I am constantly renting vehicles for my trips to visit family and I can always count on Enterprise to take good care of me!

Enterprise rent a car is pathetic. Two weeks ago my daughter and son in law and young kids were stranded in this town due to a problem with their truck. They were headed up to our family in Truckee. They found an auto shop that was willing to store their truck for a week and then they were going to rent a car for the week so that they could make it to Truckee. Enterprise, the only rental car place in the whole area, flat out refused to rent them a car because they didn't have a credit card. My daughter had her debit/visa available and my son in law had a digital credit card. Enterprise told my daughter that it has to be a credit card to rent a car so my daughter told them to run her card as a credit then since it can be used as a credit card. Enterprise then said "no your card has to be run as a debit because we run the transaction as a debit if it is a debit/Visa card." My daughter then said to run it as a debit and then they said "no we can't do it because it isn't a locally issued debit card." I guess if you're more than 50 miles away you're out of luck with a debit card here. Then my son in law said to run the transaction on his digital credit card and they wouldn't do that either. My daughter explained their being stranded situation and then I called them too. We begged and pleaded with them to no avail. They had spent the whole day waiting in the hot sun for AAA to tow their truck and then at the auto shop to find out what was wrong with the truck. The auto shop only had a tiny shed for sun protection. If they had a car from Enterprise they could've at least been able to have AC while they waited, since the auto shop was too far walking distance to any places to sit in AC. They had to stay in Bishop an extra night and the only saving grace was the Vagabond Inn. My daughter's Venmo card wasn't working when she tried to book a room there so I called the Inn to rent them a room. Luis took pity on me when he heard the desperation in my voice. Normally you have to be there to show your I.D. which is their policy. Unlike Enterprise, Luis waived the policy, and graciously let me rent them a room at the Vagabond. Luis recognized that this was an emergency since they were stranded. Enterprise on the other hand, didn't give a crap. My son in law finally was able to rent a truck through Turo. They made it up to Truckee and at the end of the week they rented a car in Reno through Budget, with absolutely no issues, to drive back to Arizona, since they had to return the Turo rental to Bishop. My husband and I have been long time customers of Enterprise but no longer. We will use Avis, Budget or Turo from now on and we will certainly share this negative story of what my daughter and son in law went through, with everyone that we know. Enterprise has lost a customer of over 35 years and will be losing a lot more customers after everyone hears this story. read more

I had booked a car for airport pickup without realizing that I needed to arrive before six pm. Jackie proactively tracked me down at 4pm while I was still high in the Sierras on a trail.... I flew in at 7pm and Jackie immediately came out to the airport and delivered the car to me then and there. Absolutely great service! Thank you! read more

The 2 gentleman working at the counter the evening I tried (the 1st time) to rend a car were wonderful. I had lost my wallet and just gotten a replacement credit card within an hour of when my reservation expired. They did everything they could to help me rent the car (the card would not work even though I had activated it). The next morning I got the problem straightened out with my bank (they denied the charge b/c they were afraid it was fraud) and the next day the same team (in Bishop, CA) helped me re-rent the car. Their and helpfulness and kindness were so great. Kudos to this office. read more

My car broke down 60 miles south of Bishop, leaving me stranded but not without a laptop and options. I checked into a motel and did my research. I decided to have the car towed to Bishop based on two important factors: 1) There was an Enterprise location that advertised many cars available; a one-way rental to Los Angeles would be $215. 2) There was a mechanic who could work on the car but it would likely take at least a week. The next morning, I paid $640 to have the car towed. When I arrived at the Bishop Enterprise at 10:30AM, I was told there weren't any cars available but that multiple cars were expected by 3PM. But...the rate wasn't $215; they would charge me almost $900. My heart dropped and I relayed all of this to my husband who said, "They are trying to rip you off. I just reserved a car online for you for $230 and you can pick it up at 1PM." So I call Enterprise back and the manager says, "OK, we'll honor that rate. Just waiting on some cars." By 3PM, I was worried. I went back to the office in person and observed that the on-site carwash had been used. The woman at the office she confirmed that, yes, they had gotten a return but had given it to someone else. But...they were still waiting on another one. By 4PM, I hadn't gotten any calls so I went back to speak with them again. At that point, the representative offered to "hook me up with the names of some local hostels." I thought I might have better luck with the 1800 number but my calls were answered by robotic people reading off a script, likely working overseas. I resigned myself to checking into a motel. Since I ceased to hear anything back from anyone at Enterprise that night or the next morning, I decided my only option left was for my husband to drive up and get me. I don't know how any of this is fair or even legal. It's certainly not something I ever would have expected out of such a large and reputable rental car agency. It's certainly nothing I have ever come across in my many years of traveling and renting cars. It's been one full week and I've reached out to every email address that I can find for customer service, including the ones that have replied to some of these other negative reviews and I'll I've gotten back is, "Thank you for choosing Enterprise. Sorry you had a bad experience." I hope this review can save at least one person from the money I wasted as well as the stress and frustration I endured. read more

