I am always greeted with smiles and encouragement and there are so many classes and fitness props to choose from that you can never get bored with the same routine, there are a plentitude of options everyday to keep everyone motivated and to help all of us to reach our goals! I say "us" rather than "me" because Pulse Gym is a team of members working together towards the same goal, to become the best that we can be while encouraging each other along the way to ultimate fitness! "Uniqueness" because this gym is very special due to the many services offered outside of fitness. I can workout, relax with a sauna, take a shower followed by a cup of tea or coffee then go to the hair/makeup salon and if needed, get a spray tan. Once finished with all the options available I can then change into a pretty dress and Ta-Dah! I'm all ready to return to work or to go out on the town for the evening :) Oh, and if you have children the child care gym is off the chart in being AWESOME! The owners are on the cutting edge of the industry in knowing how to combine the perfect place to get it all done with professionalism and class all without stress :) "Cleanliness" is the most important factor to me in choosing a gym and Pulse Gym and Studios surpasses all my expectations! Every single day that I arrive at the Pulse Gym or to their other locations I am greeted with a clean space, fresh air and cold filtered water. The class was a fast paced total body workout that included the treadmill, bike, tower and weights that could be modified to the various fitness levels of my bridesmaids. Kathy's coaching style was perfect for our group - she pushed us to work harder and motivate us, but was extremely personable. We had a great time, worked up a sweat and got to finish the class with mimosas. If I lived near the studio I would definitely attend fitness classes at elevate on a regular weekly basis!

Overall an awesome little spin studio!…read more A few positives: - The workouts are challenging, but they walk you through how to tailor it to your fitness level by modifying the resistance at the beginning of every class - The bikes and classes are both numerically based, which is awesome for making sure you stay on track and push yourself. What I mean by that is that both the RPMs and resistance are displayed as numbers on the bike. At the beginning of each song the instructor will tell you what RPM number to target, and what level of resistance you want to aim for - The instructors are awesome with people who are new to spin, new to the studio, or (like me) just really bad at setting up their bike. - Compared to a lot of other places, they're pretty affordable. If you follow them on social media they also run periodic sales where you can sometimes get a small pack of classes for $10-11 each The only real drawback is that sometimes the music is so loud it's hard to hear the instructor over it. That happens pretty rarely though!

I had never taken a formal boxing class before and it was very easy to walk in and feel relaxed in the class format. The instructors are great at keeping the class moving, and helping you out if you need it. Yes, there are people in the class that clearly are 'experienced' boxers, but I have yet to feel any intimidation or hesitation returning to the class. The format of stations and high interval training keeps the class moving and you basically pair up with someone on the same level as you. You don't even have a lot of time to even compare or think about what other groups are doing. Within minutes of the class your heart rate is up, and sweat is coming down. I've only been to about 4 classes now, and have become obsessed with this type of workout. The constant mix up of exercises keeps you on your toes, literally. I love the bag work and partner pad work; but you also get quite the ab workout and other areas of your body covered. The instructors keep you right on time, so you don't have to fear class going over or anything; and if you don't have your own gloves they do provide high quality gear. Everything is very clean and everyone I've had classes with are all extremely nice and welcoming. I'm an avid workout person, and have done things from running to crossfit to rowing, and this might be by far my favorite type of workout yet! I highly recommend this place! [also extremely affordable for the workout you're getting!] Only thing I wish they could change is offering more than the 6pm-7pm group class because working outside of Newport sometimes makes it hard to get there!
