This is a pretty good pizza place, but I feel it has gone a bit downhill in recent years. I used to eat here very often and the pizza was amazing, but once the facility changed ownership, the food has become just average. The cheese pizza is a bit greasy and lacks sauce, the Sicilian is average but has hard crust, the chicken parm pizza is very good, with tender chicken and a great sauce to cheese to crust to chicken ratio, and the Margherita was very fresh and tasted pretty well. However, even though I enjoy a bit of sweetness in the sauce, this experience I found that it was a bit too sugary. I feel that instead of using sugar to sweeten the sauce, a bit of carrot purée would help make it more subtle and improve the consistency. Going to Amici's is a hit or miss at the moment. When they hit, it is a great pizza experience, but unfortunately this time it was a miss. read more

Do yourself a favor and skip amicis. I ordered some slices that were overpriced and appeared to be ancient.The sauce was almost nowhere to be found and lacking in flavor. The new owners are much less friendly and seem to care much less about quality and service and more about making an extra buck. read more

Not sure what happened with my order this evening but Amici really dropped the ball on the Lasagna meal I had ordered.... Not only did it take twice as long as what I was told on the phone but I stood inside waiting for the Lasagna to be prepared all the while the manager keep saying.. just two more minutes...two more minutes I apologise for the delay..... So I finally get the meal for my wife and I and brought it home and when I took off the plastic cover I knew this wasn't going to be good... Really disappointing. I know it's a Friday but they had twice the amount of time to get it right and they couldn't. All the while I was waiting for my order I see orders going in and out and people coming in to pickup their orders and I figured.... sometimes perfection takes more time but not this evening. I think this will be my last Friday order unfortunately. Buyer beware. read more

This is not a typical food review, I apologize for that. This is a review to address the outstanding integrity and business side of this restaurant. My son accidentally called a take out order this Amici instead of our regular Amici in West Nyack. Realizing the mistake, I called to pay for the order which I wasn't going to pick up (much too far of a drive) since it was my mistake. After all of the closings of restaurants during this pandemic it was the right thing to do. Amici of Peekskill thanked me for calling to clarify the mistake and would not accept payment. I offered half. They accepted nothing. We have a long summer left of "quarantine-ish" lifestyle... and with 3 kids, I see a road trip to Peekskill to show my appreciation. I readily admit that my reason for going here was the positive reviews by my fellow Northern Westchester Yelpers. It's lunch time so there's no crowd and no problem finding a seat. The pizza lived up to my expectations with the regular slice being fairly thin crust and perfectly done. My other slice, I think it was Grandma (although this term seems to differ slightly from one pizza joint to the next) was not quite as good although the basil was obviously fresh and imparted a noticeable flavor to the slice. If I'm in the neighborhood, I will def be back, but frankly, this part of town is not on my normal travel path. read more

1 teen + 1 tween suffering from a bad flu + 2 adults debated what to have delivered for dinner. I'm not sure why we didn't immediately decide on pizza as it is always a crowd pleaser. Although this crew had lived in Peekskill for about 20 years they did not know that Amici delivered. The order: A large grandma's pie I wanted Sicilian (square) but they could only do it round. Not sure if the do grandma's pies out West but here's what it is homemade sauce (not gravy), fresh sliced not shredded mozzarella, and fresh basil leaves. Perfect ration of sauce to cheese and the pie was cooked crispy. A medium pie 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 Hawaiian - yes it broke my heart to order Hawaiian but the boy child gets what every he wants. Ham & Cheese Calzone it was ok but not what I was expecting---a bit doughy for my taste. Yes it seems like a lot of food for 4 people but the kids had to have cold pizza for breakfast and lunch the next day. The only down side was we ordered on a Friday night and it took 11/2 hours to get our food. So be warned if they're busy you will have to wait for delivery. read more

