What DIDN'T go wrong? Pretty much nothing. We were directed to this company by another one that failed to deliver. That should have been our first sign. This company is merely a brokerage for picking up , storing and delivering. They operate under different names, most likely because of bad reviews and terrible service. Be prepared for extra fees, attitude, price, gouging, and generally all around bad service. When we finally got our stored belongings, a mattress was missing and several items were damaged. I'm sorry about what happened to you. I had received my furniture two days ago. It's damaged beyond repair. I have furniture missing too and I was told last minute that my furniture was over by several boxes on moving day so I had no choice but to sign to pay the extra costs. Plus the driver was trying to "work" me for extra money under the table. When I refused, he got annoyed with me and said I wasn't going to get my stuff. I believe he destroyed my things out of anger. His name was Kevin and he was out of Atlanta, GA. When I called the company right on the spot, Kevin changed his story. It took a month for the moving company to deliver my furniture. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I WISH THERE WAS NEGATIVE STARS! We hired them to take our newly married daughter her bed and dresser. When the items arrived the bed is destroyed and the dresser looks like someone intentionally vandalized it. They do not communicate, and we kept having to call them. It was clear when the items were opened that they had placed HEAVY items on top of the drawers to her bed because 3/4 of them area broken. The delivery man tried to charge 150 extra because it was on the 2nd floor, and I wish we had just given them the money to buy new stuff instead of moving her stuff. Terrible company. DO NOT USE!!! I have no idea where my stuff is, or when it will be delivered. I've been in a empty apartment with absolutely no answers. I tried calling over and over. Customer service is a joke. They just transfer you to other numbers that prompt you to press 1 or 2. The WORST... Update 6/28: Reminder they picked up my stuff on 6/8 I finally came up with the idea to hire a different moving company to go get my stuff that was being held hostage in their warehouse. 32 items were scheduled to be moved. 8 were lost. 3 were totes that had broken apart and subsequently had lost contents 13 were damaged. In short, 2/3 of the items we had moved were either lost completely or *notably* damaged to the point of major scratches/gouges, damage to the point where desks could not stand straight, or missing pieces (e.g. legs, feet to chairs). Needless to say, I do NOT recommend these folks. I scheduled through US Household Moving & Storage who contracted these movers. The damage that was done to our furniture was more than the movers charged. Not to mention we have items we never received to our new home. The havoc this caused during our move was beyond stressful. Don't use this company ever! We waited almost 2 weeks in our new home for our delivery. They kept telling us lyes about delivery dates and when they came it was in a broken down Ryder truck that had to get towed over. This made me almost have my third stroke! I would call almost everyday and would get told "There is no update" or "I don't know when we can deliver". I sat in an empty house for almost 3 months. DO NOT, by any means, use them for your move! I have NEVER had such a horrible experience moving and I can't believe they are able to stay in business. It should be against the law for them to do what they are doing to people. I WISH I would have spent more time doing more research, and I wish I knew then what I know now. This will never happen to me again and I want to do my best to warn others. I am still battling with this very suspicious and non-responsive claims company that they've sent me. Terrible pre-move experience, terrible move day experience, terrible at pick up and at delivery, AND I am dealing with LOST and DAMAGED possessions. This is my warning for anyone else contemplating this provider. But, I did also want to include details below to tell you more. For this move, I dealt with Elite Moving Partners (I come to find out they they are a broker and they were only interested in getting my deposit, then they left me for dead - more on that in a bit), some company called American Home Relocation (TERRIBLE), and some generic service agency called "Moving Services". I would not recommend any of them. Elite Moving Partners gave me an estimate and completely LIED to me on the phone. I was too entrusting and just followed the guidance and recommendations they had provided because I had not done this before. I just wanted to make my move as stress-free as possible. I have learned a valuable lesson about this industry and what not to do! They lied about how everything would work, and they gave me a totally bogus estimate on load size so they could secure a deposit and move fast. On move day, the movers (American Home Relocation) came very late, which I didn't mind, but did not have enough room on the truck - Anthony, from Elite Moving Partners undercut the load size to try and secure my money, he wanted to undercut other rates no matter what it cost me in the end. American Home Relocation charged me all these fees that Elite Moving Partners said were included in what I paid them. I had it in writing in the  agreement I signed, but I was charged on site for an "elevator fee" and some bogus distance charge regardless of my paperwork. I didn't have any options on the day of, so I had to pay. I was furious.  