William and Charlie did an absolutely amazing job delivering my belongings. I moved from CA to FL. I had a very large, oversized sofa - it was nothing short of a miracle that they were able to bring it in, without any damage, into my home. They also offered to bring things upstairs that weren't even part of my move, which was very gracious. On top of that, they delivered everything 2 days ahead of schedule. If I could give Day & Night Movers of Chicago a zero star review I would. 1) First off, I scheduled a move for Saturday, July 4th, as Day & Night movers said this was the day the worked best for my schedule. When Day & Night Movers called to say they couldn't do the move that day, after all. I was more than flexible even though this was the day I really needed the items moved. So we scheduled it for Sunday the 5th at 10 AM. 2) Sunday morning at 8:30 AM, I received a call from a man who was not very friendly, while I remained quite flexible and accommodating - and he told me that 2 movers for my job is unacceptable and I had to repeat all the details of my move. He told me I needed to add another mover and then they were able to finish the job in under 2 hours BUT I still had to pay the minimum 3 hours and an increased truck rate. The 3rd man was completely unnecessary and forced on me against my will. 3) Not only was the date changed on me, but the movers DID NOT make there 8-10 am time window. They provided no update until 4:30 PM. They were over 6 hours late with NO EMAIL, NO Call, nothing. They were entirely unreachable. My entire Sunday was ruined, I was left in the dark, I missed and lost $75 for my haircut appointment then missed my friends birthday party. They arrived at 5 PM. That was shocking, to say the least. And they did not care at all. I don't think I have ever been so disappointed with a service and I purposely chose Day & Night Movers of Chicago because it was a local family-owned business. And when I followed up with them afterward, they refused to answer my emails after several attempts. Please do yourself a favor and NEVER use this company. Picked "Day and Night" because they had comparable pricing, but more importantly, they were available on the date I wanted which was about a week out. Pricing - They charged me $120 truck fee, and $120/hr for 3 guys with a minimum charge of 3 hours. Also, any packing material used they charge you. They used what I had, but it wasn't enough. I kept some of their moving blankets for convenience which were $15 a piece. There's a 3.8% fee if you pay with a card. Job performance They gave me an arrival time between 8-10 am with a 30 min call before arrival. They arrived just after 10, which isn't terrible, just had me nervous until I got their call. 3 guys showed up, I pointed out what I needed moved. They worked quickly, efficiently, and no complaints. Just got it done. Even needed to add in a quick stop to drop off some items at a separate location. Job was done in just under 3 hours which was nice compared to the 6 they anticipated it'd take. Signed some paperwork, paid, and gave the guys a nice tip. This is not an easy job that they do. I plan on using them to move my items from my storage unit to my new house. read more

I would give them a power rating if there was one but this company is the most unreliable company that our family has ever hired for moving. They kept delaying delivery of our daughters things to the point that they could not even give her an ETA. They were more than a week late and when our daughter tried to reach them, they stopped answering the phone. Not even the owners could be reached. And when they finally showed up, they had altered the contract and added more fees to the delivery. They are crooks. And on top of that, they refused to deliver the furniture to her apartment so she had to do it. Please share this experience with everybody. Wow, what a surprise! Such a great experience with day & night movers of Chicago. I was in a pinch, I had ordered a couch from Ashley furniture store online. The original moving company that moved the couch was unable to get the couch into my apartment due to its size. After going back and forth with the movers they said it couldn't be done and there is nothing they could do to help me. And after paying $1,500 for a couch that wouldn't fit into my apartment I felt stuck and very frustrated. My neighbor actually recommend Day & Night Movers, said she they team there was very friendly and quick. So I gave them a shot, and let me say they did not disappoint. I talked with Michelle over the phone and she was great in getting me set up. I had met Ronald, the mover at the location where the couch was purchased from. He was very professional and patient as we waited for the paperwork from the original delivery company to release the couch to us. Once we received the couch Ronald had the couch loaded up in no time and we were headed to my apartment for the install. I am very nervous at this time and had explained the situation to Ronald about the previous moving company and how the couch wouldn't fit. He asked for a few measurements and assured me there shouldn't be a problem getting the couch into the apartment. Keep