I ate here twice, one day for a light dinner in the bar and another in the main restaurant. The ambiance is very pleasant, perhaps call it farmhouse chic with a sophisticated yet cozy feeling as though you're eating at someone's house. It's contemporary and the furnishings are quite comfortable. It's the type of place you can settle in and have a casual meal without feeling rushed. Prices are high yet the quality is excellent. For the first evening at the bar we settled into a high top table. You can sit at the bar, lounge type seating or outdoors on a pleasantly shaded patio. They had an expanded bar bites menu as the main restaurant is closed on Wednesdays... most of it quite enticing. We opted for cocktails to start and I chose a specialty Date Maple Old Fashioned. It was really good with a large ice ball to chill it. For bar bites we shared the pork belly sandwiches (small, delicious but messy to eat), the sausage skewers (amazing!) and crab cups (refreshingly light and easy to eat). After cocktails we had glasses of a light white wine, made with Santorini Greek grapes. For the next meal in the dining room the place was a buzz with activity but conversation was easy without a lot of excessive noise. It's intimate and the room is quite pleasant for a gourmet meal. We started with cocktails (same Old Fashioned) and shared the grilled Brussels Sprouts which were plentiful and ever so delicious. They were slightly over grilled for my taste yet it didn't distract from me enjoying them. We got bread which was a baguette with butter and the consistency perfect for a French style loaf. For my entree I debated between the scallops and the pork chop and went with the chop. I was quite pleased as the chop came in thick slices and drizzled with a tarragon mustard reduction sauce. It was amazing, tender, juicy and at 22oz I couldn't finish it all. It came with a tasty apple sauce and grilled seared cabbage. Absolutely delicious. Ed, celebrating a birthday, had steak which came with a huge bowl of mashed potatoes which I tasted. Oh my gosh, the creamiest potatoes ever! For dessert we shared the cheese plate, a really great way to end the meal, with glasses of a twany port. All of the cheeses from a brie to a hard cheese were top quality. It's like a fucken guessing game with this place man I swear. Walked in to what we presumed was the front of the restaurant. Walked in and just kinda stood there looking at the bar. After a moment of awkwardness the hostess asked if we had a reservation and we said "Yes at 6:00". We were then promptly seated. Our waitress was terrific, I forget her name but she had tattoos on her arms. Wonderful gal. The spicy sausage appetizer was the best part of the meal then it went to shit. The filet was a BEAUTIFUL piece of meat cooked to an absolutely prefect medium rare. However there was no flavor. Believe me when I say it must've had four grains of salt and that was it. No pepper no fucken nothin. Some poor Mignon cow lost his life for this bullshit. Like it was just a piece of meat with no seasoning. I almost asked for some A-1 just to choke it down. The mashed potatoes or excuse me "potato fucken purée" was average at best. Wife found her Salmon to be mid. For dessert we took the chocolate cake thing, and the strawberry cheesecake to go. The chocolate cake was like a 7/10 and the cheesecake was just like three separate piles of fuckery. Like the ingredients were just piled in the box waiting for assembly. It was the weirdest shit I've ever seen in my life. I should've taken a picture of it. Oh yeah the asshole piña colada wasn't blended it was just on the rocks with a nice paper fucken straw to slowly add some smoked wood flavor to my adult beverage. For $200 (plus tip mind you) this meal should've knocked my fucken socks off. Good lord this place needs some SERIOUS help. I can tell that the cooks know what they're doing but fuck man season the damn food. So in closing 1)season the food 2)ditch the paper straws 3)and blend the fucken drinks Oh I forgot to mention "ambiance". We walked around the area outside of the restaurant and it's a very pleasant experience. The weather was excellent for sitting outside. The service was above and beyond. The food was ok, its was good , it was very expensive, I think I expected more from the flavors. We started with lemonade, it was delicious! The bread was ok , really hard crust with a soft inside, I would have appreciated some oil and vinegar for the bread. For an appetizer we ordered an octopus salad , the octopus was good, not over the top . We also ordered a dozen oysters they were underwhelming, not sure what was on them but I asked for nothing on them . The greens were slightly wilting, it was ok . I ordered the bay scallops they were good , the purée that came with it was ok. We also ordered the smashed potatoes, they were underwhelming but ok . My Neice ordered a salad and it seemed just ok , she liked it , not