No wonder you have an F on the Better Businees Bureau ! i did not choose this company, i originally contracted IMRG (Interstate Moving & Relocation Group), a broker who hired American Home Relocation. on July 24th Pick up went smoothly, we finished packing the fragile and expensive items as the movers were packing the furniture and taking down the boxes to the truck. Then things start to get ugly. Only a month after pick up i am finally able to get a clear delivery date to the new address. On August 18th the movers show up, destroying a car's front bumper with their truck and ignoring it. moments later the police show up as some people did see it happen and reported the truck. After paying in cash the balance due they start to unload the truck to realize none of the items are mine. My shipment's current location is unknown and even after contact both IMRG and American Home Relocation no one knows where it is... finally on August 21rst i get a call from "American Home Relocation's manager in Chicago" telling apologizing and telling me my shipment is fully loaded and will arrive the next day by noon. August 22nd, 12pm, IMRG calls me to inform me my shipment is being located and delivery will happen within next week. I answer this is wrong as the moving company contacted me as they found it, upon asking for explanations the operators tells me "i have work to do i need to go" and just hangs up. 3 calls on which she kept hanging up on me i can finally talk to a manager who just refuses to answer me or confirm my items will really be delivered. The movers call me at 1pm telling they will arrive at 2:30pm. 5pm, no news, no one is here, i call them, no answer. the movers finally show up at 9pm, no apology, no excuse, they want to get the money and "start right now to not spend the whole night doing this ****". unfortunately, my bike is broken, some furniture got banged up. After 2hours, midway, my elevator broke down (i live on the 2nd floor, right next to the elevator. After being INSULTED and literally threatened to them leaving everything as it is (50% of my items in the lobby and the rest in the truck) they get ready to leave unless i give them each 200$. it is 10pm, their manager doesn't answer the phone, neither IMRG. i had no choice but to agree, especially as one was extremely aggressive verbally and physically. when their job is done htey take a few pictures of the boxes, do NOT give me a bill of landing or any document and leave. so not only both I and my wife had to take TWO days off EACH for nothing but they forced us to pay more money and on top of that gave us no possibility to check the number of items delivered. turns out, the small box containing a PS4, 3 controller, an XBOX one, 1 controller, my wife's jewelry box and 300$ worth of gift cards was missing !!! American Home Relocation never answer my calls for a claim and IMRG guided me towards movingclaims.net. i am filing a pollice report but according to IMRG, i will never see my items again neither be reimbursed. This company DESTROYED half of the items they were entrusted to move my grandmother's belongings from one state to another. They were hired by a broker company called Moving Pro US out of Las Vegas. Do not use them either. Shady shady companies the both of them. The LOST a 1950s vintage tabletop (I got the legs and the leaf!) they destroyed a couple of 1950s side tables. And lost part of a vintage lamp which makes it impossible to install. After seeing what a horrific job they did (after we waited a month for delivery!) I saw the reviews of this company on Google reviews (the good reviews are all fake btw) and BBB where they have an F rating. The story is always the same- hired via a "broker" and they either never deliver, steal and/or break the items they are moving. I hope I can get recourse from my credit card company because I see from others that these people won't do anything to remedy the pain and sadness caused by their existence in my life. How can these people continue to scam everyone day after day. We lost over $15000.00 in our move because the gentlemen who moved us not only "lost" all of our designer shoes, clothes and art in the move they also stole over 30 pair of additioNal shoes from our home. One of the drivers was distracting us inside while the other driver was loading up our personal items that weren't meant to be moved. Long story short it took 2 months to get out stuff from Michigan to California. Nobody could help on the phone and when our truck finally arrived in California half of our stuff was missing. Bed, couch, brand new mattress, designer shoes and clothes. They went through our boxes and took out the expensive stuff bc when the boxes arrived they weren't even the boxes we shipped out stuff in. What a horrible experience! I've filed complaints with the BBB and Transportation Board and the responses back were unacceptable. Opening lawsuit. American Home Relocation stole all of my property from my home without my consent. I called the police, they stopped