasty varieties every one will find something they love here. My personal fav is the veggie. My father loves the supreme-ish. But my rowing team loves the runway which is a 36" long pizza. Way more entertaining to order the 36" long pizza over 4 larges because the deliver to the table is epic. Gelato: or should I say gelat-OH! It scrumdiddlyumptious! You can get the baby size or the mega size but no matter what size you get you can try to different flavors and you'll enjoy no matter what flavor you put in your mouth. I will admit my all-time favorite is the banana pudding! Location: located in Wheeler District Oklahoma City. There's mostly street parking but a large parking lot with not a far walk. There's plenty of space to pull up and drop someone off if needed. Restrooms: restrooms are nice and large and size and individual rooms. They've always been clean. Seating: there's so many great options for seating. From inside or outside. The inside has traditional booth, and large party tables. You can even sit at the bar top at the bar or one where you can watch them make the pizzas in the back. They have a great online ordering system if you need to grab it to go. That may keep you from the temptation of the gelato. But trust me you'll regret it if you don't at least give a flavor a try. ‍ there's a sidewalk ramp entrance right outside the restaurant making it easy to roll up to. Also, the front door isn't stupid heavy so it's easy to navigate. The big round table in the front and the table in the back are perfect height for wheelchair users. Came here with a few coworkers for lunch and got the pepperoni pizza. The crust was light and chewy with a little char around the edges, and there was a good balance of sauce and cheese. Adding a drink for a dollar with the lunch deal was a nice bonus too! Tho it was busy, and the dining area felt pretty cramped with four of us standing around holding our drinks while we waited for a table. Once we finally sat down, though, we enjoyed the food. This place offers a personal sized pizza and during lunch hours you can add a drink for a $1. Overall great deal. All my coworkers seemed to enjoy as well. The first thing I noticed was the lovely color palette and the big windows, which give it a really nice vibe. The pizza itself was great and tasted super fresh. I'll start by saying this place it's very cute and clean. Staff were very friendly and there were things I enjoyed. The kale caesar salad was very yummy and I enjoyed my gelato. Was it enough to get me to comeback? Unfortunately, no. I went with two other friends and we all agreed the pizza was just ok. There are many other places we'd prefer to go to. The pizzas lacked flavor and were really unimpressive. I got the cluck Norris which on the menu sound delicious and would be packed with flavor but it was just average. My family and I came in on a Saturday night and enjoyed some pizzas and cocktails. This is such a cute spot, we had a great time. The ambiance was wonderful- I particularly loved the decor and the place was clean and well kept with a cute bar. Service was on point. That pizza... oh man, the pizza. It was tremendous. I had the Daniel San which has a honey drizzle and some sriracha. Delicious!! Best Neapolitan pizza in the city. The margherita is outstanding: just the right mozzarella-to-sauce ratio, delicious crust with the perfect bit of char, and high-quality imported ingredients. They also have a fantastic selection of top-notch homemade gelato (Milk & Standard is always a hit, and DO NOT pass up the S'mores when it's available). Add in the lovely clean and bright interior, excellent prices, and very friendly owners and staff, and you really can't go wrong. American Gothic Pizza is for everyone! It's in the process of becoming the new hotspot for dinners, dates, and drinks. The pizza is very authentic and delicious. There are two sizes to choose from small (four slices for around $13) and large (eight slices for around $18). Proportionately, the small is best for kids while the large is best for feeding a small family. The best bang for your buck would be to get two large pizzas. The pizza itself was very thin with great crust and plenty of pepperonis. Every part of the place was aesthetic and elegant. The tables, floors, and water glasses were clean and kept up nicely. The natural light made it roomy and inviting. They also have home made gelato ranging from flavors like vanilla, strawberry and cookies and cream to pistachio and peanut better. It is a great spot for a family dinner! Personally, I wish the pizza was bigger with thicker crust. I like my pizza to fill me up after about 2 slices and here I had to eat around 5 to completely fill me up. I am also not a big fan of small burnt spots on the crust and our pizza had a few of those. The gelato was more on the pricey side for not very large portions so it may be better to get some ice cream somewhere else. The pizza is unfortunately very subpar. Everything could use a lot more seasoning. The pizza sauce is watery and quite bland. The house made Italian sausage is also lacking seasoning. The service right now is also lacking which is upsetting when the food is not up to par. Waited several minutes before I had to finally ask for a menu. Then I sat there for another minute before finally being told I couldn't be helped because I was sitting at the bar and the two servers could not walk behind that area. We were literally 3 feet away from each other and could have relayed this to me at the beginning. Instead my party was completely ignored until we started asking questions. Soda machine was down but was offered a free tea. 3 of the four beer taps were not even stocked yet so I hope you're an ultra fan. Opening college football weekend and no bartender, taps not even stocked yet, soda machine down, and weak pizza are not a place I want to hang for a game night. Literally one of the worst pizza experiences I've had in my 35 years of life. I hope they can get things going in a better direction. read more