super crisp. She also ordered fries , they were good . Over all our experience was just ok , it must be a status thing when you say you went to the Americana House , it was just ok and at 125.00 per person we expected higher quality. I'm giving 2 stars for the great server we had. Zero stars for the food. We ordered the crab tartlets as a starter... tasted like canned crab meat with guacamole and diced tomatoes. The flat iron steak was marinated in meat tenderizer liquid which has a very distinct taste and side effects. The sauce it came with was bitter and, sadly, disgusting! We have been having indigestion from this all night. Didn't even finish it. The pork chop was very dry and extremely salty. Flavor was decent. The potato puree had a nice flavor and texture, but incredibly salty. I love salty potatoes, but this was over the top. The Verde rice that came with the steak was under cooked and crunchy. We really enjoyed when it used to be Towne House. Unfortunately, won't be going back for food there anymore. read more

I had never been to a home they converted into a restaurant. Honestly I always thought those existed by beaches and never in Lodi. As a Bay Area native, I've always thought Central Valley has nothing to offer but extremely hot days in summer. What a surprise indeed, the food was delicious the ambiance seemed quite relaxed and very beautiful. Our waitress was awesome and I'm sorry I did not catch her name. The restaurant is placed in a very picturesque area. We congratulated a young couple who were on their way to celebrate their wedding day as we were on our way out. They looked absolutely lovely! Beautiful Restaurant, Terrible Food (save your money) I really wanted to love Americana House. This place has so much potential. The ambiance is beautiful, the grounds, the service was fantastic, and the drinks and bread were genuinely great. Unfortunately, the food was so bad that it completely overshadowed everything else. I want to start with the positives because there actually were quite a few. I started with the Coco Loco mocktail, and it was delicious. It was well made and gave me high hopes for the meal. The fresh-baked bolillo/baguette-style bread with butter and flaky salt came out next, and honestly... that was the best thing I ate all night. I know it's bread, but that bread was a solid 5/5. The service was also five stars. Our server was attentive, welcoming, and made us feel taken care of throughout the entire meal. The ambiance is beautiful as well. This restaurant has the setting, atmosphere, and hospitality to potentially be one of the "best" restaurants in Lodi. Then the food came. We opted for the Neighborhood Night featuring Oak Farm Vineyards for $50 per person, and honestly, what a waste of $50. For the first course, I chose the glazed Thai meatball. I am NOT a picky eater, but this was one of the worst meatballs I have ever had. The beef tasted like it had been boiled, with virtually no seasoning. It was essentially a ball of unseasoned ground beef covered in Honest Acres sweet chili sauce, topped with roasted peanuts and scallions. On paper, the ingredients sound good. In reality, they did not work together at all. It reminded me of taking unseasoned ground beef and smothering it in Subway's sweet onion sauce. The peanuts somehow made it worse. At this point I thought, Okay... maybe the main course will redeem this. It did not. We also ordered the Dungeness crab tartlets, Kumiai oysters, and surf & turf skewers. The crab tartlets were another disappointment. Again, very little flavor, way too much sauce, and the sauce almost tasted like mayonnaise. Dungeness crab deserves better than that. The Kumiai oysters were just okay. Nothing offensive, but nothing memorable either. The surf & turf skewer actually had potential: grilled shallot, steak, shrimp, and chipotle aioli. But once again... NO SEASONING. Not even a sprinkle of salt and pepper. The steak, shrimp, and shallot all tasted like nothing. At this point I genuinely started wondering, does anyone taste these dishes before they leave the kitchen? And if the strategy is to use sauces to provide the flavor for otherwise unseasoned ingredients, the sauces need to actually complement the food. Unfortunately, the chipotle aioli didn't work with the skewer either. Then came the two-sheet lasagna with beef bolognese, béchamel, and aged Parmesan. Another disappointment. It was essentially two large sheets of lasagna with the same unseasoned ground beef I had already experienced earlier in the meal. The sauce on top wasn't good, and then the aged Parmesan made the entire dish overwhelmingly salty. The combination was just not enjoyable to me. I genuinely would never serve a dish like this. The desserts were also lackluster, and by this point I had completely lost faith in the menu. The biggest problem for me was that the entire menu felt disconnected and lacked cohesion. Dish after dish had either virtually no seasoning, sauces that didn't complement the ingredients, or flavors that simply didn't work together. I know Americana House currently has a 4.1 rating, and honestly, after eating there, I was confused. This is actually my first Yelp review, and I felt compelled to write it because I was genuinely upset not because of the service, but because my husband spent around $230 on a meal that, in my opinion, was nowhere near the quality we paid for. The food was definitely memorable... just not for the right reasons. And that's the frustrating part: Americana House has everything else going for it. Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Drinks: 5/5 Bread: 5/5 Food: 0/5 This could honestly be one of the best restaurants in Lodi if the food were as good as the service, drinks, and atmosphere. The potential is absolutely there. But the food needs a serious overhaul! Because right now, the food is nowhere near the level of the restaurant itself. Despite a rocky start from seating us outdoors by ourselves on a cool dark night, despite our reservation made weeks in advance was for indoor seating; to the manager eventually coming to the rescue and apologizing for the error and accommodating us indoor with a complimentary amuse bouche and glass of sparkling wine, I really did enjoy Americana House as probably one of the best restaurant in Lodi. With their collaboration with Michelin star chef Charlie Palmer, Americana House delivers high quality food in a charming and modern ambience. The hamachi crudo appetizer melted in your mouth. The Liberty duck breast and leg confit was nicely plated, prepared well and delicious in taste. The apple crisp was good but nothing special. The dessert menu definitely needs some tweaking. As mentioned after the rocky start, service turned exceptional. The manager made sure we were taken care of and our server was a delight. She was very knowledgeable on her wines and we enjoyed a bottle of a special old vine zinfandel that we had never tried before. The bar had live music with a musician with an acoustic guitar so it was not too loud to disturb the diners. Parking was relatively easy as part of the Appellation Wine and Roses Resort. Overall, I still gives Americana House high marks and definitely worth the splurge for that special occasion in Lodi. read more

I heard it was newly renovated and rebranded! I definitely like the vibes and they have live music on Saturdays! We ordered chicken pate, stone fruit panzanella, side of fries, CRESTE DI GALLO POMODORO, and the AGGHIOTTA. They also served complimentary bread and o was I stuffed! The stone fruit panzanella was really good and highly recommend this salad! The server was so thoughtful that she had the salad split into two plates for my husband and I so we don't have to reach over to share the salad. CRESTE DI GALLO POMODORO is also a new item added to the menu and it is a must try! The pasta is made in house and it is so flavorful! I will definitely order this again next time I visit! We sat in a shaded porch area just off the indoor dining room, which struck a nice balance--comfortable, relaxed, and still connected to the outdoor atmosphere. With live music playing nearby, it added to the overall setting. We started with the chicken croquettes--crispy and a strong opener. Drinks were mixed: I didn't care for the strawberry whiskey sour, but the staff handled it well and replaced it with a classic version that was much better. My partner's mimosa, topped with a dried pear, was a nice touch. For mains, the shakshuka was excellent. My mushroom-based eggs Benedict with truffle sauce was just okay--interesting, but not something I'd go out of my way to order again. This was my first time here for dinner. My first visit was for brunch a few weeks ago and enjoyed it so much, I decided to make a reservation for today when New York friends came to visit. We had Room 2 and Tonya as our waitress! We all agreed that she was lovely and were impressed with her energy when she came to greet us and throughout our meal. She was instrumental in us having such a good time. She made recommendations and answered all our questions about your menu for food and cocktails! We had the brussel sprouts, pork belly biscuits, sausage skewers and octopus salad for shareables. Then our entrees were 2 orders of scallops, salmon, duck and short ribs plus smashed potatoes, mushrooms and spinach. To end the meal, we tried the double chocolate cake, hazelnut affogato and hazelnut ice cream. EVERYTHING was fantastic - I usually have one thing to complain about but not tonight! If I had to it would be that I was stuffed at the end and couldn't eat more. Room 2 was a good vibe for us and was very quaint. It gave us the space to visit and enjoy like we were at home in our own dining room. We were able to hear the live music playing and it didn't overpower the acoustics of our room. If you haven't tried it, it's a must and