the truck and ordered them to return to my home. The manager spoke to police, cussed them out and cussed me out. Drivers complained they couldnt unload because they already worked 8 hours that day and needed to get home. This was the very worst moving experience I have had. Heirloom furniture picked up in Clinton Iowa, Sept 2019. They took it to some unknown storage place until they finally delivered it to me in Nov 2019. They LOST the headboard to my great grandmothers bedroom set. They broke 3 pieces of the furniture. I filed a claim with their outside claim company - ridiculous amount of paperwork on April 2020. They want to give me $79 for my troubles! They said a check would arrive in 30-60 days. It is now Sept 2020.How about the lost headboard instead!!!! I still have gotten nothing. The claim company has washed their hands of it. They say I have to contact AHR... will good luck with that! American Standard Moving sub contracted to American Home Relocation Services and I have never been so appalled with a moving company. They lost a large box of clothing plus a headboard and offered us 50.00 for a claim amount? You have got to be kidding me! I recently shipped furniture from Kansas to Florida end of February. The entire process was a nightmare. Firstly, I contacted Southern Guarantee Company and they gave me a "reasonable quote" to do the move. About 5 days before my things were to be picked up, they called me back and $1000 went onto the original quote because they claim the first quote was incorrect and the items needed more space than was initially allocated by their worker. I said "ok I will pay the additional funds because I didn't want any drama or surprises on the pick up day". The pick up day finally comes and I suddenly receive a New Quote that is twice the initial quote even though I sent even less items than were on my initial quote!! I was so confused and distressed and had to be sending invoices back and forth the two companies. The customer reps apologized for the confusion and inconvenience but I was already trapped into a messy and deceiving situation. The only good thing is they allow for the shipment to be paid in installments. However, when I paid the balance prior to delivery, they could not give me a set timeframe for delivery. They just called abruptly a week later and said "your furniture are coming in 1-3 days". The driver called the following day and said they were coming the next day... I was working that night so I asked if they could push the delivery back a day, then I was told it would cost an extra $700 dollars (even though the contract says they store free for up to 30 days). The moving guys were professional but everyone else and the companies Southern Guarantee, American Home Relocation and Logistics Moving Company (they all change up the names periodically) are dishonest and liars. They are only interested in your money and once you sign that contract the misery starts. Run from these guys!!! UPDATE: Finally they delivered items last Wednesday. Treadmill missing. Items are handled poorly Took additional $ 300 saying they need a shadow truck. My mattress & mattress protector stained and they removed my original mattress packing , replaced with theirs. They delivered someone else's box spring ( I noticed it after they left) and when I called & told them to take it back they said the item had my lot sticker and they are dispatch people and they cannot take it back and I have to talk to moving company.( I sent an email to the moving company). After reading these reviews and then following up in the BBB site and seeing their rating, I decided to cancel my upcoming move either these scam of a company. The contract says that you can cancel up to 7 days prior to original move date, which is 5/24. They're telling me my original move date is the date that i called them for a quote. I'm not sure how that works but they're refusing to refund my $452. I've contacted my credit card company on this one and plan escalate this even further with the BBB and my attorney. DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY! I honestly cannot urge you strongly enough to go with someone else. Literally, anyone. In the midst of the moving chaos I neglected to do my research, and because of the extremely low quote I went with AHR, and it truly was a nightmare from that point on. Pros: -Quick easy quote process -Very nice salesman named Kevin (who fell off the face of the planet after I signed the paperwork). Cons: -Lots of redundant emails -Arrived 24 hours late for pick-up -Quote included door-to-door service, but when the movers arrived to our storage unit they refused to move our belongings without an add $3-400 charge. This was something the "nice" sales person Kevin assured me would not happen as those charges really only occur when drivers need to park down the block from the moving site. -Michelle (Manager of Customer Service) was maybe the rudest most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. When I called to chat