And they took my credit card for incidentals...what kind of incidental could this place offer? Separate sleeping quarters for bedbugs??? Americas best value inns are usually basic but clean. Visited 8/20/2019 Chose this place because it's as reasonably priced as it gets in Bishop. Stayed two nights and was pleased with our room. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the room was nice and fresh and clean. It's a little dated but better than a motel 6. Several decent places to dine nearby. Where do I even start. Usually if I don't like a place I just don't write a review and just move on. But I need to say this to help some people out. This place is the nastiest and the most disgusting place I have ever seen in my life. There are bugs EVERYWHERE!!! I recommend you spend a little extra and stay at a nicer place. The motel has been sold and is no longer run by America's Best Value or Red Lion Enterprises. It feels cheap. The bed is hard as a rock. The cigarette odor from perhaps decades ago lingers. The shower is moldy and feels like the floor is rotting underneath. The shower has gym-style shampoo filled from Costco or maybe Smart & Final since that's just down the road. The front desk clerk was surly and barely made eye-contact, I felt like I was a burden on his existence. But the very best part of my $144 dollar night at the Bishop Motel (as it is now called), was the air conditioner that sounded like a jet engine all night and literally left my ears ringing for hours after I left. I would give this place zero stars but it appeared the sheets were clean and the refrigerator worked and the TV was okay if I could have heard it over the AC. read more

This motel is very well kept newly remodeled and clean. I have stayed at several motels in bishop for the price this is by far the best. Fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in room. The owner is very nice and accomodating. I booked the room thru the motels website got the best price without using a hotel booking app. I would stay here again. read more

Do yourself a favor, spend a little bit more money and pass this one by. The neighbors next-door were loud and banging on the walls until 1:30 in the morning, continuously fighting at each other, yelling and screaming. The room is tiny and dirty as if they've never cleaned it before. And if you run the AC, good luck trying to get any sleep. It sounds like a Harley Davidson is revving right in your ear. I had to wear sandals in the shower, and even in the room because the carpet was so disgusting as if they don't even vacuum after each guest. There were ants and little bugs all over the room. I can see now why the price was so cheap now. If you decide to not take my advice, I warned you. read more

My boyfriend and I took a last minute trip to Bishop for the 4th of July weekend so we could get away and enjoy the outdoors during this pandemic. What made our stay SO SPECIAL was the hospitality. I'm not sure what her name is but the owner of this motel is the nicest, most sweetest women I have ever come across. Even though we were far away from home, we felt so comfortable here. Immaculate! It's a "motel" but the room was brand new (remodeled 5 months ago) with laminate wood flooring and all countertops were granite. New sink, tub and hardware. And everything was SPOTLESS! Nicer than some if the pricey "hotels" we stayed at on this road trip. It's located on a QUIET neighborhood side street. We had to park on the road as we were pulling a trailer and everything remained secure. They even had a small continental breakfast in the office. This was a last minute booking on Hotwire to pull off the road to sleep and it was under $100! Save your money and stay here. read more

The name speaks for itself. the "America's Best Value Inn" my family was stuck in Bishop for 3 days because i got into an accident, i had to stay in bishop until my car was to be fixed. My family stayed at Rodeway Inn, and then we switched to Mountain View Motel, and finally because America's Best Value Inn was closest to the Sierra Auto Body Works where our car is fixed, we've decided to stay here. It had two queen beds, and the rates were the cheapest. The room was very clean, and my family had no problem sleeping here. I know where to stay next time! America's Best Value Inn!!! They also had free wifi for the clients. There is no place in Bishop offer better value than this with friendly service. We were skeptical reading other people's review, but I've dealt with the lady there and we had no problem. read more

Friendly staff and a good place to stay last minute of you don't feel like paying higher prices for the other hotels. We just needed a place to sleep and this place did the job. The rooms are outdated but well maintained and cleaned. It's not right off the main highway either so it's quiet making for a good night's rest. read more

Traveling the 395 back to San Diego after going to a cousins wedding in Topaz Lake NV. We prefer the places like Spring Hill Suites (which you can get a great deal on BTW) - but when each room is 150.00 a night, well you start to look around. Since we have have four children - three of which are old enough for their own room, we try to get two rooms when we travel. Well, the price was right at 59.99 each for a king - The rooms were clean, and comfortable. There was a pool and laundry. We parked right in front of the room which made loading and unloading very easy. The place was full and with normal traveling families and backpackers. We walked to dinner just up the street after a dip in the pool and strolled the neighborhood which is older homes with lots of character. I recommend. read more

