went in for the first time and should have walked out immediately but did not. The place was a mess and it was filthy....floors covered in dirt and counter tops covered in dust....and that's UP FRONT where acustomer can see it....made me wonder what the back of the house was like! Also an old dirty motorcycle parked in the restaurant!!! Never again....and the pizza tasted awful and lady at front was rude and arrogant...when I suggested she needed to look at the floor., she refused to come out from behind the counter and then said "Well what do you want me to do?" Their menu is not updated online so when I was placing my order, they had to correct my wing count and go over pricing. When we went to pick up our order, workers were sitting around without masks on inside and there was a state-wide mask mandate. The inside has a very strong, old grease smell that stayed with me until I took a shower that night. Now onto the food. We ordered the buffalo chicken wings medium. It looked like they covered the chicken wings in a breading or batter and deep fried them. They were so soggy and rubbery when we ate them that I just couldn't get through one, unfortunately. The texture was just off. My friends were able to continue to eat them atleast. The pizza is okay. If we go back, I may have to try extra sauce because they barely put any saice to begin with. The pizza had a smell of the old grease smell in the air too which is odd. Seems like they get good service, despite my review. This has just been my experience. read more

Had a ricotta, basil, tomato white pizza from here last night. It was good! The crust was hand tossed and especially good. We really liked that the crust was hand tossed and not one of those preformed crusts. They said 25 minutes when I ordered and it was ready in less than that. read more

if I could give 0 stars I would. we ordered 2 chicken parm dinners and 1 veal parmigiana. They come with salads and bread. They are located 10 mins down the road from where I live. We ordered at 7:30 when the food finally arrived at 9:00 yes an hour and a half to travel from 10 mins. I opened the bag we had 3 salads but only 1 dressing the wrong one at that, no bread, and 2 veal 1 chicken parm which also was wrong. When we called we were told they had run out of bread, a something they should have mentioned when we ordered. They also said they had a new cashier which I have no idea how that affected my order since I wasn't eating there. Basically they made excuses that really are not my concern. This is no way to run a business and I won't be ordering from there anytime soon. read more

Came in tonight 12/29 and ordered a steak and cheese with grilled onions (had to say it 3 times) and a plain cheese pie, the lady at the counter could not care less and had a very bad attitude! Told us it would ready in 20 minutes. Walked back in to get my order and she gave me the steak&cheese and when I asked where my pie was she acted like I didn't order one?!?! Called for a grandmom pizza . Menu states fresh plum tomatoes ,basil, and Mozzarella slices . Received tomato sauce which guy on phone says plum tomatoes are in sauce, zero basil and half mozzarella was not melted. ALL Italian sauce is made with plum tomatoes so when you say PLUM tomatoes I expect actual plum tomato slices in pizza. I grow San Marzano plum tomatoes so I do know tomatoes. After getting 3 deliveries that were cold when the tourists came they also charged my card 2 times for the same order and tried to make me feel like I did something wrong. I ordered a pizza and it was awful. I called to see what could be done and they offered me a credit. I took them up on that credit tonight. I waited an hour and a half for my pizza, and when I got it , the box had literally been folded in half. I accepted the pizza and gave them a call to let them know the situation. I was put on the phone with the "owner" who had a serious attitude problem. I explained that I wasn't looking for money or another pizza, I just wanted to communicate the issues. He told me "don't come here anymore" and hung up. I grabbed the pizza and headed over to show him first hand what I had received and asked him to remake it. He wadded up a $20 and threw it at me. One the BEST pizza places at the beach! Sometimes ya just need a break from all the Grotto's! They're quick with pick up orders (we've never tried their delivery). Pizza is traditional and tasty each time. I'd recommend time and time again. OH, and their BBQ wings are delicious! read more

I have placed delivery orders before and never had such lousy customer service, The guy who took my order tonight was very ignorant, couldn't even let me get out of my mouth what I wanted to order before he was saying is that all.....is that all....is that all. I ordered the ham & Cheese sub with Tomato, Lettuce & Extra Mayo, did not want onions which he said comes with it and they do not, hardly any mayo on it at all. I also ordered a 2 liter Pepsi, he said we have Pepsi products but did not name what they had though like others have in the past. A rainy, miserable night at the beach and I was in the mood for a pizza steak. Most of the places we normally go to were closed so after checking out some reviews we decided to drive the couple of extra miles to Lewes and check this place out. They have really good prices, especially for the beach - $8 for a 12" sub and they have great specials every night of the week. The pizza steak sub was pretty good as were the fries but in the grand scheme of things it's not worth going out of my way for. The staff was friendly but their posted hours can be hit or miss so call before going. The place is located in a strip mall and the parking lot wasn't very well lit so be cautious if you go there in the evening. read more

After a 2 hour drive I entered the restaurant which has 2 UNFRIENDLY NO RESTROOMS SIGNS, and asked if I had lunch would I be able to use the facility. Delivery is ALWAYS a problem because the people answering the phone are incapable of writing down the order correctly. I repeat it multiple times and they still get it wrong. If I could give this pizza shop a minus number I would. I stopped in on the way home and ordered an Italian cold sub and french fries after I paid the $12.00 with a credit card I asked the man if he could please put hot peppers on the side. He said if you want hot peppers they are 35 cents extra, pickles are cents extra. I gave him 70 cents along with $1.89 for a small fountain soda. When I got home and opened the box that the sub came in the roll was stale and there was no oil on the roll. I called the shop. Very rude to customers. we called and ordered a large NY style pizza for pick up. Our order was LARGE PIZZA - HALF PEPPERONI AND HALF MUSHROOM. He was very short on the phone and said "20 minutes" and hung up. Our pizza had mushrooms and pepperoni one one side. The rudeness to my wife along with the almost cooked pizza is enough. We are done with the joint. Simply awful. Place does not look very clean either......I would say filthy. read more
