This is the best Italian restaurant in the area. I was a little confused with the decor, seemed more of a chalet than an upscale Italian restaurant. On Tuesdays they have pasta night where they have a pasta stations instead of the ordinary menu. You go up, pick the pasta, the sauce then toppings (Bread crumbs, ingenious). Best part, it is UNLIMITED. I also have had their chicken parm hero and pesto grilled chicken, both a hit. Excellent service! We sat outside on a beautiful sunny day. Our server Loretta was fantastic! Bloody Mary was fresh and spicy just as I like it. Zucchini chips are a greater starter to share at the table. Fries are double battered and extra crispy. Burger was good but not great. Same for the meatballs. A safe choice but not the best. Came from FL for a party & after reading reviews, had no idea what to expect. The special, chicken, prociutto, eggplant with mozarella in a brown sauce with mashed potatoes was amazing! This is one of my favorite places to eat. They bring warm bread to the table and infused oil to dip it in. I love the shrimp scampi. It is the best I have had. Last time I went, I was shocked with the taste of it. It was not good like it usually was. I hope it was a one time thing. I won't take away any stars till I go back. I am hoping this place isn't going down hill. The decor is nice and romantic feeling. The lighting is dim and music soft. The wait staff is always knowledgeable of the food and ingredients. Everything was ok here. This is more of a bring the family for an Italian dinner vs. fine Italian dining. The ambiance is pretty quiet and the Friday night we came they had no problem seating us as soon as we got here. None of the specials jumped out at me. My gf got the chicken parm and liked it. Nothing over the moon but not bad. I got pesto pasta with shrimp. The pesto was delicious but was irritated that I only got 3 shrimp!!! Commenting on previous comments, the bread they brought to the table was terrible. It was cold and overall quality of it was bad. This was the second time I tried this restaurant and still very disappointed. The waitress and staff were very nice but the food was not so pleasant.. We started with the tomato mozzarella salad.. They put about 5 cloves of raw garlic in it that there was more garlic than mozzarella. ( who puts garlic in a tomato mozzarella salad anyway). Had to pick out all the garlic before eating salad. Then comes my main course of grilled pork chop. I was unable to taste the pork over all the charred outside. I had burnt taste in my mouth the whole time.. My daughter had the penne alla vodka with grilled chicken and same thing with the grilled chicken, taste burnt (uneatable). I am not sure if they changed chefs but after giving them two tries I would say this would not be a restaurant on my list of places to eat anymore. read more

I was not please with this restaurant and it makes me very upset. I have heard only good things for my friends about this restaurant and went out of my way to try it. However, when I walked in I was very disappointed with the meal I received. They do have a fantastic price fixed menu that includes an appetizer, entrée and dessert for a low price. My boyfriend and I ordered the calamari baked clams. We were overwhelmed with how much breading was put on the fish and could not finish the appetizer. For dinner I got chicken franchese which is my favorite meal I was disappointed in the lack of lemon they use for their sauce. The chicken had a breading that just fell off and everything was lackluster. My boyfriend ordered a pasta dish and said that it was good, but nothing special. Impressed with the atmosphere. Small and intimate. It's a beautiful interior. We were served right away with warm bread and oils for dipping. True Italian flavor. We ordered the garlic bread sticks, an eggplant parm and francesce shrimp. The garlic bread sticks were cheesy and Judy the right amount if garlic. Served with sauce for dipping. The England was very good made to order. The shrimp are jumbo shrimp with spaghetti and a nice white lemon sauce. Not over powering. Service was very friendly. Very prompt. read more