in mind I'm on the third floor, not the easiest task at all. But once we got the the apartment Ronald and his team got to work. Very professional making sure everything was protected and nothing damaged.., and before you know it they had the pieces up the stairs and in my apartment! No easy task, they tried a few different things but they never gave up And got the job done. I was blown away how fast they got everything done. And the couch I have is HUGE!! I can't even explain how excited and thrilled I am that I can keep the couch I bought online. The company I purchased the couch from made me feel like I had no options if it wouldn't fit. I contracted through MovingAPT for Day & Night Movers to move my mom's furniture from Chicago to Florida. The movers arrived on time and were very nice and packed everything up safely. Unfortunately, it has been almost a full month (pickup was on March 29 and it is April 27) and my mom still does not have her clothes or furniture or any of her belongings. The first four or five times I tried to contact someone about status, I got no reply. When I finally did get an answer, they said that the furniture would be delivered today (April 27) at the very latest. But guess what? No call, no update on status, no furniture. They finally replied and said there is yet another delay, and I have to call them back on Friday for an update. read more

I hired a contractor moving company who coordinated movers for me, it was such a pain. BUT I was incredibly pleased with this company they chose and the movers! William and his sons are very respectful in every way, truly good and trustworthy people. If you are thinking of moving, go directly through this company, don't hire a contractor moving company. This was a very stressful time for me and a positive time in my life moving to a new home and a new area more than 140 miles from Chicagoland. Ronald and all of the staff at day-and-night movers were professional, courteous, honest, affordable and took great care with every item I asked wrapping meticulously. My friend recommended this company to me and I called right away. They packed my items with such care and the dispatcher was so helpful and called me 24 hours in advance of the pickup and they delivered my items to my new place in 5 days. The owner of the business, William Villegas will take NO responsibility and will not even discuss any type of reimbursement. I would STRONGLY recommend using a different moving company. The move went smoothly. They gave me a window of arrival between 12-5 the arrived at 2:30. I was the second move of the day. Once they had an eta they called to let me know when they'd be arriving. I have a two bedroom apartment with a dinning set, washer & dryer on the second floor of a 100 yr old building with spiral staircase. They had me completely moved by 7. However, the real MVP's were Sherwin, Alston, Joseph & Andre. These young men were polite, swift, professional and patient during this ordeal. Beware! I would give zero stars if that was an option. These guys are the absolute worst. Set up my move weeks in advance with them and received a call THE DAY OF that they cannot fulfill my whole move. Yes, I'm understanding of a mistake , but as a business when you do not attempt to work with the person and accommodate the new plans that were caused because of YOU I have no respect for that. Instead of owning up to their mistake and making things right they told me "we have a 3 hour minimum". Thank you for informing me of your rules, while changing things on me the day of. I clearly wouldn't have scheduled you if I knew all you were moving was my bed/TV and charging me a minimum of 3 hours at $90/hour, plus truck to go 2 miles. I'm a business owner myself and I know what I would have done if I was put in this scenario. It's as easy as changing the quote to a 2 hour move and you would have got my business. Unfortunately, we don't all understand the world of owning a business. Shame on you guys. It's clear to me that money is the only important thing to these guys. Do not use them for a cross-country move. Day N Night Movers is unorganized and unable to provide any specific information about delivery dates. They care very little about customer services and would rather not communicate with the customer. Colonial Van Lines contracted out our move to Day N Night Movers without us moving. Day N Night took 9 hours to load up a 1400 sq ft home and WE moved all boxes down from the second floor and garage due to the sloth like speed of the movers. There were only 2 crew members doing most of the work and then a foreman. They were ill prepared from the start. Following the pick-up, our belongings were weighed in at BELOW the estimated weight, but apparently took up more space than anticipated. Being below weight one would thing would be a good thing - were were thorough, truthful and honest about the items to be moved. The fact that this posed a problem for Day N Night movers screams to me they are not knowledgeable in their business or prepared enough to handle any kind of volume of moves. Because of this situation Day N Night movers did not have a truck big enough to move our items