Good value for the money. The room was spacious and clean. I looked but didn't find any bugs. It is a little way off the main road. It was so quiet at night that i turned on the a/c for some sound. (I am used to city street noises at night). The King-sized bed was soft with small pillows/ 4 or 5. It has a new shower that is high and good if washing hair. Otherwise, you need a shower cap. There were no amenities and the soap dispenser by the sink was out of soap. The sink does not have a towel rack because it is outside of the toilet and shower room which does have a towel rack. The towels were scratchy. There is a small refrigerator, microwave and large flat-screen tv. There was a table and two chairs, but no easy chair. I didn't use the swimming pool or laundry room. Breakfast is meager with cereal, milk, some fruit, and small pastries. Lady at front desk very nice and friendly. Parking convenient as you can drive to the front door of your room on ground floor. I've stayed here at least four times already. They ALWAYS have the cheapest rate. Sure, the rooms aren't elaborate, but the room with two beds that I was in had a mini fridge and a microwave. That's really all you need! I've never had any problems staying here, and I'll probably be back again soon. A cool Indian guy was working the front desk the last time I was there. I was very worried that going for the cheapest hotel might result in bed bugs - but GREAT news, no bed bugs here! I checked extensively. Also, the couple who runs the place were really friendly. They gave us a king sized bed for the same price as the queen. $79 after tax. Basic room, nothing fancy, but well maintained and clean. Seriously great value! Oh, and free wi-fi! read more

Since this was the only place in town we could find that had any rooms, we stayed. That's probably why the price was so high at $153. The bed was comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water but it squirted out onto the floor. The swimming pool had a white scum on it. I wouldn't stay again. read more

Picked this place as the price was right. NOW I KNOW WHY! The location was on a small side street that was in a residential neighborhood/industrial area. Looks like I was going in a large sardine can. Parking spots very tight,(if you have a SUV it's close), Needs new paint and is very run down. At first when I check in the desk was very polite. In the room I was sent to the Toilet bowl had a black hair and brown spot in side of bowl. There was a phone in room and I wanted to call desk, but no cord, so I had to walk back to office. They Switched rooms. 2nd room, had a stale smell and had black on base of wall in bathroom, not sure if it was mold. A/C was not cooling room, if it was going to cool it was so loud we had to talk louder to each other. WIFI that was promised did not work in room, worked in parking lot, had to stand outside in the heat. The second room had a phone cord on night stand but no phone in room. Went to desk to say sorry, thanks for trying but we can't stay here. The attitude with front desk, I assume it was the owner changed attitude to nasty. They said we switched rooms, I said it was not my fault the toilet was dirty, they were blaming me that they had to switch rooms. My husband used toilet in 2nd room, so they were going to charge $50. I offered $30, I was told $50 and that's what it's going to cost for housekeeping and now I have 2 rooms I can't rent till Tomorrow. Yet I saw the a Front desk agent go to 1st room and clean the toilet. Now that room can be rented. Nothing else was touched in either room. A change in attitude to Very rude and talked down to me. I'm surprised this place has passed health inspection. I also don't know why it still says America's Best on the ice bucket, if they no longer affiliated. read more

Bed is super hard, there was no hot water in our room, wi-if did not work. & continental breakfast consists of two containers of cereals and a gallon of milk sitting on top of a table top 3 feet away from the front desk! So bad.. won't stay here again. It was last minute anyways, which explains why it was the only available hotel with vacancy. I guess you get what you pay for. read more

Terrible service. Called ahead of time and made a reservation. We were quoted $79 for the night and said estimated arrival of 12:30 AM. We showed up and the bill was $99 plus tax which resulted in $114. It was too late to find another place so we were forced to stay. They pretty much tried to kick us out once I even questioned the price and said go find a cheaper place to stay this late. Very unreasonable service and took advantage of our situation. read more

For the price, this was a great deal! Swimming pool was delightful. Our room had a fridge, & microwave. The hotel had laundry facilities , a fish cleaning station & freezer. Staff were friendly & personable. Breakfast was included. Hotel was walking distance from local restaurants, galleries, grocery stores, & gas stations. Mountain views & great sunsets. As a young traveler from Los Angeles driving to lake Tahoe I was a bit worried when I booked this hotel. We looked as bishop as a halfway point to stop and when we rolled in it was what we expected . When we arrived we where greeted by a very welcoming Indian lady. She was very friendly asking where we were from and what were doing out here...when we walked into the room I was pleasantly surprised.everything from the bed to the shower was amazing I loved every second of my overnight stay. For the price 65 a night it was a STEAL! I am a happy customer and if your looking for a quality hotel with no bells and whistles I promise you this is the place to be. read more

Free Wi-Fi connection did not reach the 2nd story building where I stayed and was slow in the evening when the motel was full and several people were online at once. Checked in, unloaded an entire car into an upstairs room, started two loads of laundry, and then was asked to exit the property or the police would be called. Turns out the hot water to the washing machines was turned off because it costs too much money to heat water. When my girlfriend found out, she wasn't happy because the main reason we stayed here was because we needed guest laundry and by not telling us they turned off the hot water, they basically lied to us. I don't understand laundry too much, but apparently some of her stuff could have been ruined. This was the first time in over 25 years I had to split from a hotel. I understood that time, I had a kegger on the roof of the Holiday Inn in Torrance. This time I just don't understand. I will never come back. In fact, I think I might be staying away from the Brand all together. They didn't even offer to give me my damn quarters back. read more

Do not stay here unless you have no other choice. Every hotel/motel was booked so it was sleep here or sleep in the car. Our room was so hot & stuffy when we first arrived; the sink was clogged so it took forever for the water to drain; the floors, sink and bathrooms felt/looked dirty; and there were old cup rings! on the bedsides tables. This indicates to me that the room was not thoroughly cleaned. read more
