A few friends told me about the sourdough pizza and I knew I had to try it when I was in the area. I went in around 430ish. It wasn't crowded at all. After a quick overview of the menu I decided on the fig and pig and the bee sting slice. The fig and pig was tasty! Think of a charcuterie slice...cheese, meat and fig jam. I enjoyed the sweet and salty balance. The bee sting was great! Cheese, pepperoni, hot honey and ricotta. I loved the dollops of ricotta! It paired well with all the other flavors on the slice. The sourdough really does make a difference and I'm a fan! There are a few tables inside as well as outside. Slices are about $5.50 each which isn't bad at all and I feel it's worth it. Visited today, placed my order with an unpleasant young man and was told it will be about 8 minutes. After sitting and waiting for 15 minutes, I went back to the young, unpleasant man and asked him for an update. It turns out, my order was never put in. So not only was he unpleasant, he was also inattentive. After several insincere apologies, I just asked for my money back. Here is the kicker- he calls the OWNER for approval, and the OWNER does not even attempt to understand, apologize or make it right. He doesnt say a word to me. The only person who tried to make it right was a sweet young lady behind the counter. She is more personable, self-aware and accountable than the OWNER. Its a shame because they have good pizza, but maybe they dont need the business. I will take my money to Dough and Co. The OWNER there actually cares about customers. PS- Business is good until its not. Learn to cherish your biggest asset- your customer. read more

I am a 62 year old NYer and have been eating pizza since I had teeth. Regularly. To put it mildly I'm a pizza snob. Admittedly, I can eat any local joint's slice, but never with pure pleasure and abandon. But now it's all changed. The pizza at Americano is without question the best pizza I've had anywhere in The States, much less Long Island. It is truly the best foodie-find of the past six years for me (the last was a place in the city that unfortunately is now gone as a result of the pandemic mom&pop restaurant assassination). To be fair I ordered two of their simpler slices- I'm not one for all the nouveau pizza topping additions. The regular square and the white square are MAGNIFICENT. Crunchy bottom, soft interior, great char with just enough sauce and cheese to not cause an overload. The sourdough base is sublime. It really shouldn't be masked and it truly shines. My only dilemma now is living so nearby. I see too much Americano in my future. read more

OMG, the Shoom pizza was a game changer! In Syosset no less, why can't these pizzaiolos start somewhere closer to my home in Stony Brook? What intrigued me about Americano Pizza Shop is a Long Island success story. The owner started with a pizza truck and parlayed that success into a brick-and-mortar location. What makes the pizza interesting is the use of sourdough. Me personally? I never had it before in pizza dough. Americano Pizza Shop is taking on some crazy twists with their pizza. I have been to similar NYC spots like Mama's Too which offers a spin on the classics. Same concept, except it's on Long Island with no 90 minute wait. I walk into the pizza place and see there's a light lunch crowd. Lots of choices I see on the large menu board. I'm going with the Bee Sting and Shoom Pizza. These combinations are nothing like I grew up with as a kid. I worked in Mamma Lombardi's after school, the most outrageous pizza they made in the 80s was meatball. The Shoom pizza has fresh mutz, mushrooms and a drizzle of truffle oil. Now add the sourdough crust and it becomes a complex pizza with an explosion of different flavors. The tangy sourdough mixed with the taste of truffle and freshly cut mushrooms? Holy moley, a complete game-changer. The same with the Bee Sting. The first time I had this combination was at Roberta's in Brooklyn. Hot Honey on pepperoni pizza? Sounds weird, but hot honey on pizza? If lovin' you is wrong, I don't wanna be right. Again I have to mention, the addition of sourdough crust? It's something unique that I never had before on pizza. I'm sure in San Francisco they're like, welcome to the party New York. The lightness of the dough makes it feel guilt free while the flavors grip your taste buds and take them on an epic roller coaster. The bee sting. Pepperoni cups baked to perfection, topped with hot honey on the same airy dough spotted with burrata cheese. A smooth sail through the seas of spicy and sweet. Each element balancing the other while exciting the tastebuds. How can something so light be so filling? After going to Dario's, I decided to drive up to Syosset to hit up a brand new pizzeria from the man behind the Americano Pizza Truck. The fact that the pizza is made with sourdough is something that excited me as it is very digestible and easy on the stomach. I had a white slice and the Shrooms slice. The dough had a nice tang that comes with the sourdough flour. After eating both slices, didn't feel heavy, showing that this pizza is well fermented and made so good. The service was fast and I had my slices within a few minutes and the restaurant is small, but perfect for what they are going for and love the vibes. This is definitely worth a visit and if you love sourdough pizza, you can't go wrong with Americano. read more

I visited for the first time during their soft opening. I ordered a regular slice, a sausage and white slice. I enjoyed all of them and thought that they were cooked the perfect amount. The employees were friendly and provided fast service. They have a few tables inside along with bar seating along the window. There's also a parking lot to the left side. Cute pizza place serving sourdough pizza. The crust is light and crispy with a slight chew and hint of tanginess. It's great that you can order by the slice so we got to try a variety of slices. My daughter loved the pesto slice and hubby loved the pepperoni with hot honey slice (bee sting) and the sausage slice. The mushroom s slice was pretty good too. They also have a few outdoor tables on the sidewalk to enjoy your pizza on nice warm weather days. We took ours to go and warmed it up in our toaster oven. read more

Not only is this guy living my dream, but he nailed it. Pizza is great. It's perfected. Hard pressed to find someone who's creative and really knows what he's doing. Sourdough is a pain in the ass and he's really got it down. Besides that the staff is awesome. A dude with glasses and the owner helped me out. Super friendly and helpful. Came in with my kids, one is 7 months and while I was stressing out, the owner hooked me up with some water for my 3 year old on the way out. New small pizza spot in Syosset. Ok to eat a quick bite, definitely not a sit down spot. The spot was packed so it was a little rushed and hard to communicate with people serving. Now to the food: short menu, very thin and light slices. Flavor is good. HOWEVER, I took the slices to go and they are so thin that they are terrible after reheating. When we opened them at home most of them were carbonized and ended up in the trash. I am giving 3 stars hoping to try a fresh pie that I can eat immediately as I think that could be good, but don't go for slices. read more

Went there because of their pizza truck, I thought that they lost a little quality since moving into the storefront. I would say it's not as good as it was but you should give it a shot and see how you like it. Wow! What an amazing slice!!! Must try brand new. Top spot in Nassau for sure. I put it up against tagliatelle and Dario's.
