This seems like the place to go after a high school game. The place is large enough to fit groups of people. The owner was a little caught off guard by me taking photos but I explained my mission and we had a quick chat. The rest of the staff were cool and helpful. I went there tonight at about 5:30PM to order a few pizza pies for my 23 students, to bless them with a holiday pizza party to no avail. I stood there in front of about 5 workers who basically ignored my presence for about a good 5-10 minutes. They saw me, and most of them glanced into my face, but never asked me what I needed! So I looked at my wrist watch, turned, and left to go to Pizzaiola in N. Babylon, which is more near the Elementary School where I teach. My girlfriend and I (repeat customers) ordered a $40 'garbage pie' and called to speak to someone because we werent satisfied and got the garbage owner. He told me to get lost and "go to Joe's" from now on (we will) or the Pie at Salvatore's, The Slice etc. there are quite a few places to get a pizza in Bayshore and not have to deal with low IQ and attitude. Had my first taste of Amore at a friend's house when she used them to cater a birthday party. The penne sauce was just like I remembered and one of the best I have ever tasted. The garlic knots were so delicious I didn't get to snap a photo before finishing them The buffalo chicken slice was HUGE and packed with chicken and flavor. I only tried a piece of meatball from the hero because I was stuffed, but it was delicious as well. Looking forward to trying more items on the menu especially the potato and egg hero! I don't typically like to bash places on yelp, and consider my reviews fair for the most part. The restaurant industry is challenging enough, and now with all the hardship as a result of the pandemic times must be really tough. That being said, I've eaten Amore many times over the past two years, both their pizza as well as the catered food. I work for an outpatient oncology practice and we receive catered lunches from pharmaceutical reps quite often. Amore is one of the preferred vendors (for reasons I cannot quite understand) so I'm extremely familiar with their food. I feel that the quality of the food is so poor across the board. The ingredients look and taste as if the are straight out of a Cisco box. There is nothing wrong with using prepared ingredients on your menu, however food from here just feels egregious. I know taste is very subjective and from what I've taken from other reviews, some people truly enjoy the food here. While I don't agree, I can respect the subjective nature of eating out. So I just wanted to take a moment to express my opinion about this place. Located in Bay shore, this place is within a couple miles of several exceptional places to eat. Being on the Nassau/Suffolk border of Long Island I cant help but wonder how this place can serve the food they do and remain in business. The pizza and catered food both lack the flavor and quality that is to be expected for Long Island. Average Italian American food is abundant where we live, and there's a bunch of standout places as well! Outstanding upside down pies that are just loaded with cheese. Excellent sauce, and plenty of it. The dough is nice and sweet, thin and crispy. The regular pie is a good standard rendition. The meatballs and sausage are heavier on fillers than I prefer, but they don't skimp on anything else. The daily blue plate specials are a bargain, and they always have good coupons out there. I was at Southside Hospital waiting for hours on end and got super hungry. So what's the answer to that? Pizza. This pizza place was super close to the hospital so I decided to give it a try. I placed an order for a whole Buffalo chicken pie since there was a couple of us at the hospital waiting. Since it was a nice day and I was really bored, I decided to walk it to the pizza place and it was only about a 10 minute walk. Definitely some sketchy houses on the way there but it was okay lol. The staff was really nice and I liked how they had flags supporting PD and FD. They have a lot of tables to dine in also. The buffalo chicken pizza was to die for! Loved this place. Clean and inviting as you walk in the door. Fast paced pizzeria with a lot to offer. I was working and got a couple of slices for lunch. On the money. Fresh with little grease. Hardly anyone on staff wears masks and the people working there walk around behind the glass by the pre-made slices without a mask on. It was obviously a busy Friday afternoon and when I got there 20 minutes after ordering over the phone, my small order (salad, pinwheel and one slice) still wasn't ready. Then they didn't have the kind of pizza my coworker ordered, so I had to call back at work to ask her to make another selection. And I waited longer for that one to come out of the oven. So I got a salad and it was terrible. The chicken pieces were chewy. Looked like they just put two huge handfuls of mozzarella stuffed on top of a salad that had feta already. This place was better than mulberry st but I found the quality of the chicken to be low on the pizza. Not that it was fatty, but it wasn't good. Not nearly as good as the chicken in the chicken parm. It was also too wet of a pie. The slices were all totally floppy and drooped, dropping all of the toppings on the plate. I like a thicker, doughy crust, a slice with some support and I like delicious chicken on my pizza. This was sort of a mess. Not bad though, just not good.
