I hired Wizard Plumbing and Drain and Simon Fuller came out to power jet and unclog our kitchen line to the main. He was very thorough and professional throughout the service. We also added a service of conditioning our tankless water heater. I would recommend him as your plumber. read more

Our 30+ year old Grohe shower faucet no longer worked, water wouldn't come out of the shower head when turning the handle. I called Wizard since we had used them a few years ago to replace a water heater, and set up an appointment not realizing they had merged with EJ. The tech arrived in an EJ truck and looked behind the cover plate, took a few pictures and texted them to another tech asking him if replacement cartridges are available, the other tech immediately said no even though no part of the faucet had been removed. The in-person tech then quoted $2,200 to replace the valve, which meant grinding the area, and to replace the faucet handle, and asked why I wouldn't immediately schedule it. I then called another plumber who came out, pulled off enough parts to identify the cartridge number, which Grohe confirmed is readily available. I paid $210 for the replacement cartridge and $385 for it to be installed, a total of $595. My advice is to get multiple quotes unless it is an emergency and if it is I suggest contacting someone else. read more

I am so upset. They reached out to offer flushing our water heater. We confirmed over text to meet the 5th of the month. Later we received a text that they're coming on the 4th and to be prepared to pay upon completion. I had to call about the date being wrong. Then they moved it to the next day. I originally was given an 11-1 window, then told it was 11-12 or 12-1 and we agreed on 11-12. No one showed up. I texted and asked and they said they would check. I haven't heard back. I called 3 times and I keep getting transferred and get voicemail. My husband rearranged his work schedule to be home. Competence is important, courtesy of technicians is important. But if you cannot keep a scheduled time and you cannot communicate that you're late or why - there's no point in bothering to schedule at all. Wizard Plumbing has been our go-to for any plumbing issues for years. Professional, knowledgeable, excellent communication and customer service. Now, I would never use them again. read more

Verified on their website and during the call to set up the appointment that a home repipe quote was free. Within the first five minutes the technician told me he would have to go under the house to run a diagnostic (nothing is broken- we are just looking into repiping our home) and that would cost around $200. When we questioned the cost he said $100. When we asked why there is a fee when I was told a quote was free- he replied that he had driven for 45 minutes and "needed to get something." Then he said he could knock off $30 more. We said we were no longer interested- he went out to his truck to call his supervisor. He returned and said he could go under the house for free, but we said we were all done. I do not recommend a company that states one thing on their website and over the phone, but then tried to charge for a service that was promised to be free. read more

So I needed to replace a pressure regulator valve and all nearby galvanized piping. A plumber came out and I received a free estimate online a couple days later. I look at the attached estimate and based on the SCOPE OF WORK, I went ahead with the job. The day off, the plumber arrives and I was told after he begins removing the old PRV that the only thing included is the new PRV and the hose spigot, nothing else listed in this stand alone estimate. I was frustrated but decided to get the replacement complete. The plumber then spend an hour failing to install the new PRV and says that it needs more work in order for the job to be finished. Feeling the pressure of not having water, the guy upsells me $450+ for what turned out to be the hose bib which should've been part of the original estimate. This is after he drives off for an hour to get parts and he comes back and tells me that he had to rent a tool for the job and that I'm lucky he won't be charging me. Ended up paying double for the work and parts that was actually provided. Customer service line also leads to a voicemail system 9 out of 10 times I called. read more

Well, another decent company down the drain (pun intended). They helped me fix various plumbing issues from garbage disposal to sinks to toilets over the years but they have become more and more shady. They are constantly aggressively upselling, to the point where they are borderline lying about problems. Their prices have also gone up significantly. Terrible experience. I worked with them before and was pretty happy until recently - they got me a technician with bad attitude, very salesy, who constantly tried to upsell me and wanted to replace the whole water heater, LYING that the needed parts are not produced anymore, etc. Flipped flooped once I showed the parts are readibly available for $30 (!). He did not want to do the work, quoting for it 2x of the same work I've done with them just two month ago. I called their customer service the same day and they agreed it was was a very poor experience. They promised to promptly address and call back. NOTHING. A month later, they are not picking up my calls anymore, not replying to emails. I hope business owners at least reading these reviews because nobody else seems to care about business there. For several years we recommended Wizard. I will no longer use them. Their last visit, they sent a "tech" who was most definitely not a plumber. I had a backed up kitchen drain that they had recently charged me a fortune to power clear (hydro something) yet here I was with another stoppage. They gave me a high quote but also would not guarantee their work so I sent them away. I called another plumbing company I had used before and this guy was A) fantastic B) diagnosed the problem and didn't agree at all with Wizard C) cleared it and stayed an extra 10 minutes to be sure it was really clear which was great cause it backed up again. Loyal customer for 10+ years- completely let down!!! I have been using Wizard Plumbing since 2013 and have spent a lot of money with them over the years with my 2 fourplexes in Burlingame but after this last experience I won't be calling them again. I scheduled an appointment with their AI assistant "DANE" and the plumber never showed up. I called the office and was told by their AI answering system called "DANE" that someone would get back to me-no one ever did. Icalled again, spoke with a live person this time and still received no follow up. This is completely unprofessional. After more than 10 years of being a loyal customer, its unacceptable to be treated this way. If you value reliabitlity and basic communication, I would look elsewhere. read more

