Came in for a quick lunch. We got seated right away and had two different waitresses serving our table, so we never had to wait long to be checked on. They have a kids menu with reasonable prices and a crayon for coloring. My son had the apple sauce which he liked a lot. I had to brisket and a 1/4 rack of ribs. They let me try the brisket ahead of time and I liked it. The only ask I would like is more options for barbecue sauce. It was pretty quiet and parking was easy. read more

Based on past reviews, I was not sure what to expect. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. I would have to give the service five stars on its own because all of the employees were super nice. They brought these tasty croissants to the table right away and plenty of time to look over the menu. They had some tasty looking specials which change monthly. I ordered the prime rib with onion rings and a salad. The prime rib was tender, and I really liked the horseradish sauce on the side. The onion rings were amazing and I would recommend ordering them. I like that they make their salad dressings in house. I tried their hot bacon, which was tasty as well for dessert. We shared a slice of Keylime pie. Loved everything about this meal. Think a local Texas Roadhouse and that's what you're getting at Texas steak and tap. The butter is similar too! This is a very popular dinner spot in Lexington. The service is good, the fresh croissants they bring you literally melt in your mouth and they have a great menu. We went last night and even though my "go to" is the shrimp and grits I got a 12 oz. Ribeye that was seasoned well and tasted good. Well, I've contemplated long enough about writing this review. My family has eaten, or ordered take out several times from this Steakhouse. The food has ALWAYS been phenomenal, the portions are large, always fresh, and hot! Whether you're eating in or taking out! I feel you get your money's worth and more! However, my last experience there wasn't a good one. It wasn't the food, it was the customer service. I called in my order, and was instructed to pick it up at the bar. When I arrived at the restaurant, I went to the bar as instructed. The barmaid was waiting on customers, so I waited, no big deal. I continued to wait, with no acknowledgment from the barmaid at all, not even eye contact. After serving the customers sitting at the bar, and wiping off the bar, the barmaid began serving new customers that came in, and sat at the bar. Still no acknowledgment, no eye contact.... It was like I wasn't standing there at all. I'm hard to miss, I'm 6'3", 240# I looked around the bar area, and saw another employee standing there, so I asked her where do I pickup takeout orders, she replied "right where you were standing".. I said thank you, and returned to where it was standing/waiting before. Still no acknowledgment, not even a look in my direction. Finally after 10 minutes, an employee came and asked me if I was waiting on takeout, I said yes, and they got my order for me..... I prepaid, so had to wait for my order. And, as usual the food was phenomenal!!! However, customer service is vital, and that day it was non-existent...... With a simple acknowledgement, this review would've been just one paragraph!!!! Long time customer This was my worst visit. I ordered one of the November "specials." I know now why they don't list. For $32.00, I received 1 piece of catfish and 2 shrimp with rice and a side The shrimp combined were not as long as my pinky finger and about the diameter of an ink pen. The best steak sandwich I have ever had! Yes, it is a little "divey", the restaurant needs some updates. HOWEVER if you want great service, a meaty sandwich and an ice cold beer, this is the place. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon as we were coming back to Charlotte from Greensboro. Our server was a very nice lady with a fabulous manicure who was knowledgeable about the menu. We both ordered steaks and they were delicious. The little rolls they gave us were great too. No complaints at all and will be back when we are in that area! We've been to most steak houses in the area and my husband and I vote this best steak. I've gotten the filet and the beef tips and they are always consistently delicious. The bread is a warm, melt in your mouth croissant. The Caesar salad is the best I've had anywhere. The sides are perfectly southern cooked. The kids meals are hearty and lots of options. If you're not feeling steak, I have the chicken which was moist and tender and the Philly steak sandwich which was perfect. The staff are so friendly and attentive. The vibe is country and the music is county, which we love. It's always clean too! Highly recommend as this is in our top 5 restaurants in this area! read more

