Always use the boarding for my dog and today I waited 15 mins to even talk to someone. Then on top of that it took them about 10 mins to bring him out. I don't know why it would take almost 30 mins to pickup your dog. Will not be coming back it's dirty, unorganized, and overpriced. read more

My daughter scheduled to have her kitten boarded at the Argyle location. She spoke with a man several times and followed all the directions she was given as far as sending vet records and getting supplies. When we arrived to drop off the kitten, we were given completely different information from the woman working at the front desk. She said the VetCo had not sent records, that she had emailed my daughter, and because the kitten hadn't had her booster shots she couldn't stay. None of what the employee said was true. She had not emailed my daughter, and she had received the complete vet record because my daughter had emailed it herself. The employee claimed that she is the only person who answers the phone, but my daughter never spoke to a woman, only to a man. The employee also refused to tell us her name and wouldn't listen to us. Even before she decided my daughter's kitten couldn't stay she was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. The employee cancelled the boarding appointment while we were still in the parking lot, which is the only email she ever sent. My husband then spoke with her to ensure that they would not keep the deposit nor charge for the cancelled stay. Now we are faced with driving 13 hours out of state holding a kitten in a carrier, tryIng to figure out how to handle litter and food. Please be assured that we will never attempt to use an American Pet Spa again, and we will let all of our friends with pets know how their employee treated us. read more

Our Golden doodle has stayed here multiple times. We've never had an issue with boarding. However, twice we've asked for and this time paid for daily brushing to ensure no matting. At the end of her stay we had her groomed and she came home scalped. This time bleeding. Please know they will not brush daily even if you pay for the service and they will scalp your pet to the point of blood. Added after response from the business: The first picture was 2 days prior to drop off. She was in their care for 12 days and we knew without brushing she would be at risk for matting. We were not told that this was not a service they offered and were told they would take care of her and noted brushing was requested. The manager's response shows that the customer service is lacking. I do not want this to happen to anyone else's pet. read more

Very disappointed. This is the 2nd time they have shaved my Golden Doodle when last time I said short not shaved and this time I said I don't think he needs a haircut just nails and belly. Don't they listen to the customers or read their own notes? My dog was so thirsty when he came home because they don't offer any water to the dogs when they are getting groomed. Golden Doodles don't get shaved down to no hair. It took 2 months to grow out last time. I guess we are looking for a new groomer. Very disappointed because this place is close to our house. They used to do a great job but it seems they are lacking qualified groomers these days. Last time they also cut the quick of his nail and then said they stopped because he didn't need nails clipped. He came home and you could hear his long nails on the floor. The guy just didn't know how to clip nails. read more

American Pet Spa and Resort is awesome! We've boarded my dog, Penny, there twice and she absolutely loves it. The facility is clean, smells nice when you walk in, and the dogs have large, clean kennels with individual beds and bowls. There are also many opportunities for play time and they are given walks often in the wooded area attached to the facility. The staff also gave her a lot of attention and affection. I felt she was getting much love there. We recently did the two-week board and train with onsite dog trainer, Yana. She is an excellent trainer and kept us abreast of how Penny was doing with her training. She learned a lot in the short period of time. I would highly recommend this place for boarding, doggie daycare, and training. I'm so glad we found it... it's a hidden gem. read more

Our doodle is very skittish of groomers, due to a bad experience in another city, so I was very nervous about finding a groomer in our new home. I found this groomer from recommendations online. When I arrived, the groomer came out and listened to my concerns, and asked how I wanted my sweet girl to look. When I came back a few hours later, she was very happy, and looked adorable! After being a loyal customer for so many years I was completely shocked how things are being handled. Our dog stayed there for a few nights and when we picked up everything came home reeking of urine. Our dog has never had an issue going to the bathroom inside God for bid on her actual dog bed. When I called up there to try and get clarity they swore up and down that no other dog was in her cage but I find that confusing because she's never had an issue holding her bathroom break. So either she was not let out to go to the bathroom in a certain time. Or they had another dog in there as they were rotating cages. Either way that's completely unacceptable and it blows my mind that they thought it would be fine to take all of her belongings throw it in a trash bag and send her home with it like it never happened. I see this dog as my child and see this being handled as if you were to send your child home from daycare in this current situation. Even if in a worst-case scenario she was the one that wet her bed why would nobody note that or God for bid own up to it. Completely ridiculous and unacceptable, when I try to talk to management they completely shrugged it off. There is no room for businesses to be operated like this. read more