As in my previous experience from 2022, they were prompt, easy to deal with and got the job done right. In this case, the job was a non-functioning garbage disposal. They got it working again without replacing it. But the charge of $385 for what was 10 min work was high, and it would have been $1200 to replace the garbage disposal compared with $500 I paid three years ago. I know we have inflation and tariffs but this sounds way beyond reasonable. Be careful. read more

I called them multiple times to try to get a quote for a standard water heater replacement and they repeatedly refused to provide that information. All they wanted to do is push you to schedule an in-person appt. I made it as basic as possible to ask about a standard installation with no complications and a specifically sized heater and they still wouldn't quote anything or connect me to someone who could provide that information. While they provide a free in-person consultation, that just becomes a complete waste of time for both sides if their estimate is significantly higher than comparable competitors. It's pretty hard to believe that they're not even willing to quote their standard rates. Seems shady to me, so I will call a competitor who can be more transparent. read more

Came and did work for us to cap a gas line and everything went well. A few months later we were having hot water heater issues and they literally quoted us 9k to replace a tank hot water heater. I was at the gym so my wife was dealing with them. If I was there I doubt they would have price gouged us like that. We contacted another plumbing company and got a bigger tank and pipe work done as well for 1/3 of the cost like it should have been. Even if we were getting a tankless upgrade and new pipe work it shouldn't have been more than 4/5k. These ppl clearly tried to get over on us read more

They deserve zero stars. I gave them one because I needed to. They advised me to redo my whole sewer system and a complete sewer lateral for $87,00. (I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. I told them I could not afford this. They offered me another solution that was not needed. Before they began. I told them to stop the project. This was after they inspected my sewer system and installed a clean out. I did inform them that I hired another plumber. I guess they never made the connection that they weren't coming. Never let me know about permits that they had bought it or about the inspector coming by. This was done by Shante. I never told him I was going to go ahead with the project. His communication skills are nonexistent. I will never use them again. Be cautious about the company if you are planning on using them. I hope things get better for them. I really hate to take a business that gave a 5 star experience and knock it down a few stars, but my initial review is overdue for an update. We had a great experience when the business was newer and got great personal service from its owner. But along the way we had some mishaps including a major sewer line project that involved digging up a newly landscaped backyard. There were two sewer lines exiting the back of our house and one was overlooked. So, the second sewer line was closed off. This lead to water backing up. Wizard Plumbing was called back to dig up our landscaped yard a second time, run a second new sewer line and replace plumbing under our house. The final cost was about triple what we had originally been quoted. And the yard looked like it was overdue for major landscaping. We've schedule several minor follow up service calls since then and the quality of the service varied from very professional to inexperienced. Some of this seems to be attributed to growing pains from rapid business growth. read more

