I placed a work order with my Home Warranty Co. who in turn contracted American Team. The gentleman came to my home assassesd my request and I was told he would get back to me at the latest that Mon. Here I am a week later and no report regarding the work I requested, meanwhile he took my check and asked if he could send a receipt to my account. I never received a receipt, never received a report. I spoke to my warranty Co. who stated they received a report stating everything was in working order (Good news beingf as though this is Electric were talkiny about). He couldhave verbalized that to me before leaving instead of having me wait for a report I never got and a receipt I never received. Communication and follow up is key in Customer Relations I would not use this company again. read more

Four times at our house to fix our furnace. Can't even believe the whole situation. They could not figure it out, then they said they would have to open up walls in the house to rewire, then say said oh wait, I can check something else. They just left, nothing made sense. Took a look after he left at the furnace and it looks hot-wired on our $20000 5 year old unit. Wires running across the panel and the panel cover on the floor. This is a don't call. read more

I contacted my home warranty because my heat is not going above 60 no matter what number I put the thermostat on. Also the vent is not pushing out as much air as it usually does. They came and left saying that the unit is fixed, but it is not. I explained to the tech when I noticed the heat not working properly I checked the heater the filter was out. It fell into the bottom of the unit. He checked everything else and said that the heater was working because it was on. He did not see if something was blocking the air from coming through or check if it now needed to be cleaned because of the filter coming out. He told me that because today was a cold day ( in the 20s) that the heat would not go up anymore. I explained to him that i have been in this house for 9 years and my heat always goes above 60 no matter what the temperature is outside. Just 3 weeks or so ago it was almost zero degrees outside and i didn't have any issues then. I explained all of this to him and also called American Team and explained it to them. They contacted my warranty company and said the job was completed when it is not. I now have to get a second opinion because these people do not know what they are doing. read more

Avoid at ALL cost!!!! The negative reviews are right on point. The people are rude, unresponsive and unprofessional. Service call takes 5 days to find a broken blower belt within 5 mins. Great right? Wrong. Been another week, no phone call to say part is in, no phone call to say that its not but when they expect it. read more

My home warranty company assigned American Team to fix my AC. I got my appointment within one week. Technician/HVAC people were nice but they didn't fix my AC even after 6 visits (almost one month). They were rush to leave and every time AC just didn't work 20 minutes after they left. Finally I gave up and turned to another local HVAC company that fixed it in 1 visit. I will not use American Team again and will request another contractor through my home warranty. read more

Do NOT use this company. Long story short, they were called out through my home warranty company. No sense of urgency with not having heat and a family with a infant and a toddler. They came by to service the request, say a part was needed which was going to take 3-5 days, come back and then say they needed another part but the part was on back order. After 16 days of no Heat, I called Ferro Fuel and they came out and fixed the issue same day! They had all the parts on their truck. read more

Our furnace stopped working on Thanksgiving morning. We have home warranty and after we created a claim they sent in American Team as the contractor. They were at our home withing 24 hrs. What has come after that its been a NIGHTMARE! Waited for over a week for the replacement part. A second part that was not working but not noticed the first time around and more waiting to get that one in. The first replacement part was again defective and have to be re-ordered but when asked if it could be rushed so we would not go on to week 3 without heat the receptionist replies "I dont know if that can be done. My supervisor is the one to know but he is out in a service call. I can have him call you" When asked when he would be back she responded "Its hard to know, he may not even come back to the office at all" And when asked if that meant I would not be talking to anyone until Monday because it was a Friday she said "Yeah, probably". It is unacceptable and down right wrong to NOT SHOW A SENSE OF URGENCY and UNDERSTANDING when a client has gone without heat for 2 weeks and going on 3 due to waiting around for parts! AS A COURTESY to the customer parts should be RUSHED after waiting for several days. It is winter and it is your job as an HVAC company to get people's heating back online as QUICKLY as possible!!! read more

Don't waste your time with these goons! I called my warranty company when there was an issue with the AC unit and they sent out American Team. When the 'technician number 1' arrived at my front door, he had no tools and said his van broke down and arrived in an economy car. I asked him how he was going to climb into the attic, he asked if I had a ladder and some tools that he could borrow to do the job. Upon climbing into the attic - he was there for no more than 5 minutes and said there was nothing he could do and insisted that I pay the $75 co-pay and he would send someone else out. No one ever came back and we had to call them again and again and finally the warranty company. American Team finally sent out two repair technicians and they did not fix the problem either. We finally had to call our own technician and seek reimbursement through the warranty company. WE NOW ALWAYS REFUSE THIS COMPANY AND HAVE THEM SEND OUT ANOTHER. YOU DO HAVE A CHOICE OF SERVICE COMPANIES WITH YOUR WARRANTY COMPANY! read more

Awful. Two (2) technicians came out and both were about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. They totally misdiagnosed the problem after three (3) visits and cost me $425 out of pocket which my home warranty system wouldn't cover. Of course, they admitted they didn't have the ability to fix my system AFTER cashing my check (Read: Stole my money) and the home warranty company had to send someone else out to fix the problem. Furthermore, they left a hole in my ceiling the size of my head and broke the drainage tube on the outside (which they insisted was broke when they got there, although I have pictures/video to the contrary). Long story short: inept technicians and crooked businessmen. Avoid. NOTE: If you have American Home Shield as your home warranty service in the Berks/Lehigh Valley, PA area, these will be the folks assigned to your job. If they mess it up, AHS will be useless, too. Overall, it took 3 months to fix the problem (a season!!!) over one of Pennsylvania's harshest winters. A colossal nightmare. read more

Through a home warranty service, I was assigned to American Team as my vendor to fix my air conditioning. They couldn't come out for a week (which I know now is in violation of their contract with my home warranty service). On Thursday, the day of the scheduled appointment, they called and canceled on me. We rescheduled for Saturday. On Saturday -- 2 hours after the scheduled appointment -- they called and canceled on me. We rescheduled for Sunday morning at 10am. I was promised by the tech that he would call at 9:45 on Sunday morning to confirm the appointment. He never called, he never showed up. I was unable to get through to the company or the tech that day. I called today (Monday) and they told me that the tech was in the hospital, they were sorry no one called me, and then they proceeded to announce that we would start over and they could come service my air conditioning unit... in a week. NNNOPE. After contacting my home warranty service to transfer the service to another vendor, I learned that American Team had actually reported to my warranty service that the tech HAD been at my home and he was "waiting on parts" to fix my unit. That would be fraud. Unbelievable. Avoid American Team at all costs, people. read more

I wish I could give a 0 star rating! Our HVAC unit was leaking in the back bedroom. Our home warranty company First American sent out American Team to fix the problem. The technician told us it was leaking due to the vent being metal (even I know a leak that big would not be caused due to condensation of the metal). I later found out that the problem was due to a cracked pipe. This is something the technician should have easily seen if he walked down in the attic to the room that had the leak. He told me he left the unit off and instructed me to do so. I later came home to a bubble in the ceiling and within the hour the ceiling had collapsed! The technician not only misdiagnosed the problem but left the unit on! American Team is not accepting any responsibility for this and the owner Bud brushed it off like it was nothing. DO NOT USE! They should take responsibility for the damage caused by their contractor and fix the damage. We had to go to Martin's Mechanical who correctly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. read more