Awesome! Great thin crust pizza! Was looking to try places in my new neighborhood and the Yelp reviews caught my attention on this one so I decided to try it. We got the "fisherman's pizza" with clams, calamari and shrimp. Loved it! I agree with the other reviewers that this is a close to NYC pizza as you will find in this area. I've been searching for thin crust pizza for a while and this one is definitely a winner in my opinion! I'm thinking next time I will get just the plain cheese. Reminds me of being in NYC again! The staff is very friendly and the place is small inside, but it's a great spot to grab a couple of slices or maybe a pie to go. UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! I've been to this local Cortlandt Manor pizza joint slash Italian bistro previously, but decided to come again since our group heard about their new management (also it was in close proximity whilst we were debating dinner options). There are two sections of the establishment - the classic pizza parlor side and the restaurant; our group was primarily interested in the latter. As the door was broken to the restaurant side, we entered through the pizza part and proceeded to stand in an awkward hallway next to the kitchen for about 10 minutes while our table was "prepared". Once we were seated, service proved to be irreparably sluggish. From taking the order through getting the check, there always seemed to be an inexplicable delay that came to annoy some of the more impatient and dramatic among us (me). At the end of the meal, we asked the waitress for the check. Five minutes later, she returned, but somehow forgot that we asked for the check. Small moments like this added up so that our quick, casual Italian dinner turned into a nearly three-hour affair. That being said, the food and atmosphere were stellar. The place was clean, tastefully decorated, and comfortable, and the food was well-apportioned, well-seasoned, and well-received. I particularly enjoyed my penne alla vodka for its unconventional spice. The gnocchi with pesto sauce also looked and tasted great. The fried calamari appetizer had good flavor, but was slightly too chewy for my taste. Overall, a quality establishment with clear potential that may need to work out some kinks in the service department - perhaps this will come with experience as the new management settles in. This is a great pizzeria that has been here a long time. Twenty years ago I lived nearby and ate their food several times a week. Now I have moved back to the area and I'm glad to see they are still here, although I believe they've changed ownership. Ordered a large pie with half pepperoni and two 20 oz root beers for delivery. Was told it would be 45 minutes, but the pie did not arrive for an hour and 20 minutes and there was only one soda. The pie was cold and I called to complain. They apologized and said they got very busy (as they do on Fridays, Saturdays and a Sundays). They credited my card for the order and I reheated the slices in the oven. They were excellent. I'd certainly order again based on the quality of the pizza, but I'll pick it up if it's on a weekend night. read more

Every other time we order from here, something is wrong. The pizza isn't too great to start with, but we like their wings... when they get them right. Their bbq wings are usually delicious, and a great option for people who don't like spicy food. Except for when your local pizza place thinks it would be funny to prank you and just put bbq sauce on top of hot wings. Seriously??? Probably won't be ordering from here again. When I moved into the area 20 years ago, in order to put something in the movers and our stomach I noticed Amicis close by. Bought a few pies and well the rest is history. It seems as though every time we order through Grubhub we face the same issues. We ordered two entrees and requested pasta and salad but only salad was selected. We received our dinner and it had two salads even though we had selected spaghetti and penne in addition to salad. They truly need to fix this. When we called to explain we received salads and no pasta, they stated that it was either or. I expressed that we selected pasta and salads, there response was, "we see here that you ordered a salad." Which we did in addition to the pasta. They basically gave us the, "well I don't know what to tell you" response. So instead of rectifying the situation, they were completely content with what had just happened and basically said, "oh well you got salad." So we now have chicken parm and eggplant rollitini entrees with two salads. Thank you for your lack of customer service and I would advise ordering from Nonna's in beach shopping center as they always rectify the situation. Moving up here, from the city, It was reallllllyyyyyy hard to find a good pizza place. You get very spoiled with good pizza and really appreciate a good slice! Been going here all my life while I live near many other pizza places. The pizza is always delicious and the chicken alla vodka is AMAZING, only place I know that portions the meal out to be 60% chicken and 40% pasta, very worth it. only complaint is if you eat inside the place (idk if its one of the owners, worker, or just the local dude who hangs around the place all day) but this one guy can be obnoxious making it uncomfortable. p.s The White Slices or Pie are great and not oily or as greasy as many other establishment *Cough* forno's... read more

Recently moved to the area from Queens and after 10 months, I think Amici is the best slice in town. Great sauce, thin crust with cornmeal, not overcooked and not overloaded with cheese. Don't get me wrong, there are some other good places around here (better than a LOT of places in the city these days) but it's the sauce here I think that wins it for me. read more

if you're looking for a great straight up ny slice in peekskill, this is the joint. nothing fancy but very solid ny style thin crust pizza. if you're in the mood for a little more upscale environment to dine , then go Ravina next door for dinner. it's actually the same kitchen and same food as Amici, but the dining room is set up nicer. the catering from Amici is really good too. we had them cater a party, and everything was excellent. highlights- meat lasagna, chicken parm, and bruschetta. read more

The food here is always solid. The service has always been lacking. Nine of us went out for a Sunday dinner, unfortunately the heating system was down but we decided to tough it out. Despite the restaurant being practically empty the service still sucked. A little nasty man named Kias was our waiter, we saw him three times, when he took our order, delivered our meals, then the check with a 20% gratuity added. Some meals came out and the rest came out 8 minutes later, nothing like eating together. Never did he come by to check on our drinks, did we need pepper or cheese on our food. My family has been going to Amici's for the past 15 years.. Pizza was always outstanding. Recently unbeknownst to us they sold the business never said a word to all their loyal costumers. As most of our friends & neighbors also went to Amici's we were disappointed.