I've been around, traveled for business over 30 years- I've rented cars in half the States and several foreign countries. Never have I experienced anything like this. When you rent a car, the estimated price given when it is booked is not supposed to go up 50% when you get there to pick up your car. Ever. That's exactly what happened there in Bishop at Enterprise. Besides that, they didn't have enough cars to service the hour long line out in the parking lot. So we watched many people being turned away without a car. An absolute disaster- I strongly suggest you to not use Enterprise in Bishop. Utterly dishonest and a complete clown show! read more

They didn't hold the car for me that I reserved, which cost me an unplanned overnite stay in a hotel. Then they informed me on the second day that they don't accept Debit cards or cash or checks. CREDIT CARDS ONLY. I consolidated all my credit cards 2 yrs ago, so it would have been nice to know they only take credit cards. read more

Would give 0 stars if able too, the system is set up for failure. They have people waiting for HOURS with no cars available. The lady working the front desk was obviously under trained and struggled to communicate with the customers without talking in circles. We reserved a car for 10 am and at 11:30 am finally stated she didn't have a car available for us. This place is horrible for a number of reasons: 1) they overbook and Don't have the cars available, 2) only 2 people were working, 3) they have 3 cars outside that were broken (literally broken back windows, broken headlights, 4) dirty bathroom and 5) unprofessional staff, we went with another rental car service. read more

The Bishop, CA people were very nice and let us trade the car we had gotten in Burbank that was only 2wheel drive (when we had asked for AWD) for an AWD with very good tires to use in snowy conditions in the mountains. read more

HWY 395South, north of Bishop on the Sherwin Grade. Travelling 65MPH, downhill and gaining speed, in a JACKED UP Chevy one ton long-bed and a giant 3800# cabover camper atop. BAMMMMM! The rear left WHEEL stripped of all lug nuts, comes off, bounces down the freeway and we are SKIDDING on the rotors trying to maintain control! Oh what the HELL!. Enterprise Rental is the ONLY car rental in town. Jaime (PR; Hi-may) and Kyle are the Managers, and they sent ALEX 30 minutes up the freeway to rescue us! He took me and our 2 dogs, and we followed the tow truck into town. Alex is a local and he told me a lot of cool places to go check out while we were there. Including gallon margaritas around the corner, which we totally needed after 11 hours! Probably the best customer service I have ever had car-rental wise. They are efficient, cheerful, and super willing to help in any way. And they gave us a discount on the rental, for all the stress we had endured. Thanks again guys!! Best enterprise location to date! Staff is very friendly, the branch is very clean, the cars are always spotless and sanitized, and the mask wearing during Covid to keep everyone safe has always been present here! I have been a frequent renter here because it is nice to Rent a car for lengthy drives & no I have to worry about car issues from having an older car. I always get incredible service from all the employees here! Milton is very friendly and always goes above and beyond to provide the best fitting car for me & always has a great attitude in the workplace! whenever I get there to check in he's always busy doing something(in a good way)! washing/sanitizing cars, greeting people as soon as they walk up, or reading off the contract with clients & examining cars before they take off. Cruz is a great employee as well! Always very elaborate on cost breakdowns and contracts, and his communication in person or on the phone is always very friendly & helpful! Daniel is another star employee! He was kind enough to inform me to drive safe because there is a deer migration in effect and to just be cautious when driving the roads around here! He's Very patient with questions I have and is Incredibly professional as an employee over the phone and in person! He has such a passion for his job that it translated into pure excellence! Kyle is another wonderful employee making sure that I am completely satisfied every day with my rental , & if I have any questions or anything to not hesitate to give them a call! I appreciate that on so many levels because instead of me feeling like a burden with questions, keeping the rental longer or having to drop the car off at a different location , kyle & the employees make you feel comfortable about reaching out & that speaks volumes of their level of service in bishop! Worst enterprise ever! Every time I go there there's always a problem. There's one particular employee that hates it there and in return hates you as well. I feel like he does everything in his being to make things more difficult. I rent cars from enterprise all the time and have never come across the problems he would create. At one point I even had to tell him he didn't have to be so rude. The third time I rented from there I had quite a bit of ones to pay with. He made sure to roll his eyes, say "you got to be kidding me" and then slam each bill on the counter. Worst customer service ever, horrible choice of cars. I'd rather walk to my destination then rent a car from this location again. read more

