I love Roadmasters! I have been a customer for years. I recently took a road trip to San Diego. When I arrived I discovered I had a slow leak in one tire. I took it to Discount Tire, and they told me not only did I need a new tire, but because I had all-wheel-drive I needed four new tires! He quoted me over $800. I told him forget that! He told me it was unsafe to drive! I drove back 1,052 miles back to Boulder. Roadmasters fixed the tire for less than $20. read more

These guys may be crooks! Only go there at your own risk! I tried to fix a grinding sound in my brakes and they told me that it can only be fixed with brand new rotors and pads. The pads had 5% ware on them and they still recommended that was the only way to fix it. They charged me for lifting the car and diagnosing the issue but never fixed the grinding sound. But what they did do is make other recommendations that far exceeded the value of the vehicle. I took the car back in a few weeks later and miraculously, the sound went away for a few weeks with a minor fix. I asked them what they did and they said they took the brakes apart and cleaned them. He wanted to charge me for lifting the car again...but I stood firm and said you guys already charged me for that last time. Astonishingly, he waived the fee for the lift but charged me for the minor adjustments. I asked him why they didn't do that the first time when I brought the car in about the grinding sound and his reply was "because you didn't ask for it." Truly unbelievable these guys are...really though, would anyone in there right mind take in a car, pay for the lift but not have any minor work done? Leads me to keep questioning their intentions. On another note, I also had a power steering leak that was causing the engine to smoke after driving for 15 min trips. Their answer was that it was a BIG leak(which It wasn't because I've been topping it off for over 1.5 years now after there recommendation which would've been close to $1k) and they said that if the pump runs dry it will cost me close to $2,000. I said no problem, I'll just buy a bottle of power steering fluid ($7) and keep topping it off so it never runs low again.They say it was just a recommendation, but I honestly feel like they were using a scare tactic to have me put more money into the vehicle that has close to 200,000 miles. They shop tech asked me "you probably smell and see the smoke huh?" Well no kidding genius, isn't that why I brought it in fella!? He continued about what could happen if the pump runs dry like I was actually going to listen to him and spend another close to another thousand dollars. Nice try though buddy, I really hope you don't take advantage of too many people like that but I'm sure that's not the case. After all their "recommendations" I started to feel that maybe I should sell the vehicle before it started to cost me more and more every year. I asked him if anyone in the shop would like to make an offer. He responded with a "Low Ball" offer of $750 stating that any person taking over the vehicle will need to put time and money into fixing it and that's why it's only worth that much to whoever was making the bid. The reason I'm wasting my time writing this review is because I just sold the vehicle on craigslist to a mechanic that said even with the leak it was a solid car. I ended up getting $2100 for the car even though I drove it for close to two years after their recommendations and $750 offer. The moral of the story is that their recommendations might be right in some instances, but from my experience it seemed like they were trying to pull a fast one. The real question is who actually listens to these idiots? If you really want to get ripped off and have a very questionable experience at a mechanic, then by all means bring your car to these guys because they make great "recommendations." read more

tried to get an oil changed their. Called them to set up appointment at 4. They said they wont be to do it so i said i will drop it off at noon then come pick it up. I show up at 4 and its not done. I could of dropped it off at 4 if that was the case. Just took the car never going back. read more

I recently went to Roadmasters to get my windshield wipers changed, my oil changed, and my tires rotated. I was told to come in at 7 am but when I did, upper management informed me that their technicians were not going to arrive until 8 am. That gave me some time to get some errands done within the shopping center near Roadmasters. When I came back to pick up my Jeep, The manager Steve only charged me for the oil change! I thought that was very generous. Thank you to Steve and the crew at Roadmasters! They made me feel very safe before hitting the road to Salt Lake City. I had a failing wheel bearing in my 2006 Impala. I picked this shop due to the location and my ability to walk to work. I didn't have an appointment, just asked if they had the time that day. They squeezed me in, found the bad wheel bearing hub. The part (Napa PBR930548K) is $90.34 locally. This place charged me $270 for that part. I WILL NOT RETURN FOR FUTURE WORK. a 300% markup on the part costs is outrageous. - Clearly - they charge based on how desperate you are in need of a repair. It is evident that the business is run with ethics and honesty. No unnecessary repairs are ever suggested. My 4Runner has 240K+ miles on it and they help me invest the money I need to keep her going without throwing good money after an old car. They are friendly, capable and extremely honest. I have been using these guys as my mechanics exclusively for a few years now, and have been extremely happy with their work and service every time. Before I found Roadmasters, I had some awful experiences at other places - it seems like a lot of the shops around here assume that just because I'm female and driving a car with expensive parts, it will be easy to sell me on work that is totally unnecessary. I've had the opposite experience with Roadmasters, and that's why I keep going back. They are always prompt, professional, and friendly, and I've never felt that they were trying to sell me something I didn't need. There have been several instances where they'll call with a repair estimate and recommend taking care of a part that is due for replacement or starting to fail, but they are always very up front about just how necessary it is to do right away and the pros/cons of waiting. My car throws a lot of check engine lights, which usually means a $100 diagnostic fee just to find out what's going on. These guys have been very reasonable about waiving this for me when there's a huge repair involved, or if the code relates to a part they've put in (as was the case this last time). They obviously appreciate loyal customers, and their consistently great service keeps me coming back even now that I've moved out of Boulder. read more

Great job here. I brought my car here after shopping for new brakes and rotors somewhere else. Goodyear told me I only needed about half the work as the other place and they found coupons and discounts for me which saved me additional $125. I came back here after I thought they did a solid job on my tires. Goodyear on Table Mesa is 2 for 2 now. read more

Stay away from them, 0 stars is my rating, not even one. I had my oil change done at this place. After the job was completed, I noticed that my door of a brand new white car had blue paint, that I did not have before they took the car for the service, the same color as their stands near car doors in the shop. I called the technician, who took a SOLVENT and tried to remove the pain without asking me if this is OK. He damaged the original paint on my door and removed the clear coat. When I called the owner of the place, Mr. Todd Gerlings, and spoke with him over the phone, he stated that his business does not carry any responsibility for any damages to cars brought for services. I assume that my case was not the first they were involved in. I had to spend hundreds of dollars to fix this issue with a body shop after all. Stay away from this place if you have a nice car or/and care about the look of your car. read more

I was in Boulder two weeks ago visiting my daughter, who had a tire that was constantly losing air. She works crazy 12 hour shifts in an ER and had been trying to get it fixed on her limited time off. She sat in the waiting rooms of the nationally known tire centers, being told it would be a day or two before they could get to her. She took her car to the dealership who told her the tire was unfixable. Since the exact replacement tire was no longer available,they said she would need two new back tires for balance and they couldn't help her. She had to go back to work, so I stepped in and consulted YELP, where I found Roadmasters in Boulder. Nick told me he would order the two tires and have them in that afternoon. Imagine my surprise and joy when he called me and said they were able to fix the tire for $17 versus the cost of two new tires. I offered to pay a "restocking" fee, but Nick refused saying he couldn't sleep at night if he didn't do the right thing. It's so refreshing to know that there are honest, helpful people out there, and we need to support them. Thanks to Nick and your staff.
