Been to Amici's three times now and I hate to say it, but I do think it was a little overhyped lol. That being said, it's still a great pizza spot! I just think when it first started getting popular, the 2 hour waits were a bit extreme. The pizza is good, but not "wait in line for hours" good I always get the vodka pizza and usually love it, but for some reason it tasted different this time, it felt less saucy than usual so I was a little bummed, especially because it was my first time bringing my friend here and it just wasn't tasting quite as I remember it. The Shirley Temple is always a must though! It's basically like any Shirley Temple you've had before, but honestly that's what makes it good. No need to fix something that's not broken! We also got the fried mushrooms which were just okay to me. I mostly enjoyed them dipped in ranch. My friend got the buffalo chicken pizza too, and while I'm personally not a huge fan of that kind of pizza, they seemed to really enjoy it! Love this place! We went for sisters birthday last year and she requested it again this year! Staff were kind, patient and accommodating to our party. Pizza was good! Too greasy for my taste but we also tried this caesar salad pizza heavenly lol I would try to add chicken next time but very tasty. Shirley temples? Keep them coming. This is one of my go to spots for a slice of pizza. I usually order the two slice special but today I decided to go with one slice, side garden salad, and fountain drink for $10.50. My salad was huge. They have great lunch specials ranging from $7.50-$12.99. Pizza slices are always hot and cooked perfectly. Not soggy. Customer service is always a 10. They don't sell slices after 3 pm, so if you're headed there at night, know you're in for a bigger pizza. Pretty solid pizza, pricing and cool employees. Got a large half/half pizza. Yeah, they do that. Half Il Bianco and half Buffalo chicken. An order of fried raviolis as well. Two diet cokes and a Peroni draft beer. The large is 18 inches and 8 slices. The pizza was very good. Especially, the crust. The crust is some of the best NY style you'll get in the desert. Had to stop by and try this viral spot!! Love the inside and the overall environment is it very home-y and welcoming. A great place to celebrate after a baseball game or even church. The service was good everyone was very friendly. I had to start with the Shirley and wow it was probably the best I've ever had. The food; pizza and wings are the stars here, we wanted to try a lot of different items so we could get a good idea of the menu. The sticks did not have the best cheese pull. Personally not my favorite. The pasta also was extremely simple. Good idea for someone picky. The sauce was fine slightly more elevated than a jar but not by much. This place is extremely popular- it was PACKED on the Friday night that we can in. It is also very small inside, with no outdoor dining options. We came in with a party of 11 to celebrate a birthday. *Please be warned that there are no reservation or call ahead options. We were given an estimated wait time of 30-45 minutes upon arrival. Once our party was finally called to be seated, the total wait time was 1 hr 10 minutes. There is also not much of a waiting area inside the restaurant, only 3 benches out front. We were disappointed to see several other large parties being seated ahead of us, when we arrived and put our name down first. Once we were finally seated, we ordered right away (we had plenty of time to scan the menu as we waited) and our food came out in a fair amount of time, considering how busy the place was & how big our party was. Our waiter was not the most attentive. I never got asked if I needed a refill on my water, and it would have been very difficult to ask him for a refill, because he was so preoccupied with everything else he was doing. We all enjoyed looking over into the kitchen area & watching the pizza crust be hand prepared. One thing that we did find a bit disturbing was that not everyone preparing food was wearing hair nets. For example, there was a man with a huge beard making dough, he did not have a net on his beard. All in all, the service was not good at all, there were some health concerns with beards not being netted, BUT the food was outstanding. Well worth the wait. The pricing was more than fair considering portion sizes & everything tasted fresh. For future reference, I would not bring a large party here. I met a friend here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and there was plenty of seating, but it got busy very quickly. I got the Shirley Temple, because I saw on social media that it's something to rave about, but honestly didn't taste any different than a regular Shirley Temple. Our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive, and she was so patient with us because my friend and I hadn't seen each other in a long time and we were just yapping the whole time. This place is 100% worth the hype. My friend and I went around 3:30pm, which was in between lunch and dinner - PERFECT timing. Last time I tried to come around dinner and the wait was too long so I was so hyped I got to try it this time. We started with Shirley temples which were chefs kiss. They were sweet and crispy, so perfect. We got the garlic knots with mozzarella on top and they were so cheesy and savory. I was in heaven. The marinara sauce that came with for digging was also impeccable. For the star of the show, we got half the meat lovers pizza and half the il Bianco pizza which was the perfect combo in my opinion. We got the extra ricotta on top of the il bianco which made it ever better. The pizza was cheesy, savory goodness. I was obsessed with the crust and the seasoning on it. On that first occasion, I tried out the pepperoni pizza with jalapeños 8.7/10 and the Mac and cheese bites 4/10 and fried zucchini 9/10 Shirley Temple was just a Shirley Temple Second occasion, I waited about two hours .. I discovered this place from the one bite app. I didn't bother watching the video review by Dave Portnoy prior to going nor did I know that any tiktok videos. There was an hour wait. Keep in mind this was about 7pm on a Sunday. We started with Arancini. We got Italian Beef & Giardiniera, Spinach & Ricotta and Mac & Cheese. It was ok but