Nick and his team did an amazing job not only tuning our old (109 year old) windows but also replacing dated 80s style windows to match the old ones. Overall, they build 10 windows and tuned 11. Not only did they strive for excellence in their work, Nick does more than what's required of him by recommending what could make things look better. After the work, I had some issues with 2 windows that didn't look right and he brought back his team to fix the problem. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to tune old windows, or build period appropriate ones as they try to restore their homes.

The windows are great, but they didn't clean up the outside of the glass when they were done.

Nick and his crew replaced old, cracked windows and repaired old rope sash and pulley mechanisms in my 1906 Craftsman house. Overall, the work was excellent and he showed an understanding for working with an old home and keeping things compatible with the original look. Once I got slotted into his busy schedule, everything proceeded smoothly. I'm taking off a star because at the end, the new windows were all smudged up on the outside. I asked if they were going to clean off the new windows, and he said no. He knew I was planning to repaint, and he said the house painters would clean up the windows. I thought that was odd, leaving smudged up new windows marring the look of their otherwise good work. (The windows in question are high up or otherwise hard for me to reach, otherwise I'd wash them myself.) It was ten months until we were ready to paint. The house painter laughed when I mentioned that the window installers said his crew should clean those new windows while they were at it. I think he was kind of insulted -- they're painters, not window cleaners, after all. The painters also noticed that one of our new windows was missing the glazing, something no one noticed when Nick's crew wrapped things up. So, I do recommend American Window Restoration, but with reservations. If I could go back, I'd insist that they clean up the nice brand new windows that they installed, and have a more careful walk-through at the end.

If you're patient and work around Nick's availability, the wait will be worth it. He and his crew do something that is almost unheard of. They actually build new windows on site from scratch. This alone is worth every penny since you can let the professionals measure to exact specifications and install and adjust accordingly. I'm starting a new kitchen remodel and Nick installed two new double hung windows to replace ones previously removed by previous owners. He also built three new casement windows in an adjoining room. I read one review that seemed to complain about the new glass being all smeared. Since the window glass gets glazed, it's important to let it cure for two weeks before you even worry about wiping the glass down and disturbing the fresh glaze that has still not fully cured. The wiping and blading off the overglaze is a post install task that should be done much later, so I wouldn't penalize their rating just for that as another reviewer did. All in all, Nick knows his stuff and you'll be in good hands if you are patient enough to wait a bit until he fits you into his schedule.

Don't need any plastic windows here!

I own a 1920's spanish apartment building where some of the windows were are at a point where they needed to be replaced - they were beyond repair and I wanted to replace them with similar windows in the original style. I could have replaced with aluminum or plastic but I really like to keep things original. I spent quite a bit of time trying to find somebody who could replicate the original windows and finally came across Nick at American Window Restoration. Once I gave Nick the go-ahead he was able to make entirely new windows and fit them within a week. Once painted they will look perfect and will have retained the character of the building. Yes, it would probably have been cheaper to order new windows from Home Depot, but it would have cheapened the building and I would forever have been annoyed by the look!

Can you remove windows for furniture delivery?

I’m sorry that is not a service we offer

My window is leaking from the two top sides during the rain. I have tried dealing with new caulking but no luck on repairing the issue and have even tried using flex tape to seal the issue. Would you guys be able to fix this issue and how soon?

I’d have to see the type of windows and see what’s going on. Can you FaceTime me and show me the window?

I'm looking for a double pane window to match our others sized at about 47 x 56". a side slider, left to right the frame is ready to go and we'd like it installed as soon as possible? I'm in Signal Hill

That’s not something we would come out for. I’d suggest broadway glass or Paul’s glass

Can you replace curved plastic sunroom windows, probably from the 1980s?

Sorry I think your gonna be looking for a glass shop. We normally suggest searching on maps for glass and mirror to find someone close to you

How long does he take to respond by email?

We try to respond to emails ASAP. I’m on jobs working most the time but always try to check my email as much as possible. I’m looking here through my email and don’t see anything is there an email address I should be looking for?

