I ordered a gluten free pizza through grub hub. The crust was terrible, whole pizza smelled old and tasted chalky and stale. It was so stale in fact, that i could pull the cheese (toppings included) right off of the pizza as one big slab. My family was very disappointed with the quality. I also still had an allergic reaction to this pizza, I have a gluten allergy. This makes me especially upset because this impaired my healing progress. They should really take the gluten free option off of the menu altogether if it is not entirely guaranteed to be certified gluten free, this could really injure another person with Celiac disease. Whether or not the pizza is gluten free or if they are not being diligent with cross contamination, both factors can still cause harm to people who have to resort to gluten free options. read more

We grabbed takeout here a few days ago after hearing it's been in business for over 40 years. We did a pickup order and it was ready pretty much ready when promised 30 mins later. The pizza is your classic slice - I'm a fan. It was exactly what you want your standard pizza to taste like - cheesy, good sauce ratio, and chewy but soft crust. We also got a side of calamari which was surprisingly crunchy, flavorful, and hearty. A huge portion for $11.95! We also got a kids pasta with a meatball which was a good portion. The meatball, though, was on the average side. Definitely recommend when you are in the mood for some classic pizza! read more

I was at the coffee shop next door visiting a friend and I still had some time left on my meter so I decided to check this place out. Just walked in and ordered a slice, they didn't have sit down dining open, just a little pick up window. Listen, the slice was more on the expensive side because I'm used to paying like $2/2.50 a slice but when it came out and I saw those big ol pepperonis it made sense. It took them only like 2 minutes to heat up my pizza, and it tasted delicious, esp the gigantic pepperoni. Never had that on a pizza before. read more

The marguerite pizza is delicious and the sauce is homemade and delicious. The basil is fresh fragrant and the dough is perfect crusty on the edge and fluffy dough on the inside. The pizzeria is clean and the owner is nice. They have more than pizza. read more

My wife and I are from Philly so it really doesn't matter that gave this place a bad review. The veal parmigiana sandwich was poor because of the veal they use. I gave the sandwich back to a man who said he was the owner but he was probably lying because another man came out to offer me a chicken sandwich Instead. I declined. The first man I spoke to had a very bad attitude and I told him but he didn't care. Anyway, we didn't try their pizza which looked good. Just don't order their veal. It is terrible!! Been ordering here for a long time. Mr. Dinos has a unique fluffy crust which is why I ordered from there. It is great pizza however has become more inconsistent over the last few months (mid 2024) and prices have exploded. Almost all pizzas are $30 at this point which is hard to justify if your not offering 10/10 pizza at all times. I wish them the best however something has to change, either price or quality. We moved to the area from NYC last year and after many failed attempts at finding a good pizza spot, we FINALLY found our go to - Mr Dino's pizza is spot on. Seriously BEST pizza near Montclair- I have not been able to find that "classic" pizza slice in this town that was even remotely worthy. I've only had the pepperoni and the **toppings are generous and even the crust is good!** Red Sauce used is not sweet like sometimes you find at other places. This place doesn't get enough credit tbh. FYI- It's cheaper if you pay with cash not card. I totally RECOMMEND - 5 stars - literally going there now. read more

Mr Dino's is my go to quick pizza spot in town. The crust is crispy while also being a bit fluffy which I'm a fan of. I haven't gotten around to trying items outside of the pizza and garlic knots, so it would be interesting to try something new. The restaurant itself is large and finding a seat is never a problem. There's also a good selection of refrigerated drinks to choose from. For now I'm pretty happy with my mr Dino's experiences thus far. I'll be sure to keep returning in the future. read more

Simply terrible. I've been going to Mr. Dino's Pizzeria & Restaurant for over 20 years, and it's been a dependable local with solid pies and good heroes. But this last meal that I had was inedible. Apparently, Mr. Dino's has changed ownership and absolutely nothing has carried over. I hate leaving bad reviews, but if you could avoid this place, that is my sincere recommendation. I'm writing a review for my father, Richard, who talks about Mr. Dinos as if it's his favorite son. That not to say, I have nothing to say about this place, but if you can get an grumpy Italian man in his late 70s excited enough to drive 40 minutes to get a grandma pie, I'd say you're doing something very right. I personally am a huge fan of a breadier slice, so I lean towards a Sicilian or grandma style pie. I really put my pops onto it to cuz it's all he talks about. I wish I could review anything else from the place, but I honestly have only come here to order the same pie. It seems like a standard jersey pizzeria that'll serve you any type of slice that'll burn the roof of your mouth but keep you wanting a second slice. I can't give 5 stars only cuz I did order a grandma pie for pick up once, and it was burnt to a crisp and lopsided, BUT when I called back they were immediatly willing to make right of the situation. We tried Mr. Dino's because our regular Friday night pizza spot has become super inconsistent and because I could order from door dash while on the bus. It's pricey in general and in weird ways - like you can't get toppings on half a pie. You have to pay for toppings on the entire pie and then ask them to only put it on half. The good news is that it arrived quickly and it was delicious. I don't know if it will become our regular Friday night pizza spot because of the cost, but it's definitely added to the rotation. We've only had pizza and garlic knots which were both great. We are looking forward to trying sandwiches and pasta in the future. read more

