Very underwhelming. This place has been on my list for a while and while I'm glad I tried it I probably wouldn't go back. The classic pie was good, very garlicky. Good amount of sauce and cheese but not my favorite pizza ever. The calzone was ok as well. Very garlicky also and sometimes you just want a classic calzone flavor. Garlic isn't a bad thing but it was a little overwhelming for me. The nail in the coffin was the cheesesteak. Don't even offer it on the menu if you're just gonna sell me some good bread with just peppers and onions. There was literally barely any meat in the sandwich. It was super disappointing. Take the fries off and add more protein. We picked up the food and that was easy, nice parking lot and the staff was friendly. They have a nice little outdoor seating area also. read more

Went here for the first time last nite on a date night with the wife. Yes I am a lucky man when we both enjoy a great pie outside for a date! Firstly, the food is prepared surprisingly fast. The pictures of the pizzas above the ordering window are mostly described as crispy or thin or both- so many to choose from. My kinda place. The Italia had the perfect ratio of cheese and flavorful sauce with the kinda crisp/char I love on the edges. Hey if you like pizzas where you dont eat the crust, I don't wanna hear it lol. Amore Pizza absolutely hit the spot! The slice I ordered was massive (big enough to share with my honey). In my opinion, it's honestly one of the biggest and best in Nutley. The crust was perfectly crispy, the sauce was flavorful, and the whole thing was just incredibly delicious. Sometimes you just need a slice that delivers on all fronts, and Amore did exactly that. Found this place on door dash, and then realized they are pretty popular! The door dash and uber eats app options are slightly disappointing, no option to add toppings to the heart shaped pizza. Also the heart pizza was a bit disappointing, shape wise. It just looked like a deformed circle but maybe I'm being too picky. Just comparing to other restaurants I've had. The sample photos and price justifies a bit more effort or just take it off the menu honestly. The pizza itself was good! I really liked the garlicky flavor, sauce tasted fresh and the dough was also a hit. We really wanted toppings so I got 1 slice with pepperoni, I could have skipped this. Although the slice should be the same as the heart pizza, just with added pepperoni, the flavors were veryyyyy different, the pizza was dry and tasted like it sat in the restaurant all day. Do yourself a favor and order a pie. Also, if you are doing a pick up order beware there may be some challenges. The front person working kept asking for a QR code, we confirmed name and showed a screenshot of the order. I order out a decent amount and do pick up on door dash and uber eats and never have been given a QR code. She asked a few times so it did become a tad overwhelming. That's Amore ain't no lie! I was driving right by this 900 square feet gem and had to pull over to grab a pie. After all it's home of the Giuseppe pie! Now that's when the moon it's your eye! Friendly family-run staff, parking and outdoor dining (too bad there's no indoor-but pretend your on the Seaside boardwalk and you'll be fine) make this place shine. (Anyone else see the full clunky name of this place and have flashbacks to high school with subordinate clauses and diagramming sentences?!) At this little rectangle of a building across the street from the Nutley Diner just a stone's throw from a really busy intersection is where you'll find a seriously delicious pizza. We went with the "thinny skinny" and we had the foresight to order two. As advertised: it's thinny and it's skinny (I really think I could fit an entire slice in my mouth but I was raised better than that). It's well-charred and packed a nice punch. (If you lean more towards a more stiff-cracker-bottom... you won't be happy with the wimpy-flimsy style here.) Our family of four demolished the first pie in minutes and put a good dent in the second one. Menu pricing is a touch steep (on some items) but it's a damn good pizza. Cool crew behind the counter. There's a (narrow) parking lot but things can get a bit hairy coming/going with all the traffic in that area. Can 'Amore' hold their own against (the beloved but overrated) Star Tavern? Definitely. I've ordered a few times now from here and I can say that by far the star of the show is still the pizza. With that said, last time I had the pasta with meatballs and their sauce game is serious. I could have eaten the whole bowl of pasta with just that sauce great job. The meatballs on the other hand had a mass market meatball flavor, it was like getting