My apartment had a freight elevator and a loading bay. All the things that would make a move easy, but I was charged additional unexpected fees. I tried calling support with Elite and got nothing. I called the agent who helped, nothing. I wrote messages and left voicemails and NOT ONE person returned my calls. They are also a broker, so they don't even manage the move. They sell the job to someone else and they're done. I have now learned about other companies that do it all and pride themselves on communication and customer service. AND their pricing is much more transparent and BETTER! I will never use a broker. Apparently, anytime a relocation company asks for money up front, they are SCAMMERS! And that is exactly what my experience was with all these liars. Elite only communicated with me until my deposit, then I got a phone call the day of the move from the movers. They NEVER reached out to confirm or give an accurate move window. Let's now talk about American Home Relocation.  TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE. No one helped communicate and coordinate the move. The movers lied to me about costs, they told me gratuity was mandatory and was 15% of the move costs, and THEY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH ROOM ON THE TRUCK FOR MY HOUSEHOLD GOODS. The truck arrived with stuff already on it. This may be standard, but the fact that they ran out of room was WILD! They charged me more money because the load was larger than anticipated. They told me that the broker, Elite Moving Parters, grossly underestimated the load size. I gave Elite all the details of my apartment and told them item by item what was in each room. All lies! They did it to get my money. American Home Relocation were also liars. The two despicable humans that were moving my items were inexperienced and didn't care to handle my items with care. They broke and damaged a lot of my furniture, and upon delivery I found out that they LOST items. I am still dealing with this now. Delivery was on par with the rest of my experience. It was a long distance move, and even though the guys at pickup said that they would be delivering (LIE), I am glad that they were not. The guys delivering did not contact me until 10min before showing up. No one communicated with me between pickup and delivery. I called and called and wrote emails and no one was communicating back with me! ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! I reached out about claims and they've sent me to the claims service and to this minute no one has reached back out to me in months! We asked for an empty truck and they came with it 1/4 full. They broke items in the move. The foreman, David, told us we owed him $300. When we said no, he then proceeded to ask "then how much you want to pay me? You decide." Um, no. This carrier has been nothing but an absolute nightmare. Items such as table and chairs, rugs, antique shelves, 5 drawer storage bin etc missing and half of items I did recieve were destroyed. When company was contacted I either had to leave message or I was hung up on and lied to. When they did deliver, I had 30 minutes of warning. My boxes were dilapidated, opened. My couch was no longer white, had cigarette burns on it. Not to mention the movers stalled for the first hour they arrived, complaining, and tried to give me multiple items that were not mine. THIS COMPANY IS A LESSON IN SCAM ARTISTS WHO WANT YOUR MONEY BUT DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO DO ANY OF THE ACTUAL WORK THEY ARE BEING PAID FOR. I have been trying to get hold of someone at this company to figure out where my items are. I was told they had 2-7 business days from pickup to deliver my items and they never showed up even though I scheduled them for November 6. They said that I never paid them, but I did and it did not clear their system and I did not receive any call back to fix the issue. And because they do not have a record of payment from me until November 8 (the day I called them to find out where they have my items and discovered this payment issue) they have 35 business days to deliver my items. There is a good chance that I will not get my items until December 27, because at this rate I am unable to give them the benefit of the doubt and think that they will deliver any time sooner than they absolutely have to before they are able to be sued. I was also told initially