Wizard plumbing is an honest company that stands by their work and I can't recommend them enough. It's scary trusting a plumbing company - this is one you can trust 100%. I had wizard plumbing out to my house to fix a broken sewage line almost two years ago. Their work was great and it was an overall great experience. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I needed to get a sewer lateral inspection with the city and my inspection failed. The company that did the sewer inspection basically said that whatever plumbing company I used would find a way to get out of the warranty they gave me, as most are untrustworthy like that. NOT WIZARD PLUMBING! Wizard plumbing stood by their warranty and went above and beyond to help me. They fixed the warranty issue and helped me get my building permit with the city. Save yourself the $$$$ and hassle and just call a different plumber, I cannot recommend Wizard Plumbing AT ALL :( Called them out on a Sunday evening for an emergency main drain line blockage in my home, after 3 hours onsite with a drain snake they couldn't solve the issue (hard blockage) and said they needed to come back first thing Monday morning to use a camera scope and then excavate the blocked pipe. We were left WITHOUT a functioning toilet or shower in a 1-bath house (and paid $975 for the sunday visit) (the plumber who showed up was nice, the only positive aspect of this experience) Called them back Monday morning when no one showed up at the designated time and was told my appointment had been moved to the afternoon without anyone notifying me, even though they were aware this was an emergency issue. They had no explanation for why my appointment was moved and no idea why i was told they'd show up in the morning. Horrible communication and customer service! I had to scramble to find a different emergency plumber who could show up in the morning, after I found someone else, Wizards plumber called me to say they were at my house ready to work. I told them they were already fired and that I'd found someone else to do the work. So Wizards is incapable of communicating with their customers AND their own employees! The best (worst?) part of all of this is that my replacement plumber was able to actually resolve and fix the issue with just a drain snake in 20 minutes, no camera scoping or expensive pipe excavation required!! Had I let Wizards continue with the service call they would've been excavating my yard and tearing up the floorboards in my house for NO REASON AT ALL!! He was calm, patient, and went through everything methodically and made sure the issue was fully resolved. The pricing was extremely reasonable. Later update: please check recent reviews. Apparently, my experience is fairly common recently. Do your diligence and check... something has changed at wizard.... The joy of having children around is having clogged toilets often... here I am again trying to fix a clogged toilet on early Friday morning. Called in the morning at 7:30am and was told someone would be here between noon and 3pm. They also mentioned that they are now having a membership program that the technician could explain to me live. The technician would reach out to me to confirm exact timing. About 2pm. No communication yet. I called again. They mentioned they would follow up. Past 3pm, someone called and apologized. They were so busy that they can't find anyone for a small job. Realistically, they can have someone over on Sunday or Monday morning. To fix a clogged toilet, it takes less than 30 min. I thanked him, hang up and called another company. Someone showed up within an hour, fixed my toilet nice and clean and charge me about the same price. I am not sure whether the membership program is now the main driver for the insane delay, or the scale of my job is the problem. Just to share the experience here. read more

Generally we use wizard plumbing. Never had a bad experience until recently. We had a leaking faucet. I called, and asked for the earliest availability and someone was sent out the next day. When I called, I said our faucet hose is broken and needs to be replaced. I knew the brand of our faucet, and the problem. So that's the backstory. They send someone out, he comes out and says it's going to be $350 to diagnose the issue( again, I knew the issue) but if that's their rate I'm not going to fight it. He proceeded to tell me that my faucet is dated and parts are unavailable. Also that our shut off knobs don't shut all the way and need to be replaced. I said I don't think that an issue as we've never had a leak prior and maybe the water he heard running was the dishwasher that was going. He called a few plumbing stores, said we couldn't get a replacement hose as they don't exist. I do have text message proof- and that we needed to buy a new faucet. Okay cool. I agreed. He said the turn around time was 3 weeks with the possibility to be sooner. He said he'd send a photo of the new faucet so I could approve before purchasing. Mind you our sink is leaking. So 3 weeks isn't a quick solution. Now it's about 5pm, assume he's off for the day, and decide to chat with the manufacturer of the faucet. Right away, I send him a photo- and he says that hose is xyz, it's available and here's a discount code. HONESTLY not even 3 minutes into a chat and the hose is available. Then he proceeds to tell me, guy plumbing has it in stock, and I should call them. I call guy plumbing- they have the part, they schedule an appointment for early the next morning. They show up and within 15 minutes the leaking hose has been replaced. Nothing is leaking, the shut off valves work fine- and ultimately in less time and money to FIX THE PROBLEM than the diagnostic charge from Wizard. This hasn't been my previous experiences with wizard but if this the nonsense they're sending out, upcharging clients and lying- I'll happily take my business to honest, quick and far cheaper places like GUY. So after 1000s of gallons of water wasted. The problem is solved and we won't be using wizard again. read more

This time I am not happy at all after I called Wizard plumbing. They told me it was a free estimate but instead charged me $140 diagnostic fee which disappears after I buy service. However the service was comically high for a job that should not cost as much. I don't appreciate the price guaging and the way I was conned out of a diagnostic fee. Wizard was super responsive and great about following up on my initial problem description, getting the information and scheduling a technician asap to come out and take a look. My problem was a leak that cost me over $1300 in the previous month water bill and trying to find the source of the leak. My housekeeper showed them the location where we thought the leak was since it was an area in my yard that was always pretty wet. They told her that might be it but that they could come back with a leak detection machine to find the definitive leak. That would cost $1300. They charged me $99 for the diagnosis even though they didn't actually diagnose anything with confidence. By contrast, Handy plumbing came out a couple hours later, immediately turned off the water to the irrigation system and suggested I have my Gardener fix the irrigation leak since it would cost me much less if he did it. Handy charged me $0 for the visit. I totally recommend you take your plumbing needs to Handy! The right team for the job. read more

I've had a great experience with this company in the past, but had them put against recently and the prices seemed really high and the plumbers weren't very knowledgeable. The basic things requested were done well, but I later asked my handyman and he would've charged 1/3 the price. So make sure you need the services of a plumber specifically or you're likely way overpaying. Then, for the main reason I had them out, they weren't able to fix, saying they'd need to bust open walls to try and find the issue.