We have driven by Amici many times. Tonight we finally gave it a try as we decided to have Italian. The atmosphere was nice. The staff was attentive and pleasant. The food was decent. After receiving our bill, we noticed we were charged 76 dollars for four drinks. My boyfriend and I had ordered two drinks each. A double captain and coke. We couldn't understand how we were being charged 19 dollars for a drink. We have eaten at many restaurants and have had this drink in many expensive establishments. We have never been charged 19 dollars for a drink. Or any drink for that matter. Ever. We questioned the waiter who said the drink was 13 dollars and the additional shot was 6 dollars. This seemed like a dealbreaker for us. We even told the waiter we would never come back, who didn't seem surprised. It's a shame because we liked the live music and had talked about staying for more drinks after our meal or coming back another time. Clearly that will not be happening. My boyfriend and I ate here for our 4 year anniversary and I always like to sit in a booth and since it wasn't busy, they cleaned off a booth that they were using for a meeting to make me happy! The food was perfectly cooked which I have yet to come across an establishment that has good pasta. The plates were so big that my meal stretched to almost 3 meals! This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants! I got the chicken Frances and my boyfriend got bow ties with alfredo sauce and meatballs! I have been coming to this place many times over the past 20 or so years and in the past the food was great. I just went there about a week ago and ordered my favorite dish linguine with white clam sauce, it was not the same as I had in the past. There was no clam sauce, there were chopped clams and some garlic which had some burnt pieces, the sauce consisted of olive oil. That is not how it's supposed to be it was bad. In the past when I ordered it there was plenty of clam juice to keep the clams and linguine moist and also there were 6 little neck clams in their shells on top of it not this time. I'm not sure if I will go back there anymore very very disappointed. read more

First of all, look at your cameras closely. You will see a couple who had the same dish and switch plates because I had a hair in mine. You will then see my husband pull another hair out of that dish! Then, if you look you will see myself get up and go throw up in the bathroom and sit sick until she came back with our bill. I didn't another bite or they food I couldn't do it even though I tried. Some people do not like to make a scene at a restaurant and quite frankly why would we order another dish when I was sick to my stomach over the first. I wasn't returning a full plate so I wrapped it up and tossed it when I got home. We aren't asking for money back so stop contact me on here. Lastly, we left a decent tip because I've worked in the food industry and the waitress was not the one who put the hair in our food. She didn't have the length or color hair so why punish her? I do not wish to call and discuss anything with you. Stop harassing me on here to call your business. I have the right to post what happened at your restaurant and if you actually checked the "cameras" you would see that is exactly what happened. 100% truth. I really don't care if you keep trying to get all your negative reviews removed- I already reported you to the Business Bureau. Going out to lunch and we decided to go here instead of Carnival. It was new to the whole group ( 4). Three house salads all got positive reviews. My Caesar salad flopped. Chopped lettuce stumps, maybe romaine maybe not, no leaves. Too much Parmigiana in a strange watery base. In a blind taste test not sure this would have been identified as a Caesar salad. The croutons were fresh though. As for the main course. One Pene ala vodka, no complaints. One chicken parm with spaghetti. Chicken was "fine" but the sauce seemed like a store bought low end jar. Two lasagnas, large size for a lunch plate. Overall not a bad entree. The sauce suffers from the same low end flavor that afflicts the spaghetti. We finished the meal with sorbet and ice cream. Nice finish to an OK meal. For $13 a plate, I guess you can't complain too much. But I'd pay $13.50 to get a seasoned sauce. read more

1st time at this establishment, we are full blooded italians looking for a good italian meal. Decor was rather strange and didn't seem like an italian place. It seemed as if we were eating in a barn upstate. The food was ok. Appetizers were portioned very small, but tasty. The dinner was fresh and cooked well, but a bit pricey for such a place. We moved out further east a couple years ago but decided to make the trip back to Amici tonight to visit one of our favorite Italian restaurants. I'm so glad we made the drive because it was even better than we had remembered. Both the service and the food are excellent, and we love the warm ambiance of the place. I had the lobster ravioli with asparagus and I have to say it was the best lobster ravioli I have ever had even compared to similar dishes at very high end restaurants. Our server Dawn and the rest of the wait staff were on top of everything. There are so many casual Italian restaurants to choose from on Long Island, but this is one that stands apart from the rest and at reasonable menu prices too. read more

Had dinner last night at Amici's table of nine. Service was terrible. Four of the meals were returned mine was an appetizer of eggplant the sauce over the top was like salsa and it tasted terrible when the manager came over and had to return the plates he was quite rude. The manager than brought over two large plates of deserts very nice but at that point we were all very upset and just wanted to get out of there. I for one will never ever go back. read more
