Ordered through the Slice App. 1hr after not receiving, I called them directly to check on my order. The woman who picked up the phone tonight was not hospitable & in fact admitted to Not entering the order & w/ no remorse bluntly asked if I wanted it or not. I ended up saying yes b/c I needed to feed my kids before bed which was in 35min. When I conte ted Slice they advised they tried to get a discount from Loue's admitted error on their part & they said No. This is the 2nd time most recently where I ordered from them & the 1st time they messed up my order before, but I let it go. 2nd time it happens again & the woman admitted to it & not even a discount or something on the house. They need to learn what genuine hospitality is. I'll be sure to continue to order for Rocky's and Pick-up at Ralph's. Food: the Garlic knots they gave us was Burnt. My daughter used to love them & threw it out. The cheese calzone was underwhelming & the pizza was soggier than a wet sock. Awful hospitality & not worth the aggravation of ordering from them ever again & anyone who asks where to order I'll be sure not let them know never to go here. read more

Since there are so many Italian Delis/Pizzerias in Nutley, all pretty the same quality (good to excellent) it was price that led us to try Loue-s. For $12.95 you could have (for example) eggplant or chicken parm, francese, etc with a full portion of any pasta with any sauce imaginable and a small tossed salad all for $12.95. Everything was delicious. Cut to 2023. While the quality is still very good the price is now 16.95 and no longer includes salad. Still, considering the portions are very generous and the quality remains very good we still order from them. I can easily make my dinner into two meals. Compared to other places we have found Loue's to be the best bang for the buck We also get our pizza here. A regular pie with two toppings is around $17 All around good food and good value for a neighborhood Italian . read more

Loue's Place Pizza & Pasta is consistently delicious!!! There is nothing on their menu that I haven't tried and liked. Their pizza is very good. The vodka sauce is one of the best I've ever had as well as their francase sauce. Their seafood is always fresh and the chicken is clean, thin and tender. Very, very good chicken! Loue the owner is very nice and his staff is pleasant and helpful. His delivery drivers are always polite and friendly. Great catering services as well. Highly recommend!!! Found this spot on DoorDash. The large pizza is a solid option in the area. A lot of pizza spots have started to cheap out on the ingredients but the last few pie's I got from Loue's have tasted very good. The prices are also very reasonable. I paid $12 for a large plain pie. I have no idea how some places are charging $20 or more even with inflation the way it is. As far as pizza goes, I'm a fan of Loue's. I have to give 4 stars because I was not a big fan of the sandwiches I ordered. The bread was too mushy and I've just had better in the area. read more

This 5/5 is for the consistency, taste, freshness, and overall quality of this food. I came upon this place a few days ago while looking for one of my favorite sandwiches, chicken parmigiana. Everyone does theirs differently and sometimes there's no wrong way but I have my preferences. I have had a lot in my day and sit here today and say, this is the best one I have ever had. The chicken was fried and breaded just so perfectly, the roll was soft on the inside yet had a slight crunch on the outside. The sauce & cheese ratio was also perfect and the pull (stretch ) the cheese had gave it its authenticity. The slice of pizza I had was also wonderful. The bottom was golden and seemed to be buttery. The crust was crunchy and soft. I had it once and I had to try it again to verify it's deliciousness...it's 100% verified. I'll be ordering again next week. read more

There are so many places in our area to order pizza. Choices are unlimited. So when we had family over on Friday one suggested Lou's in Nutley. I said we haven't ordered from there in a while so I said sure. We order 4 pizza's, 2 rice balls, and a sandwich for delivery. Well the food arrives and there is a problem at the start. They forgot to bring 1 mushroom pie. Nervous this was not going to turn out well with a house full of people, was quickly forgotten. I called and let them know 1 pizza was forgotten, I ordered from the Slice app so it was a glitch. They said they would get on it right away and have it delivered to us. Meanwhile everyone started eating the pies that arrived. 12 people all agreed. The pies from Lou's were excellent! Margarita pie with sausage and hot peppers was amazing. The Sicilian pie everyone agreed one of the best they have ever had. Light and crispy, cooked all the way through. Then to the rice ball. FYI: 1 order is 1 huge rice ball. We ordered with vodka sauce. These were delicious & Moist ! So important when having a rice ball. Dry rice balls are so common. These were not your common rice ball. You have the best pizza place in the country on one side of High Street by Franklin Ave (Ralph's) and the worst pizza I ever had on the other end of High Street by Bloomfield Ave (Loue's). Nothing too special here. Just some okay pizza and I also got the grilled chicken wrap which was pretty lackluster. The place was not very busy for a weekday night and we ended up ordering it over the phone and picking it up in person. The service was a bit slow when we went to pick it up. By the time I started eating my wrap was soggy. It must of soaked up the juices or oils of the chicken or something. That is probably more of a problem of doing takeout but that was just a minor inconvenience for a meh wrap that was pretty small for the price that was paid for it. There are other options out there but if this place fits your palette then go for it! read more