that they would hold my items on the truck rather than store them because it was only for one week, and found out today that my items were moved off of the truck and into their warehouse in Chicago. So not only are my things not where I was promised they would be, but I have to wait for them to have a truck available to drive from Chicago to Nashville which is going to be longer in the dispatch time. I have worked with Brittany, Tara, and Monique trying to get this figured out. Brittany was the diamond in the rough in that customer service department. Tara no-holds-barred yelled at me on the phone and then hung up on me. Monique was no help, would not let me finish a sentence, and told me that I needed to "quit running my mouth". I tried to figure out who the General Manager was over there, and was finally (after about five minutes) told that his name was Eli. I asked for Eli's phone number, and was told that he does not have one but I could call customer service and they can transfer me to him. Which means he has a phone number but they won't give it to me. Okay fine, instead I then I asked if I could have his email address and was denied that as well. I asked for a last name so I can try contacting this individual on my own, and was almost told that he didn't have one of those either but Monique caught herself and just told me that they do not give out last names. So now my life is in their warehouse three states away, I am unable to live in my apartment because of it, and I have no idea when I will be getting my items. I will be reporting this to the BBB, and will work every day to find my items and get them delivered. read more

By time someone sees this review it is probably going to be too late for them. We didn't pick American Home Relocation to handle our move but got them by way of a broker. First mistake....NEVER use a broker to handle your move. . Unfortunately this is our first time we have ever needed to hire help for a move. We had no idea that we were dealing with a "coordinating service" instead of the moving company when we contracted for the move. It all started with a business card they provided us with at the local U Haul for movers.com. DON'T contact movers.com. You will be slammed with calls from multiple companies wanting to handle your move. I presume that they are all brokers so you have no idea who they will hire to handle your move which is how we ended up with American Home Relocation and is how they can stay in business. The biggest complaint I have is that it ended up costing way more than had been quoted. The movers seemed very nice but one piece was missing and I have my doubts if we will ever see it as I have made numerous attempts to contact the company and have not been able to reach them. read more

I unfortunately cannot give a negative rating. I was having a 13 foot camper and a hutch sent from NC to CA. I contracted thru a company in Florida, but they sub-contracted to these crooks. They showed up 2 days after their scheduled time. Took the stuff. The. A week later, I received a call and was given a choice. I had to pay 3 times the original quote, or pick the stuff up in Charlotte (2 hours from the house). Oh, I would need to pay an additional fee for storage. I agreed to pick up the camper from the storage facility. Unfortunately it took two additional weeks and my retaining an attorney to get my stuff back from them. It was a total nightmare. Last week I filed complaints with DOT and Illinois Attorney General's office. They are not registered in BBB but I will notify them anyway. When they FINALLY showed up in Montana MONTHS later I was missing at least 4 large items. For months I have been calling begging for help. They kept telling me I have to file a claim even though all my items where supposedly "taged" with my moving number. One gal even told me they could check the warehouse for me and to call back in a couple days. This went on for a month or so. Then the file a claim came up... I called again today for what feels like the millionth time to be told the warehouse has been cleaned out and my items have been taken to the DUMP! Never happened. They man that showed up to deliver my stuff was dirty and gross. Cussed the whole time and never once asked me where I wanted any of my items. DO NOT USE AMERICAN HOME RELOCATION or a moving broker. I used a moving broker that was very nice on the phone and at the time didn't know they hired other companies to actually move you. They set me up with them and took a deposit and left me to deal with them. They couldn't give me accurate day or time until 24 hours before my move. They ended up calling me the day I told the broker I needed to move (the 1st) and said they can do my move the next day on the 2nd between 12 and 4pm. I told the extremely rude woman on the phone that I had to be at my new place by 5pm which is 3 hours away , to pick up my keys. She said let me see what we can do I'll get back to you. They will under estimate the amount/load and will charge