I hope you have a similar if not same experience as we did. My New Yorkers absolutely loved my choice for dinner!!!! This was a great experience! I came with a groups of friends who've been here before and the experience was spectacular! We started at the bar for a round of drinks before our reservation and the bar tenders were so nice and very talented. We also got a sneak peak (well, sneak taste?) of their featured drink, a tiramisu coffee espresso, which was delicious! It had almost no flavor, and I had to add a lot of salt just to bring something out of it. Overall, I'm not sure if I'd return with the current menu, but I'm hoping it improves by spring. Arrived early so we went to lounge, ordered a drink. The table wasn't cleaned, didn't get greeted until 10 min after sitting down. A woman came in well after us and got her drink order and served before us. By this time we checked in to our table and asked them to bring the drinks to us. We got water right away but the server came around after 15-20 min to give us our drinks and we put in order for the pork belly biscuits and she was supposed to bring bread. The table behind us got seated way after us got their bread right away, we were still waiting. Biscuits came, bread dark brown on top, over cooked. Whatever sauce they used was overpowering that's all you tasted was a mayo consistency so not good. We got our bread way after, that came out hot but it was also over cooked. The bottom was near burnt. I asked server for a softer bread bc that was way too hard, she goes and brings us cold sourdough that was not good. I asked the lady refilling water to inform the the waitress that we wanted the same bread they started with just not overcooked, we never got it. Food came, I ordered the $125 ribeye and potatoes and my husband ordered the scallops. He said his food was good but was not filling as a main course, only came with 3 scallops & 3 pieces of cauliflower. My ribeye came out cut in literal squares about 2-3 inches thick, the presentation was awful. Do not cut my steak before serving. It wasn't even warm when I got it. The steak knife sucked, and the way it was pre cut for me made it even harder to cut the steak. I cooked a better tomahawk this past weekend than what I had at this restaurant. Not worth the money. A lady came out and asked how everything was tasting and I responded okay and she asked if the steak wasn't cooked to my liking, which the cook was fine just was an okay dish. for apps we got the chia seed parfaits, oysters, and spicy italian sausage skewers. the chia seed parfait would have been so good if it didn't have warm apple slices in it. it had apples that were warm and soft and cooked in cinnamon. like apple pie filling. i don't like cooked fruit or warm fruit so i handed mine off for someone else to finish, but the bites without the warm apple were yummy. my mom really really liked the parfait. the oysters were great. andy usually isn't an oyster fan, but he devoured these. they came with a citrus mignonette and it was delicious. very lemony and sour in a great way. the sausage also had a great flavor. sometimes sausage texture can be weird and make me uncomfortable, but i really enjoyed these. it came with a sun-dried tomato sauce which i wasn't the biggest fan of. it was just alright. the meat was crispy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside. my mom and i both got chilaquiles. i got mine with over easy eggs but they came out and the yolk was fully cooked. my mom got hers with scrambled. my mom liked them but she prefers green chilaquiles so they didn't wow her. i love both red and green chilaquiles and i really liked these. they didn't taste at all like your typical chilaquiles. despite that, i still really enjoyed them. they had a completely unique flavor probably due to the sauce being a beet mole. they look dry in the pictures but they were actually perfectly sauced and not dry at all. my dad and andy both got steak and eggs. the steak comes covered in a peppercorn sauce. the eggs were kinda of plain and could have used more salt and pepper. the steak was good and my dad specifically really enjoyed his. andy think he could've made it at home and it would have tasted just as good. okay. the potatoes were good. nice and soft, but again, could have used a little bit more seasoning. for the baby we got chicken tenders and fruit. the chicken was actually really good and had a unique breading that most chicken tenders don't have. tasted homemade rather then from frozen. to drink, i got a paloma and my mom got a NA cocktail. i think it was a mango tango. my moms was very good and refreshing. mine was good too, but tasted a little watered down, not the best paloma i've ever had. the service was very slow i can't lie. i don't mind waiting long for food because i appreciate food being made fresh, but even before we ordered, it took so long for our waiter to come and take our order. it was not very busy at all so it just seemed like service is really slow. read more

