This is gel polish day 2 on my dominant hand.

Wait a few days before you review this place. My list of concerns has only gotten longer since my appointment two days ago. Bottom line - avoid unless you have no options and don't bother springing for the upcharges. When my mom and I walked in for mani-pedis, there was only one customer, so the ladies in the shop were immediately available to help us. I had some questions about what options were best to rehab my very weak nails and the one woman in charge gave me solid recommendations. The two women who helped me were nice; they didn't really engage with me verbally much, but that's ok. My concerns started to roll in as the nail painting began. I asked for gel polish on my hands and regular polish on my toes. Neither of the technicians were very precise with the brush and had to repeatedly clean up the edges of my nails either with their nails, scraping along the sides, or with a brush dipped in acetone. The latter option highlighted where the technician working on my hands had cut my cuticles too low, as it stung a little (and was later tender and swollen by the next day). With the brush, they occasionally took off too much and had to go back and fill it in again. This made the mani-pedi take much longer than I think it should have. Also, the end result on my hands specifically looked about as good as when I do it myself. The other issue with the woman who was working on my hands is that I don't think she was actually keeping track of the timer on the UV/LED light (which I'll say I was happy to see it was cordless, because the cords become cumbersome when you're sitting in the spa pedicure chair). She also didn't cap off the free edge of the nail. With an ending bill of $65 (plus a $10 tip) without too many bells and whistles (no designs or special requests), I expect it all to last. I specifically get gel polish because it's supposed to last and it didn't. By the next day, the index finger on my non-dominant hand was already chipped. Day two, the index, middle and ring fingers on my dominant hand are all chipped. There are various bumps and bubbles in the polish and it's not neat around the cuticle like I would expect a professional job to be. I've also had to peel the residual polish off the skin around the nail. I was only visiting the area so I'm really annoyed that I wasted my time and money and can't go back for a refund or fix. The only upside is that I've been looking for the right shade of blush for my skin tone and they happened to have what I've been searching for (and it's now on my toes and en route to me via Amazon). Skip this place ladies...

Very good nail salon, in my opinion. I have had fills by Nancy and pedicures by Tammy. Nancy is very meticulous but can also get a fill done pretty quickly. Their pedicures are very relaxing, they spend a lot of time on the massage (which is always a plus in my book). The most important thing to me is how clean the salon is. A lot of salons don't take cleanliness seriously. I always see these girls cleaning up right after an appointment. Another added benefit is their shellac Polish has matching nail polish colors (great if you want your toenails to match your nails). I would recommend to a friend or family member.

Scratched and the polish is coming off. 4 days after application.

I came down to visit family for Christmas and really wanted my nails filled. So I stopped by Americnails. It wasn't the best expericence. :( The lady barley spoke english.we talked for 5 mins about what I want and she still didn't do it right. She tried to charge me $65.00 for plain Matt black nails.she told me she could not change the shape. I just needed a fill and gel and it ended up being $45.00 she hurt me twice. She made me bleed and in the end my nails were not Matt. She promisted me but I still feel they are too shiny. She left bubbles on my nails and you can even see where she filled and filled down my nails. I guess I'm just lucky my nail guy is amazing and has need doing this for 10 years +

Uneven nails I asked to get fixed. Obviously didn't get fixed lopsided

I just wanna say that this is my first time here and sadly I won't be coming back (unless I find…read moreanother nail tech artist who actually listens to my needs). I only went to this place because I heard good reviews as well as it's the closest to my home. So I walked in having high hopes, and I even brought up a reference picture. After checking in for my appointment for a gel-x fill, I went to go see my nail tech and I went to say hello but she didn't say hello back. Whatever. So then I showed her my reference photo and I want all white. Now I understand if I couldn't see the flowers if it's the same white nail color, which is why she suggested a different color that I didn't even ask. Not even like a white purple/blue color just so we can see the flowers better. Also, I know I should've spoken up more, which I had three times that I want to be a classic white French tip with daisies. But she insisted on using a shade of purple that I didn't even ask for. But not only that, but I feel like she couldn't speak English fluently because half of the time she was speaking to me in full Vietnamese, which I had a hard time communicating. I honestly felt a bit peer pressure to have a nail design that I didn't exactly ask for and that's what I'm very disappointed in. When my nails were done, she then prompted me to go wash my hands, but never told me where it's at or didn't even point where the sink was so I had to ask another employee to find the sink. Now I don't mind the nails design itself if it was done better, even though I have spent $65 on it and honestly during the whole appointment I kind of felt uncomfortable even though I did speak up, but just not enough then I should have, but it also doesn't look like the picture I wanted it. I'm pretty disappointed with my appointment and I will not be coming back unless I have another nail tech who I'm pretty sure will do my nails more nicely design wise. This is why communication is very important during any nail appointment and I thought I have communicated my needs, but I guess it wasn't enough to the point where I was peer pressured to do a nail design that I don't even want.

It's a bit more old-fashioned - instead of folders of colors to choose, you select from their wall of polishes, many of which looked old. They have lots of well-worn towels and mismatched decor, so it looks a little rundown. But the ladies were nice and efficient. I went with my teenage daughter who doesn't prefer cutting her cuticles, which they respected. But then didn't offer any massage or scrubs for her either, which I was surprised by. The lady who did my pedicure offered a really great massage and scrub. Overall, it's a great time if you're looking to save on the experience and lower your expectations compared to other salons. I'm not a fancy nail person and don't use gel polish, so I like it for what I'm looking for. Will be back!

Lina had a great solution and did an amazing job matching it with an acrylic extension--you can't even tell in the photo. That said, if you're in a similar situation, I'd recommend asking for Gel-X instead of acrylic. The acrylic ended up feeling loose and didn't hold well, so I had to come back before leaving for a trip. To their credit, Sunny Nails squeezed me in the very next day. Another technician quickly assessed the issue, removed the acrylic, and replaced it with Gel-X (a full, strong nail--not just a tip). The result was flawless--she shaped it beautifully, and I was able to enjoy my trip with perfect nails. The only downside was the experience during the fix. The technician seemed frustrated, didn't respond to my thank you, and abruptly turned off the blue light and walked away without acknowledgment. It felt a bit uncomfortable--especially since I had already paid extra for the initial service and had to come back. Overall, they made it right, and I appreciate the quality of the final result--just wish the customer experience during the correction matched it.