We get a plain pie and garlic knots every Friday for the kids dinner, and my wife and I always end up sharing a slice and a couple of knots before we go out, because they're so good. Picked-up a wonderful plain pie from Mr. Dino's last night. The pizza is always consistently good. I like the crust because it is never burned and cooked just right. This establishment uses the real big slices of pepperoni which few others utilize. This place has been around forever, dating back to when I was kid. The pie has a genuinely great taste and is just right and not too greasy . Their prices are average. I have not tried anything else on the menu board , because I really enjoy their pizza. read more

While wandering through Montclair this evening I happened upon Mr. Dino's Pizzeria. I took it as a good sign that around 6:30PM on a Friday night there was a small army of people inside waiting for their pies to go. The staff behind the counter was *hustling* and several orders were being kept warm on standby for delivery. It was a hectic but impressive scene. When you walk into Dino's a lot of the action takes place on the right hand side. There you will find several pies on display behind glass. A fountain soda machine is situated behind the counter and beyond that are the ovens and a prep area. The seating area was huge and could easily seat 20-30 people. I ordered a slice with mushrooms and I was amazed at how many mushrooms they piled onto it. Most of the time pizza shops just put a thin layer on. This was a *pile*. Every time I bit into the slice mushrooms went spilling out. Huge kudos for the crust, which was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The sauce leaned towards being tangy and the cheese had good flavor. It was a more impressive slice than I had expected! I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Mr. Dino's Pizzeria and I recommend it to anyone in the area who wants a good slice. read more

Grandmas pie is an amazing creation.. Its a little expensive at about $24 with extra cheese.. It is however very filling. Must weight in at about 5 lbs.. Just tried one of their canolis tonight. It was double the size of most and overall delicious. read more

It took them 1-1/2 hours to deliver, and it was the most bland, tepid pizza I've ever had. I had to call them twice after placing my order & one time the counter girl said that she didn't know when they would get there (this is at the hour mark). I used to love this place, but this is the last straw. They also tack on a debit/credit card charge if you don't pay in cash. The sauce tasted like it was tomato paste out of a can. Pizza is solid. Plain cheese is typical Noth Jersey slice. If you moved to DC or Philly, you would really miss it. It's no 3 Brothers from Italy down the shore, but it is solid. The #5 Italian sub is GREAT - a favorite of mine, and I think their meatballs are the BEST. The meatball parm sub is PERFECT, especially if you get a side of extra meatballs for dipping the breat, which is, for some reason, a little better than a lot of other places. I Just ate at Salute yesterday, and got a $28 salty meatball dish. I just thought, Mr. Dino's has the best meatballs, and for $6 - COME ON! read more

Originally from Brooklyn these guys have the right formula and know how to put out great food. We have been coming here for over 7 years before they remodeled and never a bad experience. One of the few pizzerias that give you larger pepperonis on your pizza..2010s Glen Ridge Pizza Challenge Winners, Iron Chef #1 Pepperoni. Love..Love..Love...Bakedt Ziti, Meatball Parm etc. All good and delicious. The Team here are always pleasant to interact with. Just got delivery. I looked at the soda I ordered. It has Santa on the label and it expired 6 weeks ago. Never ordering from this place again. Disgraceful. I should have listened to the negative reviews about how sloppy they have become. [Update 6/26/15]: So the owner has sent multiple messages and comments complaining that I should not pass judgment on the quality of his food when my problem was with the expired soda. After looking over my review countless times I have yet to see any mention of his food. Rather, I stated that perhaps I should have listened to more recent negative reviews regarding perceived sloppiness of this restaurant. In fairness to the owner, however, I have decided that it is necessary for me to provide an honest assessment of his food. Here goes: Meh, nothing special. Despite my negative experiences, I must say that Mr. Dino's provides excellent free entertainment in the form of its owner's comments and messages on Yelp. Never had I read in the small business handbook that it was a good idea to get into online disputes with customers or admit that one's staff is not that bright. We were hungry on a Friday night and decided to order some pizza to satisfy our carb craving. Being new to the area, I wasn't sure where to order from and I knew I definitely didn't want Domino's! We came across Dino's and decided to give them a try. We got a pepperoni and meatball pie and WOW was it good. We also tried the plain pie, which was good, but not as amazing as the pepperoni/meatball. I can't speak for anything else, but the pizza here was pretty awesome. Perfect proportion to cheese, meat, and sauce. Definitely ordering from this little gem again! I'm looking forward to trying some of the other items on the menu. read more

Dino's is our go-to for takeout pizza. IMO, they're the closest thing to NYC style pizza in Montclair. My only gripe (hence the for stars), is that the pizzas have too much dough. This spot would be a solid five if they used 1/4 less dough. I've been eating at Mr Dino's for the past 37 years and they are one of the Best in the area if Not the Best. Used to ride my bicycle from Glenridge pkwy there when I lived in Montclair, it was the place to go after school or at night coming back from the Many Party's I attended in town. I recently visited the town for a funeral and stopped at Dino's and bought 3/4 of a Sicilian pie to take back to PA and have been eating it every day for a week.