We met with Mike (the owner) at his showroom who went through every option and provided clear details for the products we had to choose as well as the process from start to finish. We went with Mike's product recommdation, Anlin Windows, based on those details which was clearly the right choice. Mitch (the ops manager/job forman) came to our home at the appointed time, took the measurements and advised what we needed to do to assist in the installation process which was basically moving any large objects away from the windows, both inside and out. In fact, we were contacted every step of the way from the owners, office staff and field staff and advised of the progress of our order. We were notified of the windows arrival at thier warehouse 6 weeks later and set up an installation date. JC and Willy arrived on time and got started right away after thanking me for clearing thier work areas as thoroughly as I did after the intial walk through. They did an amazing job. They were courteous, clean, respectul, and completely professional in every way. They had every window plus a very large slider installed before the end of the day and once again complimented and thanked me making their work areas accessible and easy to work in. They also left every area they worked in cleaned up as if they were never there. A rarety these days! JC then provided me with some tips specfic to any potential screen door squeeks and advised me to apply something on the screen to prevent any accicdents in the form of me or anyone else walking through that screen. I used a couple of thin strips of duct tape. The windows/screens are obviously new and almost transparent. Especially after living with the previous extruded metal OG windows for as long as we did. He showed me the features of each window and door, explained how the locks worked on each and answered any questions I had. There was minor 1 hiccup. During the unpacking process of the windows, JC pointed out to me that 1 of windows would not be able to be installed as it arrived broken. Not the window itself but the top right corner of the exterior vinyl overlap. The damage was not seen at the warehouse as it was under the protective card board/plastic and must have happened during the shipping process from the factory. I know from experience these things happen and it is how they are reacted to that seperates the good companies from the bad. OCWE took care of it without hesitation and insisted I deduct $500 from the intial installation balance until the replacment was installed and the job completely finished. The replacement was rush ordered. I was told it would take 2 weeks to get it. I got a call extactly 2 weeks later and we set up the installation appointment. The final window was just installed in under 30 minutes by JC and Willy as I had requested they come back for the aformentioned reasons. My wife and I could not be more pleased and satisfied with the choices we made specific to the company, product, pricing and professionalism of every team, top down from sales, ops and installation. We would do it again in a heartbeat! I highly recommend OCWE for window/slider upgrades in every way and when you do, make sure you specifically request JC and Willy to install them. You will not be sorry!

We had our windows replaced by LMR Windows and Glass Doors last week…read more I contacted several window companies in the area and had 7 bids for the project. As many homeowners will realize, there are a few things to consider when replacing windows. Some companies will take their measurements and give an old fashioned sales pitch. Luis at LMR Windows is straightforward and earnest with his estimate, I did not feel pressured by him and could tell that he is glad to help prospective customers. After a couple of phone conversations and 2 visits to my home to review the project/measure the windows, I settled on Luis' bid. He offered fair pricing (competitive when compared against other companies in the area). Throughout the process, Luis provided periodic updates on the status of the window order and once the window manufacture completion date was confirmed, he offered quick availability for installation. We had a total of 16 units installed at our home, including 2 sliding doors. Luis works with his son, Sebastian, who is not only skilled at what he does - but also very polite and respective of other peoples' home. The guys completed the job in 2 days and cleaned up at the end of each day. I am pleased with the quality of work - the windows have been sealed nicely and professionally. I have referred Luis and Sebastian to family already. I will gladly work with LMR Windows again in the future! Some photos of the finished windows are included in this review for anyone wondering how the final product looks.

Once the job got started he then realized he didn't put in the estimate anything for the electrical which included moving a outdoor light, 2 plugs and 1 light switch because we were widening our sliding door which were clearly there when he came to my house to get a quote we ended up hiring someone else to do the electrical work. Once I paid the balance I realized the bottom of the sliding door was unfinished. I texted him thinking it would not be a problem and they would come and fix it but nope his response for me to look at the quote to see if stucco work was included. I assumed he would leave the sliding door how it look before and all the stucco he would need to break to put in the door he would fix. Just make sure everything is included in his quote. Lesson learned! To respond to the owners comment: We were not looking for cheap work the quote was $10,000 for 2 sliding doors which we accepted and did not negotiate or ask for discount . The only expectation was for you leave our house the way you found it. You did not do free stucco work! You had to break stucco to get the sliding door in and you fixed it on one of the doors as you should. You said it was a drip edge there before it is not a foundation issue. We only expected you to leave the door looking finished. I don't think that is too much to ask for. Follow up to the 2nd response: Wow! The lies and your response only shows how unprofessional you really are. None of that happened I never asked for a discount I went with the price you gave and you said you offered a 10% discount if I signed the quote the same which I am sure you tell everyone so your customers will know the truth, you never told me about the gap, and my husband does not do floors, we didn't ask for free stuff, and by giving my address out don't you think other customers would not be happy with you doing that but I guess it shows your true character. Also, I assumed the stucco you broke would be something you fixed. I figured that was an obvious. Very unprofessional Luis! Now I am wondering if the way you react to a reviews is the reason why there are only good review?!?!?!

I received confirmations and ETAs for each portion of the job. Day of installation- Ezekiel and Hugo arrived on time.