you double what they quote. They did show up on time but when they came to deliver they brought the wrong items and had to come back 8 hours later with our items. They are a brokers regardless what they say. When you sign up they don't tell you that you will only get 60 cents per pound for your missing goods. How do you loose a leather loveseat, huge Craftsman rolling toolbox full of tools, desk, dresser and 11 boxes? Not to mention destroying my waterbed frame. I have table legs and a large box of linens that are not mine. The initial quote for the move was $3,928. I moved from Ohio to Arizona; both bedroom sets were damaged, the living set was destroyed, dresser damaged, tv stand damaged, not to mention they were four days late. Now I have to go through a process of filing a claim to get my stuff paid for. Had the guys in Ohio not forced my box spring down the stairs I wouldn't have to go through this BS for my bedrooms they left a hole the size of a pizza box in my wall at the condo during the move, then one of the guys laid on the floor and kept on kicking my living room set out of the door until it was free now the back legs won't go on the leather is ripped, and the wood is damaged to the point where it can not be repaired. What a joke! DO NOT USE THEM. I don't even know how this company is still open. The fact that this is an actual business is laughable; their company phone does not even have a voicemail. If you manage to get through during operating hours, you will be put on an endless hold leading to a hang up. After over a month of waiting, I finally received my items after threatening legal action to the broker who assigned this nightmare company. By the time my items arrived, it looked like the boxes had been drug behind a truck, everything was broken. I am not sure how hard you have to throw a bubble wrapped set of metal pans to break them, but rest assured - they will do it for you. My items were covered in FILTH and smelled so horrible that I had to throw my couch and bed away. It smelled like they had been in an outside dump for months.... I also had new tape on my boxes containing any clothing and shoes, this leads me to believe certain belongings had been rummaged through in hopes of a nice find. I also have a box full of someone else's items, please let me know if you are missing men's clothing! I called the mover right after they left and asked how to get the clothing to the right person, all he cared about was an extra tip. The company is refusing to give me a number to file a claim against my broken/damaged items and returning the gentlemen's clothing. Beware of 'elevator' and 'long walk' charges, stand your ground, these people are outrageous. The movers will give you their whatsapp number and then block you, so don't try to call them for help. If I could go back, I would have eaten the deposit I gave to Gold Standard Moving and hired a real moving company. I had a horrible feeling when these sketchy people arrived to take my belongings, and boy was I right! I will 100% be filing state and federal complaints against all parties involved. Fast Facts: - Do NOT go through a broker, the less parties involved, the better. - Truly never encountered such incompetent, ignorant and simply useless people. - Overall, a HORRIBLE experience, please do NOT ever consider this company! My furniture took 14 weeks to be delivered, yes, I know, insane. Tara, Daisy & Monique are all exceptionally useless and highly rude individuals. Not a single office employee was of any help my entire 14 week period, no explanations for holding my belongings for SO long. I was actually impressed at how much the employees did not care, I've never seen anything like this. My belongings arrived 8/21.... 14 weeks later. Majority of my furniture had damage, some rather severe, but at least I actually had it. Many boxes were falling apart, it's as if they blindly threw everything as hard as they could. They showed up in a semi truck despite knowing my apartment situation for 14 weeks, thankfully the movers themselves were contracted in for this and we made it work, I planned for this and rented a Uhaul and moved myself in once they loaded we went our separate ways, I was content to be done with everyone involved. The most infuriating part is, this company made $300 extra, as they forced this fee to be paid in order to be "dispatched immediately" aka 4 weeks later. The moving date continued to get pushed back, then it took them an entire month to deliver HALF of my stuff. I have text message proof from the driver that my stuff was not delivered and was still on their truck. Movers were wasted and pants were literally falling off while trying to move large items. I'd give them negative stars if it were possible. I used National Relocation for my move from OH to WI. No idea they'd contract out to AHR. Raining for my pick up, I wanted to push it, but they said they'd be back in two weeks if I insisted, which was a deal breaker because of lease ending (they knew it was