I do not recommend leaving your animals here. All mine came back smelling of urine and they never have accidents so this tells me they were not let out very often and I also paid for extra play time. My oldest boy (12 years old) had to be put down 2 days after picking him up. I'm not making assumptions but one can only wonder what happened while he was here. read more

My opinion is American Pet Spa & Resort is more of a boarding place. Nice setup, nice and friendly people. I took my pup there for doggy day care because I work from home and my dog is super active. Currently they are not doing group play which is why I seek doggy day care. They do one on one play with dog and worker. Also there are a bunch of additional items that you can pay for but you need to take their word for it that it gets done. There's no proof. Suggestion would be when owners come and pick up there pet they sign in to request pick up while viewing pictures that were taken throughout the day. read more

This place is amazing - from my first phone conversation to checking out after boarding our dog. All staff members were super nice. We boarded our dog here last minute as he wasn't a fan of a guest of ours. It is known that he does not eat much while away from us, whether he is being watched at home or being boarded. I talked to two of the techs when I was dropping off some special food after our dog didn't eat breakfast one day. They both were extremely nice and seemed to really love my dog - they even sat in the ground and fed him by hand when he was refusing to eat. They tried their best to get him to eat, even if it was treats or special food. I really appreciate them going above & beyond!! read more

EXTREMELY RUDE customer service When I dropped off & picked up my dog. Both the manager and the assistant manager were very rude (cutting me off mid-sentence, yelling at me, having a bad attitude). I was given false and misleading information over the phone and both managers were rude and unapologetically negative because the information I was told over the phone was incorrect and there was some information that was left out over the phone as well and they didn't want to do help or do anything about it. Instead, I was yelled at, cut off mid-sentence MULTIPLE times, and that I had the worse customer experience that I have ever had! I would never ever take my dog to this place again! read more

I had a great experience at American Pet Spa. I was able to book a reservation very easily and the prices were great. My dog got lots of space and was able to have his own bedding & toys. Boarded my boxer Friday through Monday. When he came home Monday afternoon, he ran straight through the house into the backyard where I witnessed his first runny stool. He continued like that for the rest of the evening even having a kennel accident in the middle of the night. I called the boarder on Tuesday to ask if they had noticed the loose stool or any abnormalities and they assured me everything was normal. They went on to say he ate all his food and if it continues to call them back. Well it's Thursday & he is having the same trouble. I spoke with a lady named Mary who claimed to be the GM yet refused her last name or any assistance. Mary refused to hear about any symptoms my dog is experiencing and was total dismissive about everything. All in all I will never return to this place for any service. I've boarded my dog numerous times elsewhere without any trouble and only tried this place because it was closer to home. Huge mistake! If you care about your pets, don't bother! If I could give this place no stars I would. Upon dropping our 2 dogs off, we had issues. We like our little Yorkie (who is 14 yr old) cut a specific length and the groomer advised they wouldn't do that as "they weren't comfortable.' I never had a groomer feel "uncomfortable" in the past. We asked if they could do their best then we would appreciate it. Hours later I got a call from the GM informing me that my little Yorkie was not welcome back due to her behavior. Mind you she is 14 years old and I HAVE NEVER had anyone ever bring up concerns about grooming her. As any owner would be, I was a little shocked and taken aback. While the GM said she was trying to be "as nice as possible" to me, I felt she was very condescending and rude. She later came back on and offered another groomer to service us next time... well I thought u said we weren't welcome back... now we are? Why wasn't this your first offer to us? I told them I was confused by this as she previously stated we weren't welcome, and the GM then stated I was right because I wasn't showing her "mutual respect." she refused to give me her boss's information when I asked. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. Never have I been treated in such a way of disrespect and unwelcome. My dog is old, she is little, and if you guys can't handle her (or your customers) you shouldn't be in business. read more