Have eaten in the restaurant and have had delivery and have no complaints. Girls who answer the phone are always pleasant and the pizza is one of the best in Nutley. So we went and picked up a pizza today and when we brought it home it was hard as a rock. I called there to tell them and the owner said to come pick it up. I said well it was your Mistake can you please deliver it. She said yes but it will be over an hour. I agreed to that but then she said let me ask the owner and then she came back and said no deliveries today. Obviously very odd after she just said yes. So I ask to speak to the owner and she said he won't come To the phone because he is cooking and it's busy. Not for nothing, but I'm this world we live in today, you would think he or she would get on the phone. I left my number but they were totally rude and who knows if they are going to call me back. And as of now they never brought me my pie. I order here multiple times in a month and I was going to order 10 pies for my sons birthday but probably not now. This place never gives you your money's worth from getting a meatball sandwich with only two very small meatballs cut up, it's all bun, to the very thin piece of chicken on their chicken cutlet parm sandwich. Today I ordered a breaded eggplant sub with fresh mozzarella and roasted red peppers. I repeated "breaded" to make sure they heard and they confirmed. I picked it up and it was more expensive than I was expecting based on their online menu (my fault for not asking) but when I got home it was regular eggplant - NOT breaded. I was so disappointed. I was home alone with my sick 3 year old otherwise I would've dragged him back out to get my money back and return the sandwich. I ate half - the sandwich was ehh, the bread was terrible. I gave the rest away to my neighbor. I called them to let them know about their mistake and all they had to say was "sorry". No mention of getting my money back or a new sandwich. Ordered their food through door dash. Rice balls were HUGE and good-fried nicely and soft inside. We ordered chicken and eggplant dishes. Chicken was good, eggplant sauce was a little watery and bland. We both ordered penne pasta (one same sauce as dish and one vodka sauce) as side pasta but got one penne and one spaghetti in not vodka sauce. Also one of the drinks was wrong (ordered green tea arizona but got sweet tea). Not huge mistakes but annoying. The worst customer service and pizza I've ever had. When I received my pizza it was wrong and had black olives all over it. I called and they said they would send a new one. I waited another hour for my replacement pizza and I live in walking distance. The girls were rude and unaccommodating and even when I called several times to inquire about where it was. I was just told that they were busy and it's on it's way. There was no effort to rush my order when they were the ones that made the mistake and when I asked about a refund since it took 2 hrs in total i was told no because they were sending another pizza regardless of the wait. When I finally got the pizza is was over cooked, burnt cheese, cold and hard. The grossest pizza I've ever had. I've been a loyal customer since they opened their doors a few years ago and they always had a good product with good customer service. Last night I ordered a Vegetable pizza. It arrived so SOGGY that that I had to eat it with a fork and knife. I couldn't even finish one slice, so I called them back to get a replacement and spoke to the manager who told me that I should expect a veggie pizza to be soggy due to the vegetables. He also told me that if I wanted a replacement, I'd have to pay for it! The pizza restaurants at the food court at any mall can make a NON-SOGGY veggie pizza. I informed the manager about the length of my customer loyalty; he told me "sorry" then HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME! So for $21 (Pizza + tip for the driver) I basically received what tasted exactly like wet bread with some sauce and vegetables on it. Its honestly a little painful to write this review. Beats all other Nutley joints. I've tried them all since moving here and have been relatively disappointed, especially the places that reviewed so well. I happened to find Loue's and gave it a shot and it's become my one and only. The pie is superb. The sauce is nice and bright, with great tomato flavor, plenty of cheese and a nice crispy, chewy crust that rivals anything you'll get in NYC. Also, the prices are astoundingly good! My last order I also decided to splurge and add on a Greek salad and a slice of cheesecake. The salad was far larger than I expected, fresh and well made. The cheesecake was good - nothing special, but good. Lastly - I detest talking on the phone and I really don't enjoy placing orders over the phone. Loue's has online ordering! Their website is kinda amateurish and ordering is a little odd, but everything works right, including online payment, so who cares what it looks like!? I'll be back, I need to order some pizza. Tried it for the first time last week even though I've been in Nutley for years. Large pizza half cheese and half pepperoni. Caught a last minute craving for good pizza. Thought of the 5 pizza joints closest to me but ended choosing Loue's. Well I am glad I did. Only my second time having their Pizza n it wont be my last. The place is clean simple and enough room to sit back with a few friends and enjoy your food. I noticed 1 T.V. and the game was on. A great little pizza joint! They're a walk away from me so maybe I'm biased about the convenient location but they've totally impressed me so far. Their pizza is just how I like it: cheese and sauce are balanced nicely and the crust is thin but still has that chewy-yet-crunchy thing going that I love. Their BBQ burger is really great, I'd definitely recommend it! A huge burger with a variety of toppings and a pile of fries; I couldn't even finish it right away but I was happy to get more than my money's worth. Fortunately, living in north Jersey gives you plenty of choices for pizzeria home-made style pies. Being born and raised in the area I have tried many of the pizzerias around here and most of them serve a pretty good pie with a few that just don't compete. Loue's Place is among the best. I went here for the first time a few weeks ago and tried the chicken, bacon, and ranch pie they had in the display counter. It was phenomenal. But what about their more traditional stuff? Well that was delicious as well. With so many similar places in an area, kinda like the way it is with Chinese food, it is tough to stand out. We keep going back to this little gem. Our first experience we did a Sicilian pie with fresh garlic. Amazing! Sauce was fresh, bright in color and just right with the cheese. We had a large chef salad . The second time we went back with no kids and tried two chicken dinners which came with salad and pasta. More than enough good with leftovers coming home with us. BYOB is nice too. Staff is friendly and remembers us now as we like extra bread and hot peppers with salad. Parking is limited but on a Saturday night we still had no problem parking close.