about how disappointed I was with the entire pick-up experience she acted defensive, snotty and did all she could to point the finger at me. The conversation ended when she hung up on me. -I made attempts to talk to Michelle's manager (Allen) for literally weeks to escalate my complaint in hopes he would be more reasonable. Boy, was I wrong. Allen was just as rude and unreasonable as Michelle. I have never been talked to or treated with such disrespect. I was really in awe of how they were treating me. Not just from a business point of view, but on a human to human level. They were just SO MEAN! -Our belongings got picked up on January 17th and were not delivered until February 27th. Not nearly as speedy as they had quoted -Trying to get a quote of when our things would be delivered was THE WORST! No one seemed to know what was going on or when they would even begin the shipping journey. -THE COST WE ENDED UP PAYING WAS OVER DOUBLE THE QUOTE! -When they finally said our things were on the way they quoted our delivery date wrong. 3 TIMES! This means they said they were going to come Saturday, then pushed it to Sunday, then pushed it to Monday (which I had to take off work for), THEN FINALLY on Tuesday morning the rude delivery driver called me at work and said he was at our apt. Extremely inconvenient. -Upon arrival I worked with property management about the best place for them to unload the truck which was an 18 WHEELER TRUCK (so get ready to try to find a place for this). Anyway, the driver refused to try to park the truck where property management told him (as they had seen it done before). This meant he parked down the block and charged an added cost for having to carry the furniture a longer way. -I was told they would take down furniture (like bed)s and put it back together upon delivery. NOT! All in all, they will hook you in with a low ball quote. DO NOT LET THIS FOOL YOU. My entire experience with this company was nothing short of a nightmare. Please, for the love of God, use a more reputable moving coming. Moving is stressful and dealing with these jerks who could care less about you or your belongings will make it 10x worse. To be honest, I could not wait until our things had been delivered so I could write this review and do my part to warn people away from this company. Capital City Movers use these people to deliver your items and they lie and deceive the customer. They picked up 1500 sq ft of items and only delivered 1100 sq ft. with no explanation as to where the rest is. Two mos later Eli Davis, the mgr, said he found one of the three missing wardrobes, but has yet to deliver it and it has now been 3 more mos. Eli Davis is a liar and or a theif. No idea where our items are. Have they taken our items and sold them, or have they just decided to use them themselves? What they delivered so much was broken and damaged. They held our belongings hostage until we gave them additional money. 25% over the agreed to price. I would not recommend them to anyone. They told us what we wanted to hear and then tried to increase the price on the pick. I refused and told them to unload. They again agreed to the price and said it was okay. Once business was 'won'and initial payment made, I should have been suspicious when the salesman Alex could no longer be reached. Could no longer speak to anyone from first office. "job has been handed over to dispatch" Representative could not explain the increase - must speak to supervisor. Supervisor will return my call. No response. was told supervisor was OOO. Finally got a hold of the supervisor - Only adjustment he could make was $75 out of an increase of $478.39 Accepted it in the interest of time and in an effort to ensure a timely delivery. Contract stated 21 days from earliest date. When I called customer service, it was now changed to 21 days from receipt of 2nd payment. All of this was put into an email to three (3) person at the company - NO RESPONSE. Conclusion: STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. Well, I wish I would have done my thorough research before I clicked on this company. After calling 10 companies, I thought oh this was is a few hundred dollars cheaper, and seems legit... In summary, I have had the same unfortunate services as many of the people before me. I wish I would have checked the BBB (which I have now filed a claim with them). I was trying to schedule a studio move from Tennessee to Virginia. I knew my studio was less approximately 350- 400 cubic feet. But of course, like many other customers they low balled me so I would secure my deposit. When the truck got to the storage unit in Tennessee, I kindly asked them to leave the big furniture and only bring the boxes (which they did eventually). With leaving the huge furniture pieces, I knew the estimate of cubic feet should have been less. The movers called and said our items would be available on Friday (same week) which was a lie. Then they called a few days later and said one more week, which was fine at the time. By the