He said it needed all of the works replaced as it was old, and $1,300 to repair it! Now, the clock doesn't even tick, whereas it did tick before I took it to this man. We have a mantle clock with Westminster chimes. I purchased a key from this establishment and was satisfied with their service. However, a few weeks later we wanted to adjust some of the chimes. Some of the chimes were loud and some were not. So he brought the clock in for an estimate of service. Some background; Our clock kept near perfect time and needed to be wound about every four days. It wound very simple with the key. They charge us reasonable fee of $25 for evaluating the clock. Just about a week later came the bad news. My suspicions had many red flags when they told us the movement was shot and needed to be rebuilt and will charge us $900 rebuild our movement. We rejected their recommend the service. When we brought the clock home we realized something was different with the movement. Now the clock does not keep perfect time and needs to be corrected every other day and needs to be wound every other day or so. This is not the same movement originally dropped off. Now when I wind the clock it is very hard to turn. I fear they took parts out of our clock so they could charge $900 to rebuild. I am no expert but I can definitely say my movement is different from when I originally dropped it off here. I 100% do NOT recommend this establishment. read more

Went to a jewelry store inside the Latino Mercado. They quoted $15 without ever seeing the watch. 5 minutes and $15 later, watch battery was replaced without ever asking what style or how much money my watch was. The "Watch and Clock Repair" uses unethical business practices when quoting work. ALSO, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONING ON HIS PRICING BEING SO HIGH HE WILL START YELLING AND KICK YOU OUT OF HIS SHOP. I've been coming here for about a year. They have very basic knowledge and essentially work on basic watches with the specialty of changing batteries. No problem with basic knowledge, but when I took my Tudor in for a bracelet swapped the owner didn't use the proper tools (burgeon) to remove the thick spring bars (used for a nato, any watch person knows this.) when they continued to attempt to remove the spring bars I mentioned to them they were for the nato and not the metal bracelet which would need small spring bars. I was ignored and they used a cheap spring bar tool on all 4 of my lugs. Scratched my 3k+ watch to hell. I was told to buff it out and it was the cost of getting the bracelet on because it was "hard" Nah man, this isn't an Invicta and you should respect peoples property. I got quoted for 200$ for a refinishing through Tudor. I always take before and after photos for this reason. As the watch was damaged by them the representative I spoke to asked for me to begin a claim. Please respect peoples watches and learn more basic knowledge about timepieces. I wanted to like this place but only go here if you need a battery or something. If even that. Cash only so off the books obviously. read more

I was so impressed by the skill and speed of this watch repair store. I have always gone to jewelry stores to change watch batteries but last time I tried this new place by downtown. They replaced a battery on my Movado that Rogers was unable to do. They also were able to repair my Bucherer that another jewelry store said was not repairable. I also asked for a new strap on my Seiko, and the man behind the counter said that he can actually just replace the clasp since the strap was in great condition. I went to this place to get an estimate on fixing my grandfather's cuckoo clock which was running but had an issue with one of the weights. The owner told me there was a $25 fee for the estimate (which I paid) and that it would take a week to get back to me. The estimate was very costly so I decided to not get it fixed. When I brought it home, the one chain was not working so I returned to get it fixed (it was off the track). I brought it home again and then the second chain was too high so that I could not attach the weight. Took it back a second time and was accused of breaking the clock myself and it would cost me $80 to look at it. Fortunately, the son told me to take it home and start it up so that when it cuckooed, the chain would drop down to where I needed it be. Took it home and discovered that the pendulum would not work. The clock is now dead and broken. I tried speaking to the owner to get this resolved, but he just called me "stupid" and refused to fix the pendulum. This cuckoo was working when I brought it in, and now it isn't. I am so upset as this is the only thing I have to remind me of my grandfather. read more

Absolutely horrible service from these people! I took my cuckoo clock in to get it repaired. I felt it just needed a cleaning, as that's all it's needed in the past. We talked about Eli's Clocks, which is where I've always gone. He told me they are out of business which is probably true as I've been unable to contact them. I decided to give these guys a try since there's nowhere else to go. After a $30 charge for giving an estimate (which I was fine with), they told me it would take 7 to 10 business days to get back to me. I finally had to call them because they never bothered to call me. He said it was ready and it needed either a cleaning or more likely, a new movement. When he gave me the prices, I was shocked! The cleaning price was 3 times what I paid at Eli's. I made a comment that it seemed high compared to what I had paid in the past. The owner got upset with me and said "take it to Eli's then" and actually hung up on me! I immediately went down and picked up my clock because now, because of the owner's rudness on the phone, I didn't trust them at all. When I arrived, I complained to them about their rudeness on the phone and I was given the excuse that was because the father was sick. that was a rediculous excuse and they became upset with me because I was upset with their poor business manners, go figure. I'm the paying customer but they were very disrespectful to me. When I arrived back home, I hung the clock back up on the wall and noticed the handle that controls the silent/music mode was bent. I moved the clock hands to only find out the music and cuckoo sound were completely out of step with each other. I called back to ask what they had done to my clock and was told they took the movement out and had to bend the handle to do it. When they reinstalled the movement, it was not put back in properly, causing the musical tone and the cuckooing to be all askew. They also did not bother to fix the bent handle. I felt I was pretty paitent with them on the phone but on the call, the son accused me of "getting in his face"! These people are totally out of control. The have no concept on customer service or how to do business with the public. Not to mention they may have ruined a very valuable clock that has been in my family for many years. I would never take a timepiece to these people again and I would recommend to anyone who needs help, go somewhere else!! read more