My small dog has her "beauty" appointment every 4-6 weeks and has been going to see Morena for three years. Definitely pleased with the service. Not so pleased with the drive in...the street has been torn up for a year....not American Pet Spa's fault but it's still a pain. Can't wait until the mess is finished. Calling the place today to try to book a swimming time and was told that the new owner will NOT honor the remaining 8 sessions. Response to the yelp comment: The swim pass is not a discount codes or coupons -- it's 10 swim sessions bundle deal. In other words, we pre-paid 10 private swim sessions, only used 2 so far (given 2020 CVOID situation). What you offered initially was 2 private swim sessions for our 8 unused private swim sessions. The absolute worst care for dogs and their owners. Firstly, if you call no one answers. Even if you leave a voicemail, no one answers. When I finally got an appointment scheduled, I dropped my 50 lb Australian Cattle Dog off at 8 am and APS didn't call me until 6 pm to tell me she was ready. Keep in mind this is a short haired dog and all she needed was a bath and a nail trim. Even when I picked her up she was still wet. All that time before her bath, she was kept in a kennel and very likely had little to no water or time to go outside for the bathroom because she came home extremely dehydrated and couldn't wait to go bathroom once she exited the facility. In addition, when I tried to call to check on her status in the afternoon, no one answered the phone (shocker). I do want to say I had been using APS before, what seemed like some changes were made to management and personnel, and the service was MUCH BETTER before, but now its just absolute neglect. read more

Absolutely to not take your sweet pets here for anything. Just picked my dog up after a grooming. They have you pay and tip before your dog if brought out. The fur around his eyes was matted and "gooky". He had a hard spot of fur under his chin. Asked to speak to the manager. She was not on site during regular scheduled office hours. They did not provide a receipt for services rendered. I was trying to talk to the front counter personnel and couldn't hear her over the dogs barking, and one was even yelping! long story short, instead of going and checking on the dogs, she told me that I was insulting "her" staff, told me that she "was done with me", and told me to leave. I asked her when the manager would be in, and she told that she didn't know. She did assure me that she was going to tell the manager about me, not my concern for the dogs, but her anger with me as a customer. If they treat the people who pay, what are they doing to the animals behind the locked doors they don't allow owners to go through? Again, please protect your sweet pets. We brought our pup here for a swim once, and loved it so much that we booked a room for him to spend his Christmas there! He seems to have had a great time, and came back exceptionally clean after his grooming service that we added on for him. They even administered his medication for us while he was there. Unbelievable place. I have two house dogs and two yard dogs. All loved this place except Rocky the male house dog, but he doesn't like anyone touching him except family. I knew he would be a hit or miss but the other three were a hit. Thanks and I like the report card and neck scarf after the spa visit. I have taken my dog here many time and more recently she has been scared didn't want to go back there. Anywhere else she does not act this way. Her "report card" states she was happy and didn't mind the nails cut but they didn't even cut them. I paid for the service for her nails to be done and they weren't even touched. They looked awful and where so long that the underneath looked almost hollow. Had to take her to her vet and pay to get them done the right way. If a customer pays for a service it's expected to be done. Especially if not doing it can cause pain to the dog. read more

I had a horrible experience at Petco (US 377 Rayzor Ranch) and I was looking new groomers, this place is amazing! The people that work here are super sweet! I felt very at ease leaving them. I went to pick them up and the price it's super affordable for all the services they provide. My 2 dogs came out perfect and smelling like oatmeal and honey (which I love), they get report cards and a cute bandana. Ill definitely come back for grooming and maybe other services. The reason for my review is not to knock American Pet Spa and Resort in any way. They are top notch for boarding. I have no complaints there. My dogs seem to be happy whenever I pick them up. However, I have to say they are outrageously expensive. I just picked up my 2 small dogs after them being there for 1 week. $658.00! When I first started going there I was ok with spending a little extra for such a nice place. But now the nickel and diming (sp?) is out of control. Your dogs will not get any playtime outside of a walk to potty if you don't pay for a playtime each day. 15 minutes. That cost me $102 for my dogs to have 15 minutes of playtime out side once a day. Sorry, that is not ok with me. At these prices I will not be back. read more