high quality frozen meatballs from the super market. Its not a bad thing they are good, it's just nothing special. One other thing that gets me, is that every delivery service has a large pie for $16 and it you pick it up its $13. We are already gouged by the delivery fee and service charge of the delivery apps do you really need to inflate the price by $3 for delivery? I like this place and I would/have recommended them hence the update to 4 stars. They just introduced the Barstool Pie Margherita pie, which is their way of enticing Dave to stop in, however he does prefer the "New Haven" style of pizza which is closer to a neapolitian, but I'm still going to try it. Great little Pizza Place that has taken the neighborhood by storm. They have no indoor seating, but do have 6 tables outside. Parking lot is available and can handle 10 cars at a time. Small location, but they crank it out with the best of them. Friendly staff and willing to accommodate any requests you like. Their customer service makes up for their size and they are already considered one of the best pizzerias in Northern NJ in their short time open. Was ready timely. Take out only roadside type stand. People very friendly. Pizza was 8 out of 10. Great crust tremendous sauce with a nice tang. Only con was it needed more cheese. The Sicilian is out of this world but the upside down sicilian pie, the palermo, is a nice alternative if you want a thinner crust. There are so many pizza places around this area. I normally order from Amore for my wife and myself, but this Friday I had the entire family over. So prices for 4 pies a sandwich and an app or two. The price would of been well over $150. Amore is good. A solid B+ pizza pie. At $18.95 for a large cheese pizza plus $4 a topping on the Slice app. They are a bit to pricey though, and when ordering for many people you could forget about it. No plain large cheese pizza should cost over $14. Even during these elevated Biden price times. Again, a very good pizza pie, but price lowers their rating. For that price you could get better in this area. Emilio's, Ralph's. Amore's pizza is Equal to Lou's in Nutley, both very good. Lou's cheese pie is $12. $2 toppings. A very nice salad with excellent dressing. Average slice, but perfectly cooked. Not much flavor in the crust, not much flavor in the sauce, average cheese. A really excellent Sicilian slice. As a guy who grew up in NYC I'm very used to a certain taste in my pizza that I have not been able to find in New Jersey when I moved here in 2002. I think New Jersey pizza is excellent but it just doesn't have the flavors I'm used to growing up. That is until I found Amore Pizza in Nutley. Jacks pizza isn't close to NY pizza it's exactly the same thing. All his pies are excellent but the bleeker st pie is one of the best pizza pies I've ever had in my life. I've been searching for a good pizza spot since I moved here in April and haven't had luck until I passed by this place when I took my daughter to the park nearby. I got 2 slices to go, the Giuseppe and chicken parm, and they were surprisingly delicious! I'm used to the good pizza back in Hoboken, and I have to say this place beats some of the pizza places over there. The crust was thin and crispy yet not droopy. Stopped in for a slice (which is apparently is not the way to eat pizza in Nutley). It had all the makings of a great pizza, but it wasn't cooked enough in the first place, and then it wasn't heated enough when I ordered it. The sauce had a great flavor to it. The cheese was high quality - very smooth, rich, melted so evenly, but didn't have much flavor of its own. Despite this, it blended well with the sauce to create a very good flavor, overall. The dough was nice and thin, but not the least bit crispy. It was pale and whitish all around, and the crust was more like bread than a crust. That said, this crust had a good flavor, as well. All in all, I'd give it a 4 for flavor, minus 1 for being undercooked and soft, not crispy. I will give it another try - I'd love to see what this pizza tastes like when it is cooked through. read more

We ordered a large sausage pizza and Pasta Fagioli. The pie was perfect, nice flavor to the sausage - and the crust done just the way we like it, on the thin side with a nice crisp to it...so good we all agreed, but the surprise for me was the Pasta Fagioli! I've ordered it from all the Italian places in Nutley so I was expecting a mildly flavored sort of a soupy pasta & bean dish...but WHAT A SURPRISE this one was! They should have created another name for it. It was that good. it awoke taste buds that were asleep. Like "what the heck is in this"? It deserved a fine china soup bowl and a linen napkin.