ending). For delivery, Jerry (#2 in co.) called me to say they only had one delivery person available and he put an ad on Craigslist for a guy in Milwaukee. I expressed my concern that a random, non-licensed/background-checked person would be involved. My concerns were ignored. The driver arrives alone. He insists everything is fine. I have a 6 foot dining table and other very large items he could not handle himself. I'm forced to send a Zelle payment to his Boss. I do not sign the contract consenting to begin unloading, he begins anyway. He didn't even have a dolly and asked me to drive him to Home Depot so he could buy one! I ask him to please stop and he threatens me, saying "you need to keep your cool and I'm going to lose mine." Mind you, all I was saying was "What's the plan? What are we doing here?" and "Please stop." I call his boss, who says to have him call him. He wouldn't pick up the calls. He doesn't respond, nor acknowledges anything I say. He just stares me down anytime I say anything. Then he abruptly stops, gets in the truck and drives away. Disappeared for an hour. Even though I'd ostensibly been robbed I couldn't call the police because what would happen to my stuff? Returns with a thing that old ladies use to carry grocery bags; I'm assuming that was the dolly -- didn't get used for anything. Eventually, I'm forced to help unload my own things just so he doesn't drag them across the concrete and into my home. Many of my items had heavy damage. They stacked a 60 lb. butcher block slab on top of my 51" flat screen! Every cardboard box was smashed in some way. This was an absolute nightmare. read more

Wow. Messed up by going through Capital City Moving, whom I thought did the moving themselves (hence the name?) but nope, they were a broker. First mistake. Then, these guys showed up. If I'd have know who would be doing the actual moving, I could have googled a bit about them, but unfortunately, I didn't find this until after they got my stuff. They also are trying to charge me imaginary fees despite the fact that I didn't even end up taking half the items I originally was quoted for. AND They missed AN ENTIRE ROOM. It's been weeks and I'm still not sure what's going on. They refuse to contact me OR the broker when reached out to. When I did contact someone, they told me their SUPERVISOR would contact me. It's been almost 2 whole weeks since that phone call. Nothing. I just want to know where these fees are coming from and what they are for, but they can't even disclose that???? The lack of communication is appalling too. If I could give them negative stars, I would. I've already contacted the Better Business Bureau as well. This Co. must be the worst moving co in the world. Eli, the suppost owner, has lied and stolen 400 cu ft of my items that he was to move from Rogersville, Mo to Patten, Me and what he did deliver half was damaged. It has now been a year and I can get no resolve. He will not even take my calls. On May 24, 2021, I spoke to Greg B. (Ext. 117). I asked him if American Long Distance Moving and Storage used their own trucks. He lied and said they used their own trucks. However, it was a broker firm. They outsourced my move. It was suppose to take place on 5/27/2021. However the driver did not show up from 5-8 as scheduled. I waited at my clinic from 4-9PM. The driver arrived the next morning. He could not begin competing the delivery until after the medical office saw all of their morning patients. The driver who found a random man from St. Louis to help him. As t hey were moving my items out, you could tell the experience was not there and it took longer than expected. With three fourths the move completed, his boss asked what was taking so long and to see the truck. The boss then asked to FaceTime with me and demanded additional money immediately. All the items were provided to Greg B. that were going to be moved and an estimate was provided. I was given an estimate for 68 boxes and I only had 25 boxes. I had 2 exam tables, waiting room chairs, 3 desk, file cabinets, etc. The movers came and midway through the move, the boss of the driver called, demanded more money, and I told him that I was quoted for 68 boxes and all the item mentioned earlier and that I do not have 68 boxes but 25. I told him I wasn't going to pay extra. He told his driver to move all of my items out of the truck and just leave them on the street. It was 9:30 when the driver unloaded my items onto the street. I had no way to move my items back up to the 2nd floor of my clinic. I left to go try and find someone with a truck to recover my items. I could not find anyone. When I came back at 6AM in the morning, all of my items were gone except a few things. The items had been rained on all night and were ruined. I called and spoke to Bobby Sherman, Manager, of American Long Distance Moving and Storage, he said it was my fault, showed no sympathy, and refused to give me the insurance money to file a claim for my stolen and lost items. read more
