Honestly there was nothing good about the experience.... First I notice is when I go to order my large soda is 5 dollars then she proceeds to tell me the refill is 2 dollars extra... Ok I have ordered my and pay... Decent food at a decent price. Cafeteria style service but to me that's no big deal. Reasonable prices. The place has a very friendly atmosphere and is good for family meals at a reasonable price. The steaks are decent. Just keep in mind this isn't a high-end steakhouse. But for what it is it's very good. They also have online ordering and curbside service. Today, My brother and I decided to go to America Steakhouse in Bridgeport because the Meridian branch closed down, and we sorely miss the food there. So, we went for a ride to Bridgeport, and all I can say is, "It was soooo worth it!" The chef cooked our steaks perfectly. Mine was medium rare, juicy and flavorful. It was one of the best porterhouse steaks I had in a long time. And the salad bar was great too. The blue cheese dressing was on the money, spot on delicious! Plus, the vegetables were fresh. America Steakhouse also serves up fries and garlic bread on the side. I still can't believe, in this day and age they're serving up all this great food for a mere $21.00. Moreover, the waitresses were attentive and pleasant, providing impeccable service, and the decor of the restaurant brings back memories of the 1980's, when life was so much simpler and relaxed. If they only had a couple of arcade machines that would have sealed the deal for me. Overall, the service is cafeteria style, but that's the beauty of the experience. It reminds you of the old days when Tad's Steakhouse was still in business... Nostalgia at its best! The staff and service at both the Norwalk and Bridgeport locations were very good also both locations were well kept and clean. The mains were properly cooked to order though under seasoned. It is ridiculous that the Sides and salad bars are no longer available, the Brand made its Reputation by giving choices and all you can eat at a reasonable price. I've been to both Meriden and Bridgeport in the past couple months. Bridgeport was busier than Meriden, but not by much,the evening I went. They are the only place I've been to that did not reopen the salad bar after covid. Maybe that was the reason Meriden has closed. read more

I started working there when I was 17 first job ever ..hired on the spot by Miss Isabel since 2016 now in 2020 I put in my flag at the age of 22 to start my new journey. Been coming to the Bridgeport location since I was a kid. Over 20 years. Never had an issue even when the salad bar closed during Covid. I was excited to see the salad bar reopened recently but that was short lived when I was told I could not wrap my left over salad to bring home. Even worse, I wasn't allowed to wrap my own left over food. I was told I was not allowed to take a container back to my table and food had to be brought up front to be wrapped by a staff member. How tacky! Fast forward a month or so and I'm literally sitting here at the steak house again and same experience! I talked to the mgr and he was happy to reiterate his tacky policy. I asked "so you'd rather throw my left over salad away than allow me to wrap it to take home?" He said yes, people go to the salad bar 3 and 4 times sometimes. So you penalize ALL customers and treat them like thieves because of a few abusers. This is extremely disappointing especially seeing that prices have increased as well. Horrible customer service . I placed an order through uber eats and didn't get what I ordered. I called the restaurant and they said it wasn't their problem, that I should call Uber and complain to them. Unbelievable. The steak was dry like concrete, the. My initial impression of this location was not good. The restaurant is located in a strip mall along US-1 but there is a bit of a problem with vagrants and panhandlers. The restaurant itself was pretty much the level of quality that I expect from this chain. It's by no means fine dining but the food is just fine and not expensive. They have a selection of steak, chicken, and seafood. You order meals by the number and most meals come with unlimited helpings of salad bar. We've been going to the Bridgeport location for DECADES! This is by far, hands down, the BEST restaurant in town! The salad bar is phenomenal! I remember when we were kids and there was a partition that separated the incoming line from the dining area which had a golden glass top to it. We used to see how much we've grown by seeing if we were tall enough to see out the glass top every time we visited. Although the interior has been remodeled since my younger years, the food is still fantastic. I always get the #12, but I've tasted other items from my family's plates.
