My experience with Amor Plumbing was amazing. I had an issue with a tankless water heater at my mom's house, that was still under warranty. Rheem sent me the part and referred me to Amor Plumbing. I called them on a Saturday when the part arrived, and an answering service took my message. Amor Plumbing called me back Monday morning to schedule an appointment. They scheduled a time to come out same day, which was great because even an extra day or two without hot water during the winter is tough to live with. Luckily my mom doesn't live too far from me so she had a place for a warm shower. Not only did Ted replace the broken part, he tested the heater, checked the temperature of the water throughout the house, and even made some recommendations. Total white glove 5 star service. I will be calling Amor to come out to install my tankless water heater, and hopefully we will have Ted again. read more

Ted and his assistant Mike arrived on schedule to do a Rheem hot water heater warranty replacement at my house. This was my fifth water heater installed in the past 40 years and today, they did an excellent job surpassing the previous four installations. They advised me to buy certain types of hot/cold water flex lines and avoid other popular brands based on their experience. Mike checked every water connection by hand and then the gas connection with a machine. And then Ted checked every connection again. They also thoroughly cleaned up and took away all the debris. I wanted to love this company because they are local to me. I wanted an estimate for a new install for a tankless water heater. Recommended as a Pro Installer on the Rinnai website. First I tried their online job request for an estimate. I gave details and photos. Supposedly, you get a quote in 60 seconds. Nope, nada. More than a week goes by and I call and get the answering service. I said I will call back the next day not so close to closing time. I call back, and get the answering service and leave my information. I am told I will get a call back the same day or the next day at most. That came and went, plus another day without follow up. Maybe they are great as plumbers, but I will never know because they lost this customer. They get one star for having a polite answering service. read more

I had a really experience with Amor Plumbing. My water heater made loud horn noises, the manufacturer recommended replacing control valve and burner. So I hired a licensed plumber to do it. After replacing both parts, the noise persisted. Plus there's gas smell. Ted from Amor came and rescued me and my family. He found gas was leaking. He fixed all the problems we had been having, plus explaining his findings and process very clearly. I would recommend Ted to fixing difficult plumbing problems. Ted did a thorough and complete assessment, while Tonya worked with the manufacturer (Rheem) on parts and warranty coverage. Ted's skill is like that of a surgeon: careful, analytical, detailed and accurate. His competence, knowledge and experience are amazing. He has an outstanding level of commitment. TL;DR: Outstanding water heater company. Knowledgeable and professional. My water heater started to leak and needed to be replaced. I called another certified installer to perform the setup. The provider conned me: installed wrong burner unit, made five fake appointments and later tried to bill me for the appointments even though my tank was still under the warranty and all repairs would have been covered by the manufacturer. This has been going on for five months. Out of the desperation I called my tank's manufacturer , State Waterheaters, A.O. Smith Company. They recommended AMOR. AMOR quickly diagnosed the problem, and repaired the problem. I couldn't be happier with AMOR, their professionalism, technical expertise and responsiveness. read more

On Tuesday early morning, one of the two water heaters in my house - the larger 75 gallon model - started leaking. I shut it off. When I woke up, I noticed on the label that the manufacturing date was 1/13/2016. I called AO Smith to inquire about warranty. It turns out the unit had a 6-year warranty, and it was just 3 months short of that. AO Smith referred me to two plumbers. One of them didn't accept calls. The other was Amor Plumbing. Amor was able to make the determination that the unit had failed, and was eligible for a free warranty replacement. I know that they spent a lot of time dealing with AO Smith to process the claim. Amor had availability the next morning. Out of 5 labor plumber quotes for picking up the new unit, hauling it off, and installing the new one, Amor came in on the high end, but one of the others was at the same number. I chose to go with Amor because it was easier as they had a direct line to the manufacturer. They showed up right on time the next day. There were 3 men initially. They did some code upgrades. They were in and out in less than 3 hours. My husband and I both took showers in our upstairs master bathroom today. I hope the replacement water heater will last at least as long as the old one. Unfortunately, even though it has a manufacturing date of 9/17/2021, the unit warranty does not start over, it still expires on 1/13/2022. The labor is warrantied for one year by Amor. My next water heater probably won't be an AO Smith, but I hope that's a long ways off. read more

I called them on 11/15 to schedule an appointment to install Aquasana whole house water filter. They said they will get back to me within a day. After not hearing anything, I called them on 11/17. They said they will get back to me within a day. It is 11/24 and no word from them. You guys may be busy, but you need to make sure that you get back to your customers on time. Edit - I read some other reviews and some other people had similar complaints. Amor's response was that "you connected to our live answering machine". My water heater stopped working one night after hearing a loud boom sound coming from it. I reached out to Amor Plumbing via phone and their online message form late Wednesday night. First thing Thursday morning, I received both a phone call and email from Tonya letting me know what my options were. Tonya looked up my water heater's serial number and was able to verify that it was within the serial number range that had a Whirlpool burner / gas control issue. Within 3 hours of speaking to her, a technician was at my place starting his work. He drained out the 50-gallon water heater to remove any sediment build up and also replaced the burner and gas control. Super satisfied with his professionalism and quality of work. Definitely would recommend Amor Plumbing too anybody with any water heater issues. read more

