The pizza here is always SPOT ON! We tried hot honey pepperoni, another similar with sausage (OMG yum!), and a Caesar salad wrap with cheese baked on the outside(I'm hooked). Staff is wonderful, they bring the food to your table and they are patient and help answer any questions you have. There are two sides to the pizzeria, the front where you order and seating, and a second room with seating. There are restrooms as well! By the way, it is always super clean when we visit. read more

Stopped in on a whim while waiting for an appointment on a late Saturday afternoon. Much larger inside then I realized and very bright, clean and airy. There is a large counter with many different types of pizza, I tried the Grandma and it was one of the best versions I've had. Thin crust, nice and crispy with just the right amount of slightly spicy sauce and cheese. I noticed they were doing a fundraiser for a local veterans organization selling their margarita pie by the slice for $1 or a whole pie for $5. I bought a pie to take home. When I tried it later that night, even reheated it was terrific! Also nice thin crispy crust, just enough sauce with fresh mozzarella and a piece of basil on each slice. I had an event catered on Sunday, May 25th at my home. One of our trays, Endless Summer Shrimp Pasta, was way too salty. Everyone took one bite and put it down. I called the restaurant on Monday and spoke to the manager, Joey. He immediately said no worries, we will credit your account for the $75 for the tray. No need to bring it back. He apologized and said they will investigate the sauce. I can't say enough how I appreciated that. Our family uses them frequently and will continue to do so. Every time we go there, the staff is super friendly, food delicious and very clean. They are running a fantastic business and happy to keep supporting them in our town as well as the other locations they have. Thank you for your professionalism. Honestly super surprised by this local spot! It used to be Pizza Parm which I was not a fan of at all. The pizzeria has exceptional speciality iced and a solid plain as well. I tried the hot honey with pep (pepperoni) and it was delicious as well as the bruschetta slice. There were a lot of tomatoes on it so if you're not a fan keep that in mind. What brought me to The Pizzeria was the social media hype. I met a few of these influencers at a combined Yelp event. The Yelpers sat at one side of the room and social media folks had their own table. Fast forward a few months and I'm reading these folks are raving about The Pizzeria in the Smithaven Mall. The Mall? Wha??? 2020 is a challenge, expressly for a food driven business. I'm reading they have a stand alone restaurant opening soon in Bayport. Why not rock a space in the Mall? This will keep the chefs in tune as well as having a great exposure. I read online they have a Detroit Style pizza, something I never tried. My son & I walked up to the counter. I see this crazy upside down slice with the sauce on top?? Crunchy bottom, first time trying their pizza and we were both very impressed. Now I'm a man on a mission. A few days later, I walk up to the counter and scream Detroit! I'd like slice please. Sorry, we don't have any today. I tried the The Honey Pep, again, very impressed with the dough as well as the toppings. The honey pep was just that, the mix of spicy and sweet. They make good pizza but I was dumbfounded when I was charged $5.80 a slice. I bought 2 slices it cost me $11.60 and they were tiny oddly cut slices. Finally got to see what all the hype was about! It's been awhile since I found a good pizzeria so I'll def come back. Parking was difficult since it was a Saturday night and there's a lot of restaurants over there. We got a sausage calzone, rice ball and 4 specialty slices-the vodka pepperoni, meatball, hot honey pepperoni and Thai chicken slice. The online ordering was a little confusing because if you ordered something like the pepperoni slice it asks if you want pepperoni on it so I said yes but it's an extra charge since it's supposed to already come with it. So I just got a little extra pepperoni no big deal. All the slices were awesome but the vodka slice was exceptionally salty. They were also very big portion sizes so I didn't think the $5 price was that unreasonable. I liked that the rice ball did not come with peas and it was not greasy at all. Just OK slightly overpriced pizza. I paid $19 for a pie. I would forgive them because they are new to Islip but there are other "The Pizzerias" on the Island so they should have the recipe down. And I guess the recipe is what it is. I did give an extra star because the staff was great. I was really hoping the pizza would be better. It was good but not great. I've only had delivery, which usually means the quality of the pizza suffers because it sits in a cardboard box while it rides around - the pizza in-house must be extraordinary because the delivery is damned good. I really appreciate that you can order by the slice, including their specialty pies. They've got a hot honey pepperoni, which is not yet common at most places. The meatball burrata also gets a shout-out. Salads from here are made with care. All the ingredients are tossed, so you don't get a few sad tomatoes with a pile of lettuce underneath. As a mall employee, I've been to the pizzeria multiple times. While the pizza is usually good, the customer service during my last visit was horrible. I called in an order ahead, I had to add an extra pie during the call and apologized. when confirming the order, the guy on the phone said "okay two pies and no brain," in a mocking tone. Continuing with his attitude he said "how about you call back when you actually know what you're getting." He then told me it would be ready in 2 minutes and hung up. When I went to pick up the pies, I was told it would be another 10 mins before the pizza would actually be ready. After the very short walk to our store, we opened the pizza to find this. Cheese was stuck to the top of the box, and both pies were soupy messes. They were incredibly salty and nearly inedible pies. No one wears a mask at this place. The guy handling food has a big massive giant beard without a beard net. The workers handle food and money with the same hand without any gloves. I know this sounds crazy, but I think the best pizza on long island is in the food court of a smith haven mall. Lets start with the food. The ultimate test of any pizzeria is the plain slice and these guys got it right, enough said. Beyond that, the daily specials are unique and each day is better than the last. While my personal favorite is the vodka slice (c'mon), I was completely floored by the thai chili slice, which the guy behind the counter recommended. The upside down slice is also a great go-to when you want to switch it up from the plain cheese. Lastly, they have doughy, cheesy and saucy buffalo garlic knots which are more than worth the trip in their own right. Even though the food is most important, I can't help but mention how wild it is that this pizza is coming from a food court in a mall. To say its the best pizza I've ever had in a mall is an understatement, its truly in its own league and better than any of the pizzerias in the area. How has it taken this long to realize that malls can do better than Sbarros? No surprise it happened in NY. Not to mention, the place is just cool. First impressions are everything. We go up to the counter to order and the guy doesnt even make eye contact, he's barely paying attention as we order (too busy trying to flirt with a girl that is clearly not having it) and he mutters "15 minutes" I say to my husband "how much do you wanna bet our order will be wrong" We do a lap with our kid around the mall, make our way back to pick up our food and yes - Its wrong. All of our food was cold. we ordered a fresh pie, a broccoli pinwheel, we waited for the garlic knots to warm and we only live 15 minutes away. The food should not have been cold. My guess is it was the pinwheel because my husband didnt have one and he is fine. Thank god it wasnt the pizza because our 2 year old son had a slice. Also, when I went to pay I didnt get a receipt nor was I told what the total was - I had to ask. What kind of service is that?! Overall bad experience, food wasn't even that good. read more