I wouldn't get it again. Main course we got a large cheese pizza, lasagna and vodka penne with meatballs. The pizza was good but I was expecting more. Biggest gripe was the huge bubbles. I have never in my life had so many in a pizza. I worked at a few pizza joints in my day. Bubbles = bad. Were I am from this pizza would have never been served. The table next to ours gave me a slice of their pizza that had salad on it. Not my thing but I like the thinking outside the box. They were 86 prawns so we got meatballs instead. Meatballs were not good. How they make a red sauce as good as they yet the meatballs lack as much as they do is beyond me. Penne vodka was alright. Not a reorder. Lasagna was amazing. Hot all the way though and the sauce was perfect. Gooey melted cheese everywhere. Unfortunately it was very small. If it was twice the size I'd probably have to order it every week. I'm always down for trying a new pizza place. We were aware that Amici has a lot of TikTok fame so coming on a Friday probably wasn't wise. The hostess advised us the wait would be about 20 minutes, then our super nice server warned us that pizzas might be a bit slow coming out. (They were! Amici has tons of people ordering take out.) Another worker came by during dinner to check on us and thanked us for our patience. Those little touches go a long way to show they care about the customers. So- the food. Amici has somehow made Shirley Temples famous. Everyone around us was ordering them so we caved in too. They're really just the overly sweet drinks that have been around for decades- lol- but they give you a nice big glass. We ordered the garlic knots with mozzarella. I thought they were decent but I'd hold the cheese next time. Another patron waiting with us recommended the Grandma Pizza (square pizza, mozzarella, fresh garlic, basil, marinara sauce) and I'm so glad we listened. I can't describe it properly. My husband and I took a bite, locked eyes and went "Mmm, yeah, oh- that's really good!" It's just that thing when the crust, cheese and seasonings are all working together just right and making you happy you came. We ordered a piece of the New York Crumb Cake to go also (imported from Queens). It was a solid dessert but nothing I'd order again. I want to preface that I'm not a huge Pizza person. But if I have a good pizza I am typically impressed. What impressed me about this place is you can order one pizza and make it three different flavors. Which really helped, since we wanted to try multiple things but we all had different taste buds. We started off with the fried zucchini and mushroom appetizer as well as the garlic knots and the fried ravioli. The fried ravioli was probably our least favorite, the garlic knots were good and fluffy, and the zucchini and mushrooms were average. Our first thin crust pizza was pretty darn good. But it was so thin where we could not hold up the pizza and the moisture made most of it soggy, and I hate the feeling and taste of soggy Pizza. Good flavor though, oh and the dough! Our second pizza was the thick one. I loved how fluffy and great their dough tasted, but felt like they definitely skimped on the toppings and the cheese for the price. Bechamel lasagna was okay. I did appreciate their long peeled carrots in my salad though and the raspberry dressing was really good. Alot of the staff kept expoing to the wrong table (ours) which I thought was kind of funny because they don't have many tables in there. We were here at lunch time and decided to just get slices which we chose the pepperoni , Hawaiian and caeser salad as well as the grandma slice . Overall the pizza was great the pepperoni was nice and crispy and my daughter said she really liked the caeser salad pizza . The Grandma slice was good but I think a little too much garlic for me . I didn't know anything about this place, but my wife is much more plugged-in to social media than I am. Based on a recommendation from a customer who was waiting next to me, we ordered the Grandma pizza and 6 garlic knots with cheese. I figured getting big pizza for a few bucks more would ensure leftovers. Boy howdy... the big Grandma pizza is a square that is 18" on a side and we only ate 1/4 it in the restaurant. So, I had breakfast, lunch AND dinner. (16 roughly square slices about 4.5" on a side) The place was busy, both inside and via pick-up orders, so they let us know it would be a wait and gave a pretty accurate estimate of 20-25 minutes. Once we were seated, they let us know that the food would also take a bit longer due to all of the other orders. I appreciate the communication. Apparently, Shirley Temples are a thing here. (confused old guy). To see what the big deal was, we both decided to give it a shot. Wow. I don't think I drink that much sugar in a typical week! They're served in a large cup, glowing bright red, with ice and a cherry. If you REALLY like sweet... like you add sugar to Kool-Aid or thought Jolt cola was a good idea, you'll probably love it. I don't think I need to do that again, though. The knots were good and had a pile of melted cheese on them, but I probably don't need them next time. A Caesar salad seemed to be the more popular starter (to kill time while waiting for pizza) order at nearby tables. Noted. The Grandma pizza was great. It smelled amazing and the crust was crunchy on the edges and bottom with plenty of sauce and cheese on top and a generous amount of basil. It was simple but delicious. After a few pieces, I thought it was just a little on the salty side, but that may have been the sweet drink affecting me. I couldn't determine whether it was the crust, sauce, or cheese that was expressing the saltiness, so I'll blame Shirley. The next day, we reheated it in the oven and it was still good. Our waitress was great and attentive despite having a bunch of tables that were turning over pretty regularly and having to deal with the longer than usual (?) wait times. Another staff member came to our table to check on us and thank us for our patience, which was nice since it did take a while. I guess there's a lot of hype about this place and there were several people taking photos of their food. The pizza we had was very good, so we'll be back, though probably not on a weekend and hopefully when it is a little less busy.