Zero stars. I got referred to this company because my water heater is still under warranty, trust me DO NOT go with this company it is not worth it! Their service was horrible and I felt completely violated, the office manager Tonya, was aggressive, rude, and demeaning. You don't have to take my word for it, look at her responses to others on this yelp page, she never has the "customer is right" attitude and always points the finger in a mocking way. I had made an appointment for a Friday and they never arrived, called several times that day with no return calls. When I finally got ahold of Tonya on Saturday she said I was informed that my appointment was cancelled Friday and would not provide proof of this and refused to acknowledge their mistake. On top of this there were several issues that we were left with when they were done. Tonya claimed they were extremely busy and would not return my urgent calls for days on end. With all that being said about Tonya, I would like to say when Ted came out to our home he was knowledgeable and nice but he left us with more problems, for example he didn't tighten a valve under our sink properly causing it to leak endlessly and causing damage. Tonya refused to hear us out about it, instead she started yelling at us. People make mistakes, even professional plumbers but this company will not acknowledge their mistakes. I also believe Amor Plumbing ILLEGALLY recorded my calls without my knowledge, Tonya frequently said over the phone and over text that she has recordings of some of my calls, I believe I was never informed the call would be recorded. CIPA regulations require businesses to ask for consent before they monitor a call, as well as recording it. They are violating the California Invasion of Privacy Act, I tried to reach out a while back to discuss this in a professional manor but they will not respond. read more

Had a Whirlpool gas heater recall and they are the only one serving my area. repair done but was charged additional $180 for service which is not a issue, but after the recalled parts replaced the heater makes a loud fog horn sound whenever it kicks off. Called them and ALWAYS can reach the answering service and after 2 weeks I finally got a call and they said they had to check with manufacturer first, that was now 6 weeks of nothing from them, even though I called and asked for services and was only able to leave messages This will be a first stop of making sure I put the review to let people aware of this practice, next would be BBB or even small claim court, this is just ridiculous read more

I was referred to Amor Plumbing by the manufacturer of my water heater (State Water Heaters) since my water heater stopped working last Thursday. Since it was still under warranty, State Water Heaters helped me troubleshoot and diagnose the issue as related to a recall of that particular model. They quickly overnighted the parts and all I had to do was schedule Amor to be on site to perform the labor. Amor has an answering service and I didn't expect a call back since I had called late in the day on Friday. We played a bit of phone tag on Monday but I was finally able to connect with someone from Amor late in the afternoon who was very well experienced in helping diagnose and validate the issue. I didn't get her name but she was very professional and gave me all of the information up front like needing to drain the water heater and examining it for potential scale which would incur an additional fee to flush. I appreciate that honesty in a company and being transparent about what can be done since this helps set my expectations on the repair that is taking place. After we went through that, she helped me set up the appointment for the very next day in a window that fit my schedule. The very next day the technician, Jerry, called me before he arrived but I had scheduled someone to allow him into the house. After the job was done, Jerry called me back to share that the repair had been successful and that there wasn't any further issue. Had them repair a water heater today. They called with a 20 minute advance arrival time, arrived in the time period that we had scheduled and the water heater tech was nice and professional. My water heater was still under warranty with AO Smith and I needed to use an AO Smith authorized repair company. They changed the thermometer. They did up-sell me on a larger drain pipe thing to easily remove the sediment $130. Lesson learned San Jose has hard water and I really did need to flush my water heater twice per year as good routine maintenance. The tech showed me the giant rock sized sediment in my 4year old water heater. The only downfall was I couldn't get same day service but they did schedule me for next day. Fortunately it was part of the recall from A O Smith Company so I only paid for the gas line upgrade. After sever contacts with Alpha Omega Plumbing Inc which I never receive any reply from this plumbing company. I called AO Smith water Heater Company again about their recall. They gave me Amor plumbing's number. I was able to schedule with Amor plumbing right away. They told me in advance if need to replace the drain vole there will be extra charge. If I could give a zero star, I would. After being referred to them by the A.O. Smith recall customer service team, I called and talked to the receptionist two times. Both times she said that he could give me a call to schedule an appointment. Yet, nothing happened! Not even a phone call to say that they are overwhelmed by the volume of service calls and can't service my hot water heater! If they aren't calling people back, why take down the information to give false hope that someone will contact you? Just a simple "We are sorry but we can't help you" would be nice so I don't have to keep on waiting. I could just move on to call the next plumber. It's a common courtesy! read more
