Amore has been around forever! Three star rating because the pizza is just bland now. (It use to be very good). I'm not sure if they changed how they make their dough or what but the last several times I have ordered Amore the crust is just blah. Amore is one of the few places that offers free delivery with no minimum and they do get the pizza to you quickly so that's a plus. Two stars. On for delivering exactly on the minute that was promised. One more star for the pizza and its perfect mediocrity; for its razor sharp normalcy. Reviews here likening Amore to New Haven pizza are obviously written by anyone that has never been to new haven, as this pizza is neither flat or wood fired. Instead, the pizza is the typical small town, floppy, quality ingredient missing, type that you can find almost anywhere. With that said, the wings were weird. To make wings, somewhere along the cook they must be deep fried. Normally the process is fry-sauce-bake, in case anyone at Amore reads this. These (I think) were either boiled or under baked, and notably this is the second time I have ordered them. The skin was floppy, the meat was slimey, and the sauce was obviously put on after these wings were 'cooked.' For the record I got a large cheese pizza, a medium pepperoni pizza, and 8 soggy wings. If you vote independent and wear graphic printed ties, the pizza is for you. If you enjoy slurping the skin off you wings you are disgusting, and will be in heaven. read more

I am sad to say that I tried again and it failed. I ordered a pizza last week extra cheese and it was perfect. Cheese was browned and the dough was perfect crust and all. I WAS impressed but then my daughter and I ordered the same exact type of pizza this week and it was so undercooked that the cheese barely had time to melt. The inconsistency is profound. If they made a mistake once or twice it would be fine. To err is human. But when it becomes a hit or miss everytime you go then there has to be something wrong with the management. Either they made their money and just don't care if it fails or not or they have become complacent to the quality their patrons once enjoyed. I used to have the utmost respect for the way this place was run and rarely ever had a bad experience. If i could give it zero stars i would, i just ordered a pizza for my mother's birthday 10/28/19 and while i was eating the pizza i saw little legs in the corner of my eye, upon giving it a closer look there was a spider inside my pizza. Now it's 5 o'clock on my moms birthday and me and my mom can't stop dry heaving. So disgusting i will never ever return. read more

This place is A-ok! We found the listing on yelp, and since they deliver and had several good reviews, we thought we'd give it a shot. They under promised and over delivered. They said 40 minutes for our medium magnifico pizza and diet cola (a local brand - awesome!), and it got there in under 30 minutes, just like their site says. The pizza hit the spot. Amores is my Go-To pizza place in Wallingford. They always deliver faster than they say. I usually get a pepperoni pizza but as of late I get the broccoli rabe which is very decent. Amore pizza in my opinion is the best pizza restaurant in the Wallingford area. The cheese they use always tastes great, along with everything else on the menu. My family had been ordering from Keith and his staff since they opened in 1995. I can honestly say that once you have this pizza, you will become a regular here. Forget it. Worst pizza place in town.he usual place I order from isn't open on Monday's. Havent ordered from here in awhile and I remember why. Pizza was delivered cold. Asked for pizza well done and it was half cooked. Along with they never told me that their buffalo chicken pizza is just their BBQ chicken pizza with added buffalo sauce. Who does that? Pizza was watery too. Prob from the cheese. Called to talk about it and she just said that's how we do it here. Want a credit she said? That's it. No offer to remake it or anything. My personal favorite of Wallingford's big three - Amore, Hometown, and Napoli's. I'm a fan of the classic cheese pizza and this place delivers! Always fresh; thin, crispy crust, melted gold cheese, and delicious tomato sauce - all in perfect proportion. Staff great; prices good; and delivery always prompt. They only have Foxon Park soda, too. Although I would prefer regular Coke and other brands, I know my opinion is rather unpopular, and I'm just fine with drinking Foxon Park! read more

I grew up in Wallingford and have lived out of country for many years. It is really hard to get good pizza overseas. Anyway, I was really happy to come visit my hometown and finally get some good pizza. I went to three other places and the pizza was Ok but not memorable and I was beginning to think my childhood memories of good CT pizza as something I just built up in my mind and maybe it was not that much better than the stuff I got overseas. Then on my last night here we ordered a meat lovers and clam casino pizzas at Amore and it totally restored my faith in CT pizza. This is a very good pizza. You can tell the tomatoes are really fresh and ripe in the sauce. The sauce has a good flavor to it because of the fresh tomatoes to me. The crust is light, not too thick, and not crispy (except for the end of a piece, but that is normal). The cheese is really fresh and the pizza is not greasy at all. We really like their pizza, but lately it has been impossible to order from them. So much background noise. Can hear every word being said over there, even on other calls, but then they claim they can't hear me. I know there is nothing wrong with my phone, so perhaps if they didn't have so many people trying to take orders so close to each other and didn't blame the customers for their inability to hear clearly, it would be a better experience. Had take out delivered on Sept 13 and torn on if I would order from here again. It was just ok pizza. The half veggie and cheese was good and would probably order it again but the peperoni and bacon was overloaded and very salty. Also when I ordered lots of background noise and the lady taking order had a hard time hearing me. I think this led to them forgetting the soda. The delivery guy did come back with the soda and two free bottles but at that point we were almost done eating. For one large pizza, one medium pizza, one salad and one bottle of soda it came to $40.00 so price wise ok. read more