to Texas. They waited a FULL WEEK for a freight truck that never showed and neither them or Colonial let us know of this situation until the delivery date had come and gone without actual delivery. Day N Night then told Colonial Van Lines that would pack up our stuff on 2 trucks on Tuesday, April 6th and have it on the road on Wednesday, April 7th. When Colonial called on Wednesday, April 7th Day N Night movers then said they would leave Thursday or Friday for Texas delaying the driving/delievery another day or two. Because of the lack of communication and specificity, I called Day N Night movers myself for more answers and was hung up on 3 separate times. They said they were 'working', but would not schedule another time to talk to me or transfer me to anyone in he office. They took no fault for the poor communication, missed delivery or the inability to give me a set delivery date yet. They still have our belongings. It has been 13 days. NEVER USE THEM. Their only sense of urgency is delivering in a 21 day window per the motor vehicle commission guidelines. You will also receive not communication or answers within the process. read more

Do not use this moving company. They showed up to my apartment with someone else's stuff on their truck, and spent a half an hour on the phone with management because my 1 bedroom apartment was 'too much stuff' and it 'wouldn't fit in the truck'. They claimed they were told they were moving 3 items, when my confirmation and quote clearly state it was a full one-bedroom apartment move. I was moving from one high rise to another and both have strict elevator reservation times which the movers were aware of when we scheduled. Eventually the management office said they would just take two trips, and not charge me for the second trip with the truck. They wasted so much time on the phone and then trying to shove as much of my stuff onto the full truck as possible, the first trip took so long we did not even arrive to the new apartment until almost 5pm (my move was scheduled for 1pm). They did not come prepared, they did not have the wardrobe boxes for any of my clothes as the quote provided said they would. One of the movers did not even know how to wrap furniture to protect it. They were sloppy, unprofessional, and inefficient in every respect of the process. They finally got the first truck load to my new apartment and began to unload. Then they took 45 minutes to drive the 1.5 miles back to the old apartment for the second load of stuff. I ultimately got charged a fee by my new building for going past my elevator reservation time, something that would not have happened if the movers had showed up prepared, on time, and didn't need to take two trips. They also charged for 5 HOURS of moving time at over $700, left at 8pm, with my bedframe still in pieces and my entire apartment in disarray. There is no reason my move should have taken that long; a 1 bedroom apartment and under 2 mile move was quoted at and should have taken a maximum of 3 hours (and it did the last 2 times I moved with the same amount of stuff and same distance, and used New City Moving who are fantastic but were unavailable this time). It only took that long because they were inexperienced, inefficient, and had to shove all of my stuff onto an already full truck. Not only that, but they also ruined 4 pieces of furniture, with scratches all over a bookcase, scratched and dented two end tables, and broke a glass table topper, because they tried to shove so much stuff onto the already full truck they took no care of my stuff and did not wrap my furniture properly. They actually tried to just not bring me the glass topper at all because they knew they broke it, and took another 15 minutes to "go find it" then tried to hide the chip they made in the glass when they brought it in. After a full month of back and forth and calling management almost daily, I eventually got a small refund from them, but it did not nearly cover the cost of the excess hours they charged, the fee I was charged for their inefficiency, or enough to replace the 4 pieces of furniture they destroyed. I am not looking for further compensation I am just warning all future users of the risks of using this company. If you have a whole day to waste and want to buy all new furniture, go ahead and use this company. Otherwise, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. read more

The absolute worst! This group does not care about your property. I had several damaged items. The "movers" who came to deliver my property was a family of 4. A man a wife, and... their 2 little boys!! They boys were around 10 years old. Yes, you heard right. 