Earlier this year, I rented a car from this location for a work trip --- preferring to rent than drive my late model car across the state. A defective tire went flat en route and although time consuming, the tire was replaced at no cost to me and the rest of the trip was without incident. I've twice since tried to rent from this location, once for a family medical emergency out of town and another time with a little under a week's advance notice, only to be told that they had no cars -- zero! -- available to rent. Weirdly, you get a fair way through the reservation process before you are told this. Apparently they are understocked for the demand in the area? While I hate to be beholden to friends and family, in future I am inclined to just borrow a car rather than dealing with the additional stress of trying to rent from Bishop enterprise. The staff were friendly enough and I get that the person at the counter can't do anything to fix this problem in the moment, but unless I have tons of advance notice to reserve a car, the risk of wasted time and added stress when I need a quick solution just aren't worth it. read more

The company that picks you up! BS I was just informed that there is no one else in the office so "sorry we can't pick you up!" Great how am I supposed to get from the fairgrounds to the rental car place? Lame!!!! Don't advertise this if you aren't capable of doing it! Well they lost another star! Just Ran to drop off the car before they closed for lunch at noon, got here at 11:50 and there was no one to be found! They had clearly closed more than 10 minutes early since no one was even in the shop. Had to leave the key in the drop and take 20 pictures to make sure I'm not held liable for something I didn't do. Being the ONLY car rental place in all of Bishop you would think they could manage more than one employee so they could actually PICK YOU UP and STAY THROUGHOUT STORE HOURS! read more

My car completely died while I was skiing in Mammoth over the winter. I towed it into Bishop, but ended up having to rent a car last minute since the engine was shot on my VW Tiguan. They were very helpful with the rental, but were also nice enough to try to find us an available flat bed car trailer and truck with tow capability anywhere in the area. That would have meant not needing their rental, but they helped out anyways. I ended up having to use the rental to drive three hours south to find a truck and trailer available at a U-Haul in California City, but would have been stranded and S.O.L. without their help. Back in July (2016) me and boyfriend were on vacation here. On our 4th day our transmission went out on us and we were forced to rent a car. However it was Sunday and nothing was open, so we stayed at a motel in town and called Enterprise as soon as they opened Monday morning. Long story short.. We were seriously ripped off. I have a receipt given to me by Jay, for $248 and some change. I was charged $500+ the next day! This was resolved by my bank. Then this location charges us $359! I had my bank refund me the difference ($124). Well guess what?! Enterprise reversed this refund 3 months later. And FYI we didn't even have the car for the 7 days they charged us for- we had it for 4 days. We dropped the car off on a Friday 30 minutes after they closed and put the keys in the drop box as they suggested we do. WE WERE BILLED FOR THE ENTIRE 7 days. THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE BUSINESS. I will be calling the corporate office in the morning and reporting this location to them. UNBELIEVABLE! STAY AWAY! read more

