Half test of eggplant parm (sorry we started eating from it prior to the picture lol)
    Mandi S.

We have been sleeping on Nonna Bella's. Why?! I don't know, but mi dispiace Nonna! What a great place. We placed a scheduled delivery order a day in advance for a small birthday party at our house. We weren't sure what to expect but saw the reviews were really positive. We ordered two grandma pies and two regular and a half tray of eggplant parm. The delivery driver was super friendly - and arrived promptly at the scheduled time. We were super surprised to see them throw in 2 dozen garlic knots and a container of sauce. Score! Who doesn't love knots and sauce?! I will send you on a search to see if such a person does exist (spoiler alert: they don't). Everyone loved the food, it was fresh, tasty and everyone was full and happy. We would absolutely order from here again and if you're looking to shake up your regulator pizza joint I'd urge you to consider Nonna Bella's. Mangia Bene! Thanks Nonna's!

Had a delish chicken parm slice! Flavors were great and not overwhelming. The slice had a good balance of chicken, sauce and cheese. If this how their chicken parm SLICE is, their chicken parm meal must be delish! I will definitely return to find out. Service was super friendly and welcoming. As I was waiting numerous staff behind the counter asked if I was being helped. I would definitely return.

A calzone with nasty plastic cooked into it

Plastic in my calzone. I bit into my calzone and found a thin piece of cooked, half melted plastic from the inside of a ricotta cheese container or something. Like the inner seal thing. Actually bit into this. Was offered half hearted apology and a "what do you want me to do?" Maybe it's wrong to post this. I dunno. But I just feel like they really don't care when they mess up. And my kids could have choked on this. Thank goodness it was for me. Soup was bad also.

I asked one of the workers if the lot was full and where they were going to park the incoming cars. He told me that they had an "additional parking lot" behind the location. I decided to drive out myself and go find street parking. I ended up finding a parking spot on a street called Madeleine Place, which was about a block and a half away from the restaurant. This was when I noticed that the valet workers were actually parking the vehicles on the same exact block. I didn't appreciate that I was lied to in regard to having an additional parking lot behind the location because I think it's important for the patrons to know where exactly their car will be while they are having dinner. After entering the restaurant, we were told to have a drink at the bar because our table wasn't ready yet, which was fine because we were several minutes early. The hostess told us that a table was paying and we would be seated shortly. While we were at the bar waiting, we must have seen three or four tables of two that had left the location. We thought we would be seated at one of those tables, however, we were actually taken to a dining area upstairs. Just to preface, the person I was dining with has dined at this restaurant numerous times with another friend who is extremely generous when it comes to paying and leaving a tip. However, on this particular night, that friend was not with us, and I feel strongly that is the reason why they did not seat us at one of those empty tables on the first floor. They brought us upstairs to a more secluded dining area. The service upstairs was significantly worse compared to the service that my friend had received numerous times on the first floor. You could also see the difference in patrons between the first floor and second floor. The food.. Presentation is great! But the taste -- sub-par! We ordered the baked artichoke from the appetizer menu, which was loaded with some type of dressing and so much cheese that you could barely taste the artichoke. We also ordered a Caesar salad, which was so mediocre. We ordered a side of asparagus was very bland. We then ordered the filet mignon, which was decent, but I feel like it's overpriced for the taste. In regard to our drink order, we were only asked once if we wanted a drink, and we felt extremely rushed throughout. I'm only giving this three stars because I can't give it 2 1/2. I personally did not have a good experience at this restaurant and I definitely won't be returning nor will I recommend it. They started off on a bad foot by lying about the parking situation.

It is easy to be enveloped by the plethora of great…read morerestaurants in the competitive nature that is NYC, but when you venture all the way out here to Babylon, NY, you have to change that mindset a bit. The Brixton is a beautiful restaurant with very relaxed and casual vibes. The word around town is that their drinks are awesome. What about their food, though? They originally would not seat us in the middle of the afternoon because most of the empty tables were reserved. We had to request to sit outside, which was empty, before they decided to serve us. Odd that they did not even offer that to us. The General Tso' Cauliflower was the only great thing served to us. It is incredibly crispy and flavorful. You almost forgot that you were eating a piece of vegetable at times. The Short Rib Brisket Sesame burger was shocking. $18 for two White Castles-sized sliders. It was easily consumed, and I was left much to be desired. This is most definitely an appetizer item, not an entree. The Chicken Waffle was good. Nicely deep-fried and packs a lot of flavor. The waffle looked dubious. If I had to guess, it might not be mad fresh to order. Essentially, it's 3 drumsticks/wings over a possibly frozen Eggo waffle. I would recommend a second dish if you are looking to get full. The Steak frites and Eggs Benedict were the final dishes served. It is hard to mess these dishes up, but the ribeye was nicely seasoned and cut up. The dishes were nicely displayed. Overall, this is just an OK experience. When the deep-fried cauliflower appetizer is the most memorable dish here, it is quite alarming. Portion sizes are on the small end, and none of the flavors for the entrees really stuck out. Perhaps I will come here strictly for the drinks next time.

The menu is simple and not overwhelming which is something I really appreciate. The ingredients are quality and authentic. We love the Fulton street panini. The paninis are more like calzones because they use their pizza dough. Really unique and delicious with a bit of char from that pizza oven. The meat and cheese boards have these peppers that provide the perfect acidic bite to cleanse your pallet. The pesto gnocchi is homemade, tender and fresh with herbs. The salads are large and full of Mediterranean goodness. The cocktails are amazing with some interesting flavor combinations. One of my favorites at the moment is a mezcal and beet drink. Their espresso martini is also one of the best I've had in the area. For dessert you have to try the tiramisu. It is served in a martini glass and tastes as good as it looks. Pairs well with the espresso martini. The service is excellent and friendly. Josh goes out of his way to make sure everyone is comfortable and full with food and drink. The atmosphere is warm, intimate and cozy with dim lighting. The music is fun with a lot of great throwbacks. Never anything offensive or too loud.
