I got there right at opening time (8:00 a.m.), and despite being the first one on the list, they ignored that and started assisting people in the order they walked in. The entire purpose of checking in early or joining the waitlist is to be seen in order--but here it's meaningless. They make you go through the process of logging in and checking in, but it doesn't count for anything. Total waste of time and very frustrating.

When I arrived, they had everything set up for the procedure, took great care of the cut on my leg - so I was in and out within 30 minutes. They also gave me a prescription and directions on how to take care of the wound afterwards. Great staff, clean environment, accepts wide variety of insurance. Definitely recommend!

It's been a long time since I went to an ER other than Kaiser…read more Checking into Mount Sinai was very smooth. I handed over my ID and Kaiser card and gave my information and they were able to easily bill my insurance so I didn't have to handle it after the fact. After some wait my vitals were checked, then I was sent back to the lobby and after a bit more of a wait, I was moved into a shared room. In total my visit was about three hours and I was able to speak to the doctor who ordered my medication to the closest pharmacy and had a first dose ready for me prior to my leaving. When I let them know I hadn't eaten recently they also provided a sandwich and crackers to take with the medication. I was texted semi-regularly with the name of my nurse, my doctor, my room, and when I was discharged - all things Kaiser doesn't do that I appreciated. My visit fee was the same as it is with Kaiser and because they supplied the first dose I was able to head home and go to sleep, picking up my medication the next day. All in all, I appreciated how Mount Sinai made the experience smooth for me and it's nice knowing I have an ER I can go to when I'm in the area.

My brother-in- law was visiting us for the holiday and was having some urinary symptoms like…read morefrequency, burning and discoloration. As a RN, I suggested that he go to an urgent care. Once there he requested to be seen by a physician. He was never told that there wasn't one on duty, and the staff insisted that he would be seen by one. Instead he was seen by NP who was rude and very short with her comments. Several times he had asked when the doctor will see him and his request was blown off. After a urinalysis was done, he was advised to go to the hospital because the NP would not write or was not comfortable writing a prescription for antibiotics. He had to pay upfront $180.00 thinking he would be seen by a physician. The staff did not provide clear communication about why a physician was unavailable and he left feeling frustrated and underserved. I hope the clinic can improve its patient experience and ensure that commitments to see a doctor are honored. Also the clinic should have a conversation with that rude NP. I will never recommend that place to a family member or friend ever again!

This week, however, I had an ear infection that needed in person attention. MD Now is "in network" and available for the low, low /s/ co-pay of $75. I was truly miserable, so off I went. I tried to do the on line check in to "save" time but lo and behold... they had an appointment available immediately, so they had called my name while I was still en route to their location. Not a problem, there was only 1 person in front of me when I arrived. Wait time - less than 10 minutes. I met with both a doctor and a nurse, got diagnosed, got an ear lavage (DO NOT try that at home, folks!) and got a prescription for antibiotics and ear drops. Total round trip time, including stopping at CVS to pick up the meds, was 2 hours. I had been dizzy, ill and without hearing in one ear for a week. A quick trip here and all of my problems were solved! I felt about 10 pounds lighter exiting this place (that could have been the weight of all of the gunk they blasted out of my ear!). The only negative was the front desk staff was a little brusque, especially considering that most customers are not going to be operating at full capacity, but honestly, most of the interaction I had was with the medical personnel, who were proficient and caring.
