Very hardy, traditional American breakfast menu. Service was friendly but a little erratic. We had a large table - 10 people - and the first people to get served were nearly done with their meal before the last ones got served. The inside was clean and simple - exactly what you'd expect a "Waffle House" to look like. However the food was delicious, the waffles were light, the eggs cooked perfectly, and we all left with full bellies and a smile on our faces. read more

My first time coming here and I'll definitely be back. Retro old school diner and they capture the vibe nicely. There's parking in the back and there are two entrances as well. The furniture and the pics all add to the retro feel and they have tables and booths. The menu has breakfast, lunch and dinner options and you can order anything on the menu at anytime. I had breakfast even though it was evening. The pancakes and waffles were good. So was their chocolate milkshake. Food came out quickly and our server was very cool. I really hate to do this as this was one of my favorite breakfast places. I understand all about inflation and cost of doing business today....but, $27.86 is a bit ridiculous for an omelette and a coffee. Not only that but the bill had an additional $3.00 added on top with no explanation. It was taken off the bill. Later on, I noticed $1.11 " admin fee" added to my debit card charge. Our son was upset we came here first before going to get ice cream so he was being super dramatic but no one seemed to mind his laying on the floor lol. Pancakes came out and he was up in the booth. We dined in for breakfast for the first time today and we were greeted and seated quickly. Upon walking in you could feel the hometown vibe of this restaurant. The inside is decorated with classic American paintings, red booths and a big American flag over the front door. I had the French toast with bananas and Nutella, which was absolutely delicious. I've only ever had dry French toast at diners but this was anything but dry. It was perfect. Our table also ordered a waffle with bacon and eggs. The eggs were cooked just right and the bacon was crispy. Overall, this breakfast spot was a hit not only for the good food and Americana decor, but the service was just above and beyond. Our server was great and kept offering coffee when we got low, we were really taken care of. I'm the kind of person who gets jealous when I see the owner of a diner chatting it up with the regulars. What do they have that I don't? Consistency, I guess. My husband has been coming here from years and had been dying to go back since we moved to Seaford. We finally went and I was super impressed with the cleanliness and commitment to social distancing during the Covid era. The waitress was a pleasure and the food was omg delish! Like, SO delish. Cut to- I spy the owner hamming it up with some guests. Everyone was laughing at his jokes and genuinely having a great time. Cue my jealousy. But then... just as we're about to leave... the owner notices us and strikes up a conversation (I don't even remember now what it was about. I was just on such a high from finally being recognized). It dawned on me that the patrons he was previously chatting with were probably not even "regulars". The owner is just so welcoming and nice to everyone that he makes you feel like you belong. Great food, quintessential diner ambiance, and a strong focus on genuine hospitality is what makes this place amazing. If you haven't gone, go! We will be back. read more

When we couldn't get in anywhere else we decided to try American Waffle House! Old-school looking diner-type setup. Cashier to pay on the way out, old looking menus, retro looking booths. As we were being seated I saw a sign for Oreo waffles. On Yelp I saw a review of the funky hashbrowns. I was immediately sold on both. It took a bit for our waitress to come to us but we let that slide since she was incredibly sweet. The Oreo waffle was amazing and I ate the whole thing. No fancy syrups from what I saw. Plain ol' maple on the table and that's what you get. We split the funky hashbrowns which were potatoes, onions, ham, and cheese. It wasn't very appetizing by the looks of it but it tasted incredible. Somehow all the flavors come together and holy moly it was good. We were bummed we were too full to finish it. My SO had the french toast which he said was delicious. It came with eggs and sausage, all of which he said were very good. Prices are fair. The portion can range from medium to large but no doubt you'll leave full. They have a full lunch/dinner menu too but I have a feeling this is a place people go when they want breakfast at any time of day (it is served all-day, after all). I was super excited to bring my wife and son to this small luncheonette style restaurant. I had come once before with my son and it was exceptional. This time, however, was quite different. I am all about supporting small business and love quaint spots. To start, my pregnant wife needed the bathroom and come to find, there was no toilet paper or any paper in the bathroom. She ordered the egg sandwich and specified that she cannot have any runny eggs in the dish since she is pregnant. We later found out, after being served runny eggs, that she was charged extra for her specific cook-type on the egg, plus an extra egg that was never requested. My son got the chocolate chip pancakes which the first-time around came with a small side of whipped cream. When we asked for that same small side, we received a decent portion, but were charged $3 for some whipped cream. It was my son's birthday and the waitress did bring my son a small ice cream with candle, that was nice...but all of these little disappointments unfortunately took over. Add a credit card fee for the cherry on top. $50 before tip for breakfast with an egg sandwich, a kids meal, and an omelette. read more

The food was very good and the atmosphere had a really wonderful old school diner feel. I noticed on my check that the waitress had charged me 13.99 for my meal but 12.99 for my fiance. When i tried to bring up the difference in price for the same meal to the old lady at the register she said well you added whipped cream to yours. I tried to inform her that there already was an additional charge on the receipt for the whipped cream and said the two meals should be the same price. She just didnt seem to wrap her head around it and then looked and talked us as if we were stupid and kept insisting one was more expensive because of the additional whip cream. At that point i gave her an incredulous smile and said never mind just charge me for the bill as is. You see, i was bringing to her attention that our waitress had undercharged us for his meal by a dollar. If you want to disrespect your customers making them feel stupid because you insist your correct, then your business just lost money. Just went for the first time yesterday morning with the fam. Street parking right in front and no line to get in. Super quick service, like so fast! Our waitress was extremely sweet and also very attentive. We didn't get waffles (definitely next time) but the pancakes, egg sandwich, and fresh fruit were all excellent! We were in and out and with a toddler that's definitely appreciated. She even brought his cereal out first to get him started. Can't wait to go back! read more

Ok ok another biased review by yours truly. This place used to be on Sunrise Hwy in Massapequa by White Castles waaay back in the day. It closed and I was devastated! Nowhere else served Chicken & Waffles at that time let alone grits & pecan waffles. This was unheard of at the time. My husband had the Belgium Waffle Special and throughly enjoyed it. He said the sausage had a great flavor. He liked that the chocolate chips and pecans were even throughout the whole waffle. I had a corned beef & cheese omelet and the serving was huge! I ordered a diet coke and the server (only one) gave me a regular, trying to pass it off as diet. I ordered egg white omelet and probably got regular eggs. He said they were egg whites, so maybe they were egg beaters. Tasted good. Got the bill and wasn't charged extra for eggs whites, so he probably never wrote egg whites.
