The room has a peculiar odor, reminiscent of a sewer backup. Running the A/C and the bathroom exhaust fan don't seem to remedy the aroma. I got used to the smell after a few minutes.

The open the deadbolt lock to keep the room accessible, and they don't close it quietly for those that have a late check out with Hilton Honors membership, banging when they go in, banging when the leave. The restaurant is excellent and the food is great, albeit pricey. The bar is high dollar (surprise!), but the hours posted are not honored and I never can know when it I will find it open at all. They just closed the pool for the season and padlocked the gates so I can't even sit by the pool or enjoy the outdoor fire pit The little grass islands in the parking lot are heavily over watered everyday, so don't park next to any grass or get your car water spotted and be prepared to walk through rivers of water everyday in the parking lots . The beds and pillows are decent. The gym is well equipped with steppers, treadmills, free weights and weight machines. We asked for a refund as we specifically requested adjoining rooms during the booking process, the lady at the front desk was EXTREMELY RUDE and refused to process a refund, stating they had a 24 hour cancellation policy. This did not go well for any of us. I feel like they intentionally lied during booking to take our money knowing they would not refund it when they were not able to meet our needs. I will admit that I got ugly and tempers flared, she would not allow me to speak with the "Manager on Duty", she told me she did not have a phone number for him. She did finally send him an email and he agreed to refund the money (in 3 business days, I'm still waiting). Then she said we could cancell and not be charged a fee, if we walked. How rude! We had been traveling all day, then went to a wedding rehersal, no way i was going to look for another place. We ended up taking the room she offered. At the end of the stay we were charged For the 1 bedroom king Suite! WTH! Complain to front desk but they had no power and trying to get a manager was near impossible. Ended up filing a complaint with their corporate. This is the short version of the story. I suggest looking for someplace else unless you have no other choice. After this we'll choose Marriott and their subsidaries only as a last resort.

It was actually just after 1 AM. I didn't sleep at all apparently. And how could I with the loud nightclub next door. I made my way downstairs and I asked if I could switch to a different room. They said yes and they gave me a new room, which was actually on the same side of the hotel. So I went back down to the front desk again and this time they gave me a room that was on the opposite side of the hotel. So if you stay here, be sure to ask for a room on the residential side and not on the bar side. Unless you're into loud music pumping through your window while you're trying to sleep. Also, the blackout shades didn't really work and the light from the nightclub was also coming through the window. That's why I thought it was time to get up. Once I was able to fall asleep, which was after 2 AM, I slept OK. This had more to do with my state of mind and less to do with the room or the bed. The bed was comfortable, but I had a lot on my mind. I got up for breakfast at 7 AM and I was downstairs at 7:15 AM. They had eggs and the thinnest bacon I've ever seen in my life, and when I and another guest went to get pancakes we found that there was no batter in the machine. Also there was nothing in the frozen yogurt machine. The container for the oatmeal was full of boiling water which was spitting at me while I was trying to get oatmeal. It turns out the breakfast matron was distracted and that was because her tires were slashed the night before. Apparently a lot of people on her street got hit as well. Not a good start to the day for her. I wished her a better tomorrow. I would stay here again, but honestly I hope I never have to go to Midland again. More about my state of mind.

We checked in late last night saddened by the loss of our sweet boy Bentley. Overnight Kass had placed a goodie bag on our door with a beautiful drawing of our sweet Angel Bentley! Wow, this was so special! A reminder of how special Bentley was, how caring people can be and a reminder that Bentley does in fact still travels with us! Thank you Kass and thank you Fairfield!