We came back for dinner earlier this year on a weeknight midweek. Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff from the moment of arrival until our departure. The team really makes you feel welcome like you're returning home! Thank You! :0) Well, even though we love the staff and the ambiance, unfortunately, this time, our dinner wasn't very tasty or satisfying. We were really disappointed with the food even though the dish presentations were lovely. We started with the Milk Bread, Sweetbread and Mount Tam Brie Beet Salad Appetizers. For whatever reason, the flavor combinations didn't pair well for each of the appetizers. As entrees to share for 3 people, we ordered the Black Cod and the 20oz American Ribeye. The fish was overcooked and horribly dry so it lacked flavor entirely. Usually Black Cod is so tender, tasty and delightful, but not this dish. It was really sad because I love Black Cod and we could barely eat this. Luckily the Black Cod came with a very nice sized, tasty dish of Brussels Sprouts. We were impressed with the perfectly cooked 20oz "Medium-Rare" American Wagyu that was sliced so we were able to easily serve several slices to each person and cut each slice further as needed. Although the chef prepared the meat perfectly to our liking, it wasn't very tasty even with the sauce. This was another disappointment. This was served with some huge, tender Trumpet Mushrooms. The best item of the evening was actually the Apple Caramel Mousse Dessert! This was so heavenly to look at and eat! It was delicious and such a delight to have such a wonderful dish with so many textures and flavors! Crisp/fresh cut apples diced perfectly to complement the white chocolate and the mousse inside. Gosh! We wished the entire meal could have been just as wonderful and delicious! We might just have to come back one day for drinks and several of these desserts, 1 for each person! :0) FYI - The desserts here are amazing! We remember the Lemon dessert from last year and that was just as heavenly as this one! We are hopeful for some better appetizer and entree options that are much more flavorful than this recent experience. Thank you for hosting me and my family to celebrate our mom's bday. We enjoyed our birthday brunch that paired with individual yogurt parfaits and a pastry. Both were delicious. They even ask if anyone has a gluten, dairy or any type of allergy! I made reservations via the website and recd an email from Tracey. She confirmed and provided additional information. Our 47th Anniversary and they made our dining experience special. We were sat in a great location next to a window with a beautiful view. The food was absolutely delicious. We each started with a wonderful crisp salad. I had the breaded Chicken Cordon Bleu. It was so tasty with the ham and cheese inside it, and it came with the creamy, rich mashed potatoes. My husband ordered the steak, mushrooms and fries. He raved about his meal. We also each had a cocktail and a glass of wine. Our drinks were perfect - great tasting and generous on the pours. I believe our waitresses name was Rashida, and she was fabulous, but really, we were waited on by a whole team that worked so well together. We had a wonderful family dinner at Americana House. Some of us ordered from the Neighborhood Night menu while others chose items from the regular menu, and everything was delicious, especially the lasagna. The desserts were outstanding, and I highly recommend the chocolate cake. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and made the experience even better. read more

I had an amazing brunch yesterday at Americana House for Valentine's Day. Maya was our server and she was very attentive, friendly and helpful. Due to the weather, we could not sit outside which we enjoy, but we were seated next to the fireplace, which was very cozy. We started off with a glass of Charlie Palmer's sparkling wine and Chia seed parfait. My husband chose the steak and eggs, which were delicious as usual, and the steak was cooked to perfection. I chose the scallops and was not disappointed. Very delicious, not overcooked and the flavors went well together. I finished off the meal with a dessert of lemon tart, and my husband had coconut sorbet. The lemon tart was so good and my husband was very pleased with the sorbet. If you were looking for a place to spend a nice weekend I highly recommend their brunch. read more

