We got quotes from a few places and all quotes were comparable in price. We decided to go with Windows Plus I suppose because we liked Todd, the sales person, also we were impressed with the quality of the windows and that the room was going to be framed instead of a patio enclosure. And we could not be more pleased with the outcome. I know another reviewer stated that it was all done right the first time, that is how we felt about the room edition. My husband is very particular and ALWAYS has a punch list. But not this time. Literally all windows, framing, caulking, installation was perfect (with the exception of a small defect in one of the screens). We have talked to our salesperson, Todd regarding this matter and he will come to take pictures of the room and said they will take care of that, which I don't doubt they will. They had to put a roof onto the back of our house. That was the first part of the project and that happened in early November of 2020. The roofing crew, leg by Daniel put the roof on/ framed the room and poured concrete footers for the windows in 4 days. They were meticulous, cleaned up each day, were polite, answered all our questions and accommodated our needs as they worked. They had to attach the new roof to an existing patio roof as well as the back of the house. Within a couple of weeks the old section of the roof began to leak, we believe due to them walking/working in that area to add the new roof. We called to discuss this with Todd and within a few days the roofers were back and repaired the leak in the old roof. So even though it was a mishap they made it right, right away. At this point they were able to measure for the custom made windows/doors. Once the windows came in they started installation on January 26, 2021. This crew, Brandon, Josh and Matt were as meticulous as the roofer/framers. Again, they could not have been more polite, knowledgeable and professional. They 3 of them worked 3 (10+ hour days) to complete the work. As mentioned above there was no punch list. Everything was done to perfection the first time around. Reason for 4 star and not 5 star review deals with company communication. Although all was done to our sanctification I had to call them to inquire about when the crews were coming. We had made arrangements with the Todd regarding the electrical package and had to get that worked out once electricians got here due to them having different information. The contract stated work would be completed in 12-16 weeks, which would have been by Dec. 19 and the work was actually finished on January 28, 2021. If the company would have called me to let me know they were behind, windows had not arrived, weather delayed work, Covid delayed work I would not have been as concerned but I had to keep calling to find out what was going on and to check on time frames. I do understand things happen but again if timelines had been communicated to me I would have been disappointed but would have understood and would have given a 5 star review. I would recommend the workmanship and the quality of the windows.

Sales rep was on time but I indicated I had a time crunch....3 hours later we got to the estimate..... an estimate for $54k. But if I agreed to purchase right then and there it would be $45k. And there were strings attached.....give 5 star reviews on multiple sights. When I said that was too expensive he made multiple other offers, finally saying $100 less than a comparable offer. Yeah, right. I was not going to decide that day. The next day an email, 3 phone calls indicating they had other deals available. I blocked them. Their pricing strategy is beyond irksome!

He was only moderately interested as he told us his specialty was "historic" preservation (sorry our house is only historic to our family). We were told we would be called to set up a visit for measurements followed by a quote. After two weeks and no call my husband called the store and was told we would get a call (last) Saturday and still nothing. Guess we'll move on. Would like to use this side of the state line, but what can we do. I spoke to a carpenter that has done some work for me in the past, and he suggested I talk to PC as they are a Andersen distributor. Stopped in PC with the idea I may have to buy a replacement window. I spoke with Sandra McClure and explained what was going on with my window. Once she narrowed down the exact model of my window, she took me to their window showroom. Ms. McClure pointed me to the Series 200 Andersen window and asked if that is my window. She was right on the money. At this point she starts disassembling the window so she could show me all the weatherstripping and gaskets. She showed me each one I should check. At this point we go back to the sales desk and she prints out a full schematic of my window and highlights all the pieces I needed to check. I had volunteered I thought I may have to buy a new window. Throughout our entire conversation she said I have excellent windows and she doubted it needed replacing. She kept saying she felt sure my window could be repaired without too much trouble. Additionally she stated any parts I may need she could get them for me. Not one time did she try to sell me a new window. I did ask for a quote just in case my worse fears were the case. So, I come home and start taking my window apart. Two of the main gaskets that seal the windows together are somewhat adjustable. I gently adjusted the gaskets and the window quit leaking air. Now one final small problem. As I was trying to tighten up the window latch, I stripped out the wood casing. So I call Ms. McClure and first thank her for her excellent guidance. Then I explain I stripped the screws on the latch. Yep, she had a fix for that too. Worked like a charm. In these times of less and less customer service, Ms. McClure and PC provided excellent service. You can bet if I need anything window related, I'll buy it at PC.

They next replaced custom interior door - also went great. I next had them and other vendors quote some window replacement. They were not the cheapest, but the quality of the door installs were so good, plus they were willing to work with aspects of my security system as well as change the window style from double-hung to casement, so I went with them. It was to be a 2 day installation, but in the middle of day 1, we realized some of the windows weren't manufactured as expected. I immediately contacted Steven, my sales rep. After we spoke for a few minutes, he acknowledged the issue and assured me they would work with me to come to a satisfactory solution. Long and short of it is that they did work with me and we crafted a solution that I'm very pleased with. Plus, I was so impressed with their professionalism that I've now ordered my remaining windows replaced with them. I've read a lot of reviews for many vendors where complaints were made, and often the reviews are negative. I'll say this - renovate enough and you will occasionally run into issues. It happens, even with good companies. But the difference between vendors is in how they handle those issues. The Door Store gets an A+ from me. The problem is when I contracted them to install a basement egress window. Very different experience here. I have tried to work with them on getting to a good conclusion, but i believe i am stuck with a shoddy looking window form the outside. Looks nice from inside at least. In short; -It took them much longer to finish once started than promised -My window well is crooked -The egress cover doesn't fit properly (looks haphazard) -My irrigation system is still leaking due to carelessness (not from the digging actually) Additional concerns; -Basement wall interior has many chunks missing from it now. (fixed) -Irrigation system cover damaged during backfill (dirt was just laid on ground, not on a tarp or piece of wood as I was told it would be). -Dirty/no post job clean up in basement. I removed the rubble myself, a mess still remains. -Instead of leaving the backfill dirt as promised, they took it all, so the soil around the window is depressed again. (still sinking and i have no backfill dirt) -My fence was not repaired properly from removal and damage done by backhoe. (fixed) -They tried to put the window in the wrong place. (caught in time)

Crew leader Alex was very helpful. My home over 100 years old and the basement was probably hand dug. My wall that needed service was made of stone, brick and mortar. Very pleased with our job.
