Wow! Unexpected menu and portions to say the least! Friendly service, clean tables, and welcoming environment. Incredibly inexpensive to boot. The flounder was not great- a little gummy and the popcorn shrimp were standard. Hush puppies are long tube like shape which is kind of fun and tasty. Baked potato was solid. The 2 combo platter was plenty for two people. My peers got the scallops, oysters, clams, and chicken all pretty accepted except the scallops were a bit off. Onion rings are not recommended- very over cooked. Chicken sandwich got good reviews but potato soup was par. Lots of sauce choice but wished for fresh lemon instead of lemon packets. Cocktail sauce and tartar were OK. Would come back but probably not get a combo because it's way too much food and would target something it's some green to combat the fried. read more

Called in order - got to drive thru paid - eventually asked to pull up and wait - when I asked how much longer before I pulled up I got "I am not sure" - food finally brought to the car - not what we ordered. Got refund after this 25 min ordeal. Not paying $28.31 for something I didn't order or am I patronizing a place where the service is not good. read more

YUMmMmmmmmm-O! After a LONG day at the NC Zoo our crowd of 7 was tired, Sweaty, and HANGRY! When we walked in we immediately noticed the funky cool decor and smiling faces waiting to help you! As mentioned we had a party of 7 so was nervous we would have to wait for an hour to get a table as there was so many people coming in to eat at this place BUT we were seated within 15 minutes! Our waitress was awesome grab drink orders returned quickly and knew what each of us ordered same with appetizers and then everyone's food order. Everything came out perfectly timed and fresh and HOT. The amount of food that they stake on the plates should nearly be illegal- in the MOST amazing ways! I MUST recommend the seafood in particular the shrimp and crab cakes with a loaded baked potato and coleslaw. Our drinks never went empty and EVERYONE voiced how scrumptious their dinner was. We for sure needed to-go boxes with the amount of food we were given! I can NOT forget to mention their incredible prices and combos! I ordered a plate of oysters and scallops from americas roadhouse express on 12.13.24. The total for this came to $25.94. When I got home I had a plate of overcooked dried up SHRIMP and oysters. Immediately I called the restaurant and spoke with Xavier. He said to come back the next day and it would be put right. I went back but the "front end manager" on 12.14.24 who said she could do nothing except give a discount be cause I did not bring back the food. The food from the night before was so nasty even my dogs would not eat it, and at no time before this was I told to bring back the food. I had even taken a picture of it as well as the receipt. I work too hard, and long for my money to be sold inedible food and then offered a discount on the next plate of inedible food. Roadhouse express, you have lost a customer for life. read more

The lunch specials are a great deal. The fish is fresh and there is plenty of it on the lunch special from 11am-4pm. Warning: the large salad will feed 2 people. The prices are really good. The food is normally great here. However, I ordered tonight and the plate was very short on food compared to normal. They charge an extra 2 dollars for scallops and oysters each. My two year old son absolutely loves the spaghetti and must have it at least once per week. The salads are always fresh, the steaks are cooked well. My husband enjoys the seafood and amount of seafood is overwhelming. My son was disappointed when they switched from the lobster "foods ready" caller to the regular squares ones but he has adjusted. Ok so My husband and I decided to stop in last Wed. Night with out son and daughter after her dance observation it was one of few restaurants close to her studio where we could sit down and enjoy our meal. You order at the counter then sit down and are given a buzzer that will go off and let you know your food is ready. We had a younger blonde girl who took our order not sure if she was having a bad night or what however we were the victims of her bad customer service and rude attitude. My children are 9 and 6 speak very clearly and are taught to look at someone when they are speaking to them they are very capable of telling a person what they would like to eat which they did so to only be met back with a solid stare no words no ok no reaction at all so much so my son looked at me for reassurance that she had got his order. Then I proceeded to order for my husband and I same reaction and when I asked for no onions on my salad it was as if I had created an issue for her. My husband never speaks a bad word to or about anyone but even he was upset for the treatment our kids received. The food was good cooked well and flavorful my daughter got the cheese sticks my son the kids burger with fries which by the way was huge and our two littles could have shared and my husband I got the beef tips they were cooked great .So to the cook well done also to the young man who was cleaning tables way to be a gentleman he helped me carry my trays to the table as I had two and would have had to come back for the second one he jumped right in and carried it over for me without me asking. To management I worked customer service for 10 years a smile and greeting goes a long ways I try to never leave bad reviews and I have been reviewing for years the girl who took my order was just overall rude and I would have gotten better customer service at McDonalds. You guys were not busy on this night and we were paying customers there was no need for the attitude we were served up. Unbelievable! I can't believe how much flounder they gave on their blue plate special and it was SO GOOD! My parents told me before we went but I thought they were exaggerating on how good this place is for lunch/dinner. This had to be one of the best buys for the money I've seen in years. Love their All American Fries! Their flounder and popcorn shrimp plate is usually hot and fresh when I go to eat there. It's not fancy, but if you're just looking for a good fried platter, theirs is a good one. I also get a kick out of their decor, very humorous. :-) read more