time I got the mover to my new storage space, I noticed that there were some items missing and even the driver said - hey the lamp in this picture the driver sent you is missing. I am glad he mentioned it, and I did a more thorough look of items we had missing. When we moved everything into our 10x 10 I spoked with Monique and said, hey this is definitely less than 400 cubic feet but they are up-charging us. To which Monique claimed, the trucks use their own measuring system. The last time I checked, a measuring tape was used the same way, but they must use it a crooked way. I filed an e-mail claim to some "customer service" email, and then I tried calling Monique who was supposed to help us, but never did. My household items were picked up on September 29th,2019. After nine weeks and a failed delivery, I finally received most of my goods at the beginning of December. There was minor damage, but I could ignore that. My electric automated bed, however, was not delivered with the other items. It has been more than six months since the delivery and 9 months since the shipment was picked up and though I have made repeated attempts, I still have not received the bed. I utilized their services in June of 2023 (Around the 4th) for my relocation from AL to OH. To begin with, my quoted price from the broker was about half of what my final cost ended up. My load was to be delivered between 7 and 21 business days (per their contract). I attempted several times to call them but kept getting the run around. Their phone agents are the RUDEST people I have ever dealt with. I eventually was connected with a man named Elli (whom I assume was either the business owner or ....). This was around the 26th of June. He promised the load would be delivered by the end of the following week. He said 3-4 days before the delivery, I would get a confirmation call. 2 days before the delivery, I reached out to him at 6785343204. He was even more rude than the phone operators. I asked him about the delivery and told him i hadn't received a call yet. He yelled out that the week wasn't over yet. I mentioned to him that the commitment was a call would be received 3-4 days prior to. He hung up the phone. Fortunately, the driver who loaded me up stayed in touch and that was the only source of sensible communication I had with this company. On the 5th of July, i received a call from the company. They said my load was being loaded and I would get a call from the driver/dispatch at least 3-4 days before. I told them that this communication would be vital as I would have to make arrangements for the delivery. At approximately 6PM local time on the 11th of July, I received a call from a driver who said he would be delivering the next day between 10AM and 12 noon. This was highly inconvenient as I had minimal time to notify my job. I had no choice but to make provisions. Upon arrival, the driver asked if I was aware of the "mandatory gratuity". I said that doesn't make sense: it's either mandatory or voluntary. Her later changed the verbiage to "it would be appreciated. My load was delivered. They went their way (with a tip) however, I would NEVER recommend them. I was hoping there was a 0 star for the review as they should not be a 1 star read more

April 30th, they showed up 5 hours after pickup window. Did not assist in loading the truck. Charged an extra $300 for going over estimated square footage but instead of placing it with the overall bill, the drivers took it as a tip. Didn't leave til after midnight and the driver, Aubrey was rude and disrespectful. We were told to give them 14 days to process and prepare delivery. Our requested delivery date was May 26, 2021. We called after the two weeks and couldn't get through to the company. We had to contact the initial company who brokered my job, In-Motion Movers LLC out of West Palm Beach, FL. We didn't receive an update from them for about 3 days. When we finally made contact with AHR, we were told we had a unpaid balance which increased by $1300 from the original price, which was $2500. The manager was given the phone and he was disrespectful and rude with no concern for the missing $300 payment or increase that was not communicated at pick up. May 25th, the updated balance to be placed on dispatch list was paid. I was told it would be on the next trip out to California. Possible drop off was June 24th, which is their legal 21 day before a daily discount is applied. I call daily and each time I'm told it's on the dispatch list but no delivery date has been determined. I asked for a release form 3 times and it was never sent. They require me to pay the drop off balance of $1000 to release my items. This whole process has been more than stressful and this business along with their staff have been a complete nightmare. I DO NOT RECOMMEND EITHER COMPANY TO ANYONE! I also reported to the BBB where they have no accreditation and one star. No response. If I ever receive my furniture, I'll post an update on if things are damaged or missing. read more
