I decided to take my daughter here to eat during our quick weekend trip to Key West and I have to say that it was the absolute worst Mexican food we have ever eaten. The server was okay, but the food was terrible. We each ordered one burrito. They put everything in it instead of on the plate like most Mexican restaurants do. There was no warning. So there's this spot in Key West that serves some pretty good tacos in all honesty. It's rather small and cramped but right on the main street for all the spectators and passerbys to see. It's a tourist attractions just for the fact that when you're on vacation you're going to get hungry. The interior is small to say the least. A few tables. Most seating is along the bar style tables where you look right into the street. Square footage is lacking but they manage to make it work and you can definitely get a crowd in here. The service is decent, they can be a bit hard to manage and mistakes can happen when they are really busy. Not really a deal breaker. Service was great during my visit. The food well it's mostly Mexican food. Some of the dishes feel a bit fusiony with what they are offering in the ingredients but as long as it taste good I'm all game for it. The menu isn't too big but you know what exactly you are getting by reading it. Try the platters by the way, my recommendation. They have a drink menu. As you're in tropical paradise per day and on vacation feel free to indulge yourself. Overall, the food was good. The price was a little high for Mexican food. I'll take that in account for the alcohol actually. It's a good stop for bite to eat regardless. If you don't mind the tight space, it's well worth the visit if you're in Key West. read more

Oh gosh - where to start...We had the worst service experience there! Starting when we ordered margarita's and receiving them unsolicited in the touristy plastic souvenir cups - handy as they were pretty expensive. We were never given a choice and we did not order them. Then our orders got served wrong - which can happen but the server insisting on that this is what we ordered .. not so good. It's not easy to find Mexican food this good in Florida. The chips and salsa/guac appetizer is one of the best I have ever had. It's that good. The tacos were also top notch. The only weak link was the chorizo potato taco, which was a bit lackluster and bland compared to the carnitas or barbacoa versions, though still tasty. The key lime pie dessert (which allows you to try two of Key West's best pie makers) was a stellar and fun way to finish the meal. There's just nothing bad to say about the food or service...and dining outside on a Duval street sidewalk while people watching was just fantastic. Solid 5 star experience. read more

First I'd like to say the food was great. Service was good. So I do understand with its location that it can be very busy. My boyfriend i were sat i guess you can say inside along a rail that faced the street which was a good spot. The rail had 6 stools that was close together my boyfriend and I was sat at on end not too long after another couple was sat at the other end which was fine until about a little longer they sat another couple right in the middle which is way too close during a pandemic. I looked around there was plenty of other seating available other than stuffing a third couple in between. So there is no social distancing in this place? This was one of the first places I tried in Key West and it was so good I intended to go back, but there were just too many places and too little time for us. I like the way the seating is set up with two rows of bars facing the street. I think there was also some tables, but I can't fully recall. We were not super hungry, but it was good to order a couple of tacos and beers - it was just enough and man was it good. We had the carnitas, the fish tacos and shrimp tacos. My favorite was the carnitas the pork was tender and flavor full - just melted in your mouth. They were all seriously delicious. If it wasn't spicy enough or you wanted to add more flavor there is a selection of mild, medium and hot sauces that you can't add. The beer selection was good and I like the plastic cups they were served in - you can see the saying on the cups in a pic on here. I didn't order them, but the nachos looked massive and they gave you a ton of toppings - that alone could probably be a meal. Like most good mexican places the prices are pretty inexpensive, which always is a plus in my book. When I make it back to Keys this is one of the first places I will be returning to get some more of those delicious tacos! read more

We ordered the kitchen sink nachos (three meats) for $15. It was enough for two people to share as a meal. The only bummer here was that their margarita is not made with tequila so be aware. What a fun, little restaurant to visit when you are on Duvall St. My friends and I decided to try this place while we were walking down the strip one afternoon. We were looking for a neat restaurant to enjoy some snacks since we had a few hours before we had an event to attend. My husband and I shared pork tacos platter and sodas. Our friends tried the nacho platter. I have never tried pork tacos before so I was hesitant, but they were delicious!!! We were served four tacos pilled high with meat and fresh pico wrapped in a fresh, homemade corn tortilla. We chose to sit at the outside bar facing Duvall Street while we waited on our food. There was a large group of us (8 to be exact), and we were greeted immediately. Our server brought us our drinks very quickly, and we were served our food in a very reasonable time. I didn't get a good luck of the restaurant, but from what I could tell the inside was very clean and inviting. The host was very sweet and even told us that she could walk across the street to let us know when our seats would be ready (which was only about a five minute wait). The waitress was attentive and always checked back with us to make sure everything was going well, as it should be in all restaurants. The food was amazing and the restaurant was clean. They're #veganfriendly and also environmentally friendly with boxed waters... LOVE IT! Seriously this was one of the better Mexican restaurants I've been to and I live in Miami so there's a lot to say for that. Another great Mexican place to feast down in KW right on Greene Street. This place came recommended by a local actually. We rode our bikes to Amigos and were very lucky to get a table outside right away. No wait at all considering it was pretty busy. Seating outside is very limited, but great for people watching. We both started off with their large margaritas, which was a no brainer. We each had two and both of us thought they could use an extra shot or two of tequila, but when we asked our server if we could order extra, she informed us that they were pre-made and did not have any tequila to offer. They just aren't as strong as you would think for a drink that costs $10 a pop. Boo. However, the food was amazing. I am a sucker for loaded nachos and these were hands down the best nachos that I have ever had. No joke. Those guys in the kitchen know how to fill it up. We added on the chicken for some protein and topped with cheese, black beans, pico de gallo, corn salsa, sour cream, extra jalapenos, and cilantro. My mouth is watering just writing this review. The nachos are pretty big, so we were already slightly full by the time we finished, but went ahead and split their roasted corn on the cob and shrimp quesadillas. HIGHLY recommend! Having tried Cuban cuisine for few days in a row, my stomach was longing for some tacos. And I found Amigos on Yelp. Looking for street parking can be somewhat a challenge around this neighborhood. By default, they served their tacos in their homemade square tortillas. You could see how they made those tortillas at the taco assembly station. When biting into the tacos, you could instantly tell the difference between their tortillas and the store bought ones. They were just so tender and soft, and somehow had a fluffy texture. As for the toppings, you could honestly go with anything on the menu. Between my boyfriend and I, we tried six different tacos, and everything tasted amazing. The seasoning was right on point. And the cooking of the meat was just perfect. My personal favorite had to be the stewed beef one. It was not easy to elevate such a classic combination, but they did. One bite, and you would have the bold flavors exploded in your mouth. TACO PERFECTION! Oh and one more thing... since this place is extremely popular and is not really sufficiently staffed, be ready for indifferent service. The reason I said that? After placing our order, we waited for about 15 minutes to just have a cup of water. During that time, I talked to two different people about that. But nothing happened. It was just like we were forgotten. On top of that, when we were having our meal, my boyfriend found a piece of steel brush in his dish. After talking to a guy who seemed like the manager, we were told that it was pretty common, and that it was not a big deal at all. For the whole time, he seemed extremely impatient.