We stopped here on our travels home from Charlotte. It was off the beaten path for sure. Once inside we found it to be a local version of Texas roadhouse. We were seated very quickly and our waitress was very attentive. The food overall was good. The primary negative was that everything was very salty and the prices were expensive. I would say that for a smaller town it was nice to see a higher class restaurant available just wish it was not as expensive. The atmosphere was great and the staff was attentive to all customers. I had dinner here with a friend who was from out of town. I've always wanted to try this place; it looked so good. So that night I had the blackened shrimp with the wild rice and a side Caesar salad. The flavor on the shrimp was amazing! I would recommend anyone to try it. Also, our waiter from that restaurant was super nice, and I hope everyone that goes in here gets her. She made the whole experience better. She told us that she has been working at this place since it's been open, so for about seven years. We had VERY high hopes for this place. Got recommended by some friends, so we decided to try it out. Ordered a prime rib and it was absolutely disgusting and uncooked. I don't normally get steak house carry out, but I am getting over pneumonia and didn't want to cough throughout dinner at a restaurant, so I called in an order. If I hadn't had such an amazing dine in experience previously, I would never return after tonight's carry out. My Prime Rib was a pan fried rib steak-not a Prime Rib at all. Yes, I am very aware that they both come from the same cut off the carcass, but I wanted the oven roasted cut from the Prime Rib Roast-not a pan fried well done piece of steak. I ordered medium rare. I don't know where to start. I know Stay away!!!! Went there for my birthday dinner instead of longhorn steakhouse thought we would try something different and it was disappointing. Food was cold, small portions food prices do not reflect what is advertised. We were sitting at the bar and had to ask for silverware after appetizer was brought and bartender was on her phone at a customer table. Then while we were eating she told us we would have to move because some "regulars" were coming in and were going to sit at the bar. Mind you the bar is first come first serve. Not worth the price. I walked in and a hostess appeared within seconds to seat me. And once I was seated, the server stopped by within a minute or two tops. I would definitely give the service 5-stars. My server was very attentive and overall the staff seemed very friendly. Their bread is croissants with honey butter. My croissant was overcooked. It was overly crispy and just didn't taste great, and the honey butter was overpowering. I think it would have been much better if it had been cooked properly and regular butter was provided instead of whipped honey cinnamon(?) butter. I ordered a 6-ounce filet for $32, which seemed a bit pricy (because it was), but I will say this. If I've had a steak cooked as perfectly as the one I received, I don't remember. I asked for a medium and told the server I preferred my medium bordering on medium rare, and that's what I got. Seriously, it was the best cooked steak I've gotten that I remember. Unfortunately, it was a bit oversalted, and I didn't taste any seasoning beyond the salt. The garlic mashed potatoes were fine, but they were also over-salted (moreso than the steak). And I'm someone that likes salt. I worry sometimes that I like salt too much, LOL. I ordered onion rings for my second side, and I didn't eat them. They were enormous - the slices of onions inside the batter were at least one to one and a quarter inch thick - and I felt like the emphasis was on size instead of taste and proportion. I know this is a very negative review, although I'm giving this place four stars and rightfully so, but I just didn't think the food was worth the price. I ended up paying almost $50 for a 6-ounce steak with two small beers, and with tip it was $60. That just seems like a lot when all I got was a perfectly cooked but salty steak and two beers for $14 (I could've bought a case of Bud for $4 more and had 22 left over). I get that running a restaurant is hard, especially post-Covid and all that, but I'm not going to spend that much money if I can get a good (and better seasoned) steak 15 miles away in Salisbury for $10 to $15 less. read more

Went there with my wife on our wedding anniversary. It's an expensive dining outing for us and we go only 2-3 times a year. This time was disappointing. The salad consisted of ice-berg lettuce past its sale date, stale croutons, and skimpy serving of salad dressing. Unfortunate, because their salads were above average compared to other places we go. I ordered the beef brisket, what I have eaten in the past, and it too was disappointing. The helpings weren't as full as at other times and the meat had a great deal of gristle in it. Still good, but I've had better. My wife ordered the T-bone and enjoyed hers much more than I enjoyed my meal. The 64-millon dollar question. Would I go back? Probably, but I won't order a salad or beef brisket again. I may need to spend more to experience one of their steaks but it may be worth it....at least I will give them a second chance. read more

I had a very bad experience at Texas Tap house in Lexington,N.C. tonight. My steak came out over cooked and I sent it back and the manager came out with a chip on her shoulders saying my steak was cooked perfectly, but on the the contrar it was not cooked perfectly!! She talked to me in a very condescending way!!!!!! I did not appreciate her attitude and told her I did not appreciate her attitude!! I do not suggest this place!!