I have very positive experience with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Bishop, CA. We are lucky to have very nice agents always ready to take care of you. I have rented from this location, probably over 3 dozen times, during the last 15 years, and I have never ever had any issues with these guys. The staff that work here for years, like Daniel and Sean and others, are awesome guys. You can't beat them in their customer services skills and experience. Keep in mind, that Bishop is a small rural town, and if 10 people show up at any given time, they may not have vehicles for everybody. So you need to be aware of this. The managers who come here for limited term, from few months up to a year, are always the best. I know Gabby worked here in 2017 for some 7 months, then Adrianna worked here as a manager for some 10 months, and now Kelly True as of Sept 2018, all these guys clearly look very professional and devoted to their work. I had absolutely outstanding service from Adriana Carmona and Daniel Flores at Enterprise this week. My car had mechanical difficuclties on Friday morning. A new Transformmer movie was filming in the area wiping out the inventory of rental cars in the small isolated communties in the Owen's Valley. I really wanted to get home to the Salt Lake city area by Saturday evening, and despite the difficuties, Adiana and Daniel Flores (from the Mammoth Enterprise) totally made it happen. Both Adriana and Daniel went well beyond the call of duty. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 star has to do with the call service from the Enterprise system, which put me on endless holds and has a poor phone tree. I want to complement Milton and the Enterprise office in Bishop for outstanding customer service. I was in Mammoth Lakes dealing with a closed airport and no one answering the phone regarding my National rental that I was trying to now drop off at LAX due to the airport closure. The central National office kept telling me that the local office was "open" and only the local office could help me. After countless unanswered calls to the local office and 4 calls to the central number, the central number kept telling me they would email and call the local office and they would call me. A call was never received. Desperate as I had leave for the drive to LA, I called Enterprise in Bishop, CA as I knew they were affiliated with National. They understood my problem and also tried to contact National, when they could not, they made the changes I needed. They truly were concerned about my situation, reassured me and went above and beyond. Thanks again. read more

Best customer experience I've had! My boyfriend and I were traveling from San Diego through to Mammoth and Yosemite, and unfortunately our car broke down. We ended up having to tow the car to the dealership a few hours away. I was super frantic and didn't know what to do. By the time this all happened, it was 4:55pm in Bishop when I realized I needed to rent a car. I called 5 minutes before this location closed, and Daniel answered. What a life saver!! They didn't have a car ready and available, but was able to still make it happen! He picked me up about a mile and a half away (after their closing hours) and was extremely helpful and calmed me down. As I arrived to Enterprise, the store manager, Adrianna, assisted me with setting up my car rental and paperwork while Daniel quickly cleaned up the recently returned car on the lot. They had me in and out in less than 15 minutes. Adrianna was really patient with me as I gathered all of my information for her. I can't thank them enough for staying open after hours to help us! Our car had problems, so we made a reservation online, then we called the reservation phone number to make sure they got it. We got a call from Hymie to confirm that we were actually coming to pick it up that evening, There is no direct line when calling them. FYI: You must call the number on the internet, then press 4, that will take you to the local Bhisop office. Milton took great care of us upon arrival and we were on our way. If you hav a reservation , show up exactly in time to get you car or they will dump it to someone else... no warning, no phone call and no replacement car for you... They are the only people that rent cars in the town of a Bishop other then Uhaul truck... I told them I would be there in the morning, I was there at 11...... I have been using Enterprise in Bishop for the last year. I live in Incline Village, NV and during the snow season I have studded tires on my car. I often have to drive to southern California and I don't want to use studded tires down there. Conveniently I drive from Incline to Bishop with my studded tires (which is great because I am often driving in the snow) and then rent a car from Enterprise in Bishop for the remainder of the trip. The people at the location in Bishop personify customer service. They are always professional, friendly and always make things right. If there is an error involved, even if it is beyond their control (i.e. weather) they always try to accommodate your needs. Two people there stand out in my mind. One is a gentleman named Sean who is very efficient and helpful. He explains everything you need to know precisely and answers all questions. Very personable. Another is Gabby Ontiverros, who on one occasion stayed beyond the 12:00 noon start of the lunch hour when they close because I was late getting there. Also, I left a CD in the player in the most recent car I rented and she went out and found it for me and is mailing it back. There was another young man who helped me transfer all of the items in my car to the rental car. I cannot recall his name but he was not obligated to do so and was very helpful. All in all, I have had consistently great service from Enterprise and especially from the people at the Bishop, CA local. I highly recommend this location if you are in the Bishop/ Mammoth area read more