The Townhouse Restaurant at the Wine and Roses Resort is now the Americana House. We sat on the patio on a warm summer evening as they were still renovating the lounge. We wanted to enjoy some drinks and appetizers so we ordered crispy baby artichokes, wild mushroom tartlets, glazed lamb bad bun, ah Frites (french fries), and chicken meatball skewers. Mushroom tartlets: looked kind of juvenile with small, cubed mushrooms scattered on top of a dark brown mushroom jello. The taste was ok, for a solid 3/5. Would I order again? No. The chicken meatballs were more like chicken saltballs- but the dip was garlicky and awesome, albeit unnecessarily oily. Would I get again? No. The two best shareable items were the lamb bad buns- juicy, flavorful with nice balance of flavors. Avoid if you dislike mint, though. That flavor was not subtle. I would get again. The fried baby artichokes were disgusting globs drowned in acid. Gross, sour, vomit flavored mush! The ah frite french fries were In and Out fries on steroids- yumm. I could tell they were made from fresh potatoes, not greasy at all, and just simply prepared with a perfect amount of salt. Another highlight was the house made bread- an improvement from the former Townhouse- this handmade loaf was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. It was served to us cold and warming it up before serving would have taken it to another level. The cosmopolitan I ordered was nothing special, but I really enjoyed the Grenache rose from the local Acquiesce winery in Lodi. Our server was a 2/5. She spilled some of my drink on our table and didn't bother to wipe it up. She also couldn't describe the food at all, beyond, "it's good," and when she checked on us it was just a rushed, obligatory "everything good?" at best. The service was definitely not the level we were accustomed to receiving at the former Townhouse. The food didn't seem much of an improvement either. Fortunately, the ambience pushed this review up to a 3- the restaurant is still very much the same, classy and quiet, with relaxing live music if you're able to get seated indoors. read more

May Tuesday 8pm Had the lovely occasion to stay at Wine and Roses and stopped by Towne House to grab dinner to go. I got the Wagyu Steak, honest greens salad, whipped chevre, and caramel mousse. The presentation in the to-go boxes was thoughtful. The Wagyu's was seasoned just right. The ice cream with the mousse had great texture. You could actually taste the individual greens. The flavor is salt forward, but it was perfect for me. This was more than enough food, and luckily the room had a fridge. The ambiance in the restaurant was super cute and cozy. Live music was playing. Had I not been nursing a headache for the past few hours I would have brought my laptop in to work while I ate. Excellent flavors and execution. I'll be back! read more

We drove out to be with our family and enjoy what we thought would be a wonderful Christmas brunch, what an incredible disappointment. Starting with the ambience, we were seated in a private room, which was nice. However, the lightbulb in the chandelier was flickering incessantly, and it was not just annoying, but gave me a headache. None of the food was up to par. It seemed as if it had been made much earlier and left sitting out. I had the sausage frittata, it was incredibly dry, hard and burnt. I also had the spaetzle which was overcooked and gloppy. Nobody at the table, enjoyed the food sadly. I must say we will never go back, which is too bad. We've had many good meals there in the past so I don't know what happened if it's new ownership or what but it's a disappointment. read more

The atmosphere and service are top without question. The food flavor was great, my only issue and why I don't give 5 stars was my steak was not what I ordered. I requested medium well as I don't like raw foods. It was medium rare almost fully rare. I feel like for what you pay the very least expectation is to cook my steak as ordered. I love a great cocktail and they had wonderful drinks. A suggestion would be to add something spicy as in hottt on the cocktail menu! read more

We went here while staying at wine and roses, this place was wonderful and the service was great but turn around from order to getting our food was a bit slow. I understand that they because they are kind of under construction or revamping their menu so everything was limited but it was a bit slow. Other than that the place is beautiful and the food was great. read more

Wow! I was looking forward to this meal when I learned that Charlie Palmer created this restaurant. He has such a renown pedigree and taught other famous chefs. Well, this is a case of all hype and no there there. Really disappointed in the quality of the meal last night. My duck was still quacking, barely edible as the breast was more rare than med-rare, fat had not been rendered at all. The confit leg was pale and did not have any sear on it. It looked staight up microwaved and it was cold. The skewers for app were okay and the crab salad was fine but nothing impressive. Overall, the food tasted sad & looked sad. The best thing it had was the server who was very sweet and bubbly but service can only do so much. This place is charging San Francisco prices for food that is simply not up to par. Next time I'm in Lodi for a spa day, I'll have dinner elsewhere. read more