2 children were unloading the delivery truck with my property, chairs, a couch, a table into my house. My initial contact was with Ronald, who got back to me within the hour of me requesting moving services through Angie's List. He was pleasant, informative and quoted me $75 less than the other company I had spoken to a few days prior. Ronald and Alexis were easily contacted throughout and I was informed of the mover's arrival time (only ran a few minutes behind but we were the first of the morning so it worked out great) and received an updated PDF of the quote after needing to change my move date/time a week before. The team who arrived were very courteous, efficient and got the job done! Nothing was broken and they packed/wrapped the necessary items. The quote I received was the final price I paid, no hidden fees! We were very pleased with this company and plan to tell friends and family about them as a GREAT choice for their next move. I would not recommend using this service. Not only was my desk damaged which resulted in me having to replace it but several boxes were flipped and a few of my electronic items went "missing" such as my amazon firestick, apple cords as well as a few items that were put in the disposal pile that I did not wish to dispose off. While the movers themselves were great and I understand accidents can happen, what was unfortunate was the lack of responsiveness from Ronald who is the dispatcher/owner. Whenever you would call, he was conveniently out of the office and while responsive at first to text, completely stopped responding to any attempts to follow up when it came to correcting the problem and returning my items. I have used movers 4 times and this was by far the worst experience ever. It was an all day job, the crew was supposed to be there between 8-10 and didn't show up until 11. I paid for a crew of 5, but William spent most of the day either talking on his phone or renegotiating the contract with me. Near the end of the day after banks are closed, William tells me that they only except cash. NEVER before was this mentioned to me. They hit and destroyed the mailbox at my new house with their truck and no one mentioned it to me. Then he tried to tell me that he was doing me a favor by not charging me $300 for packing supplies when the contract clearly says that these are covered. Day and Night Movers saved the day and made sure my items made it to me safely and with care. Ronald particularly , made a terrible experience with a company that contracted them bearable and beyond any other moving company standards. Ronald was a absolute professional and took customer experience and service to a new level. From the moment that Day and Night Movers took the job, they took it upon themselves to provide a level of care and attention to detail that other movers just don't do. Ronald provided clear communication and a sense of ease with moving cross country. I made the mistake of hiring a fraudulent moving company, I was fortunate enough that they contracted Day and Night Movers. It was not until that point that I had hope that my items would actually make it to me and in one piece. All my items arrived, not one item damaged. Ronald even went as far to re- box items for me that had been damaged in transit to them. Had it not been for William, Ronald and Day and Night Movers I do not believe that my items would have arrived. They advocated for me in pricing , when they did not have to. They always seem to do the right thing. The actually drivers / movers that arrived were quick, professional and careful in unloading all items . They too went aboove and beyond. Can't say enough good things. If you chose to use them for your move , your items will be to their destination on time , in one piece and you will have a fair price and clear expectations and communication just where your items are . This was the WORST moving experience I have ever had. This company ghosted us on the day that we were scheduled to move. We called them about 45 minutes after they were suppose to already be there to move us. The person who answered the phone had no idea where the driver was and gave us an "it could be 45, maybe 1 hour" excuse. 1 hour passed and we called again and nobody answered. Kept calling them and still no answer. Probably called 15-20 times and still nobody answered. They never ended up coming, completely ghosted us and we were stranded to find last minute, same day movers. Not only was the day of the move a nightmare. The customer service after the fact was atrocious. They never ended up returning any of our calls and we got a two sentence email explaining the situation. Nothing was done to even remotely rectify the situation on the companies end. I called the company and left my name and number for the manager to call me and never got a call back. I would highly caution anyone from using this company. Not only did we lose a lot of money because we had to find same day movers, but the customer service we experienced with this company was embarrassing. read more

I used Day and Night Movers at the end of Jan. I requested a crew of at least 5 and was pleased, and am content, to have had all 5 workers on my move; William, Ronald, Jason, Assai and Jonathan. My move was local. The men were all detailed and careful, fast and courteous on the 10 hour long job. Multiple times I saw and heard them share their expertise with each other, on the go (they move!). I received much help from them in handling last minute packing, and packing that morning. Day and Night had more than enough supplies on hand to wrap and pack. During the loading, and the unloading I felt assured that I was in professional hands, my